The Crystal's Message
The chamber remained silent after the guardian collapsed. Dust slowly settled across the ancient stone floor while the broken pieces of the guardian's armor lay scattered around the ruins. The glowing crystal embedded in the wall continued to pulse faintly with dark purple light.
Kael stood in front of it, staring at the strange energy flowing through the crystal.
Leon crossed his arms nearby. "So… what exactly did you see when you touched that thing?"
Kael hesitated before answering.
"A memory."
Seraphine stepped closer, her eyes fixed on the crystal.
"What kind of memory?"
Kael took a slow breath.
"An empire. A massive one."
He closed his eyes briefly, recalling the vision.
Towering black castles. Endless armies wearing armor covered in abyss runes. And above them all stood a powerful figure surrounded by pure darkness.
"The Abyss King," Kael said quietly.
Seraphine's expression hardened.
"That crystal is likely a relic from his empire."
Leon raised an eyebrow. "Your father's empire, right?"
Kael nodded slowly.
"Yes."
Suddenly the system window appeared before him again.
