Chapter 118 - Ch 118- Trump Card

"What an incorrigible bunch of fools!"

Regulus's voice echoed over the ruins, and she dramatically waved her arms, like a mad actor performing on stage.

"Do you still not understand? Standing before you is a perfect existence! Those ridiculous sneak attacks, those childish traps, they're even clumsier than a circus clown's juggling act!"

She suddenly showed a pensive expression. "However, the destructive power is commendable. That starving ghost who keeps shouting 'chew and bite' all day, couldn't he really have been blown to dust? If he really died, it would save me trouble. Every time I hear him yell, it gives me a headache."

Everyone watched this self-absorbed individual in silence. Although her body was still protected by "time stop," her attention was completely distracted.

But… the more this madwoman immersed herself in her own world, the more opportunities they had.

"This is what you call…" Regulus began a new monologue, "possessing great power, but due to a foolish mind, degenerating into a barbaric machine of destruction." She rapturously cupped her cheeks, "Indeed, in this world, existences like me, who possess both power and wisdom, are too rare."

Regulus closed her eyes, shrugged exaggeratedly, and let out a dramatic sigh.

As soon as she opened her eyes, Rem's Morning Star was already hurtling towards her with a whooshing sound!

"Bang!!!"

The heavy iron ball hit her squarely in the face, and the immense impact caused her head to snap back. Just as she staggered backward

"Ur Dona!"

Carlisle's earth magic suddenly activated. The ground beneath Greed's feet suddenly became as soft as quicksand, and her unbalanced body instantly sank. When she came to her senses, she found herself planted like a plant, with only her head exposed above the ground.

"You! Waah!"

Just as Regulus was about to curse, Rem's second strike came whistling. The Morning Star, imbued with all the maid's fury, slammed hard into her temple. The blue-haired maid's eyes burned with cold killing intent.

The 48th husband? What a joke! Rem's heart was as fierce as a blizzard. Carlisle belongs to Subaru and Rem… Who allowed a madwoman like you to covet him?!

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

Three consecutive heavy blows made Regulus's head sway back and forth like a rattle drum. Wilhelm's sword also thrust towards her head at the same moment. Although the sword tip was blocked by an invisible barrier, the impact still caused her head to snap back violently.

"Enough with the commotion!"

Regulus suddenly let out a deafening shriek. She took a deep breath, and this action immediately triggered Carlisle's combat intuition.

"Al Murak!"

Gravity magic instantly enveloped everyone present, pulling them sharply into the sky. Just as they lifted off the ground—

"Boom!!!!"

The gas spewed from Regulus's mouth transformed into countless transparent blades, erupting radially from her. The already scarred giant pit was torn apart again, the ground peeled away layer by layer like fragile paper, and distant trees instantly turned to dust upon contact with the air blades. The splashing dust formed circular waves of earth that lingered.

Hovering in the air, everyone looked at the hellish scene below, cold sweat soaking their backs. One second later, they would have been annihilated like those trees.

"What a joke?"

Regulus suddenly sprang out of the ground. She glared up at everyone hovering in the air, her voice so sharp it almost pierced eardrums.

"You can even fly? Don't think you can escape that way! How dare you bury me in the dirt while I was speaking?! Do you even know that this violates my sacred and inviolable right to speak and move my body?!"

"An Al Murak!"

Carlisle didn't give her a chance to continue her madness. He slammed his palm downward, and powerful gravity magic, like an invisible mountain, crashed down!

"Boom!!!"

The giant pit sank again, the ground forcefully pressed into an even deeper depression, and the shockwave kicked up a sky full of dust.

However, after the dust cleared, Regulus still stood in place, not even a single wrinkle on her skirt.

She showed a chilling smile.

"I say…"

"Were you trying to push me into the ground again just now?" She lightly brushed off non-existent dust from her clothes, "Too bad, I won't give you that chance again. Even someone as gentle as me gets angry when treated like this!"

Carlisle stared intently at Regulus below. Just now, her body was indeed affected by the impact, but now she was saying, "External forces can't affect her?"

"Carlisle, send the others away."

Subaru's voice interrupted Carlisle's thoughts. The black-haired girl floated in the air, her gaze never leaving the pure white figure in the distance. Regulus was leisurely adjusting her collar, as if the fierce battle just now was merely a farce.

To think… even an attack of this magnitude… Subaru's stomach cramped. If that shockwave that tore through the earth had affected her companions… She dared not think further, her throat felt as if something was lodged in it.

Carlisle nodded silently, the knight's fingers glowed with purple magical energy, and the gravity magic instantly intensified for every companion present.

"Wait! Subaru!" Rem's Morning Star chains rattled, her blue eyes filled with panic, "Rem cannot"

"Wait! Lady Anastasia needs a complete battle report." Julius's voice was uncharacteristically urgent.

Wilhelm's sword was already three inches out of its sheath. "I cannot abandon my benefactor!"

Their voices cut off abruptly. Gravity magic, like an invisible giant hand, lifted the three of them higher into the sky, rapidly flying towards Roswaal's domain. Subaru looked at their gradually shrinking figures, her chest aching as if torn open.

I'm sorry… but this is necessary.

Two meticulously planned tactics had completely failed, and she hadn't even grasped the enemy's capabilities. The Return by Death ability flickered in her mind. Yes, she could start over, but she didn't want to witness the tragic deaths of those important to her. If possible, she didn't want to even once. Just imagining Rem being torn apart by the air blades made her almost suffocate.

Subaru looked at her departing companions, clenching her trembling fists. She had left Carlisle, who was most important to her, not because he was the strongest combatant, but because of that trump card.

Flame Sword Blaze… this holy sword residing in her soul would only appear at the most critical moment. And based on the experience of the last loop, only Carlisle could truly wield its power.

The two slowly landed.

Regulus tilted her head and looked over, "You drove your companions away? But do you think I'll let them go?"

Carlisle drew his long sword, silently blocking in front of Subaru. He didn't know about the Flame Sword's existence, but his knightly instincts made him assume a defensive posture.

"I say."

Regulus puffed out her cheeks. "You couldn't possibly be so naive as to think that by sending those bothersome small fry away, you'd have a chance to win, could you? You've already witnessed my power with your own eyes, yet you still cling to such ridiculous fantasies?"

"Are you taking me for a fool? Or do you think you're the protagonists of some hot-blooded story, capable of creating miracles just by shouting 'never give up' a few times?"

"Don't be ridiculous! I am the perfect Regulus Corneas! An existence for whom even the laws of the world must make way! You low-level beings, how ignorant must you be to harbor the illusion that you can defeat me?!"

Subaru did not back down. She knew, of course, that the odds were slim, but this was the only choice: either stake everything here, or watch her companions die.
