Prologue – Echoes of Eternity
Decades had passed since the Abyssal War, yet the scars of the past lingered. Humanity had rebuilt cities, reopened trade routes, and maintained Leviathan Hunter squads in constant readiness. Peace had arrived… superficially.
Beneath the crust of the planet, however, something much older than humanity stirred. Massive geometric constructs, buried under kilometers of ice, desert, and ocean, hummed with energy. Their resonance coursed through tectonic plates, across continents, and into the oceans.
From the deepest trench in the Pacific, a shadow moved. Its body glinted like crystalline metal, jagged limbs stretching farther than any Leviathan Kael or Lyra had ever encountered. Energy nodes along its body pulsed in patterns too complex to fully comprehend. Its awakening sent a harmonic resonance across the planet, stirring dormant Leviathans and ancient automated defenses.
"Lyra… do you feel that?" Kael Varden's voice was low, but every word carried gravity.
Lyra's console displayed anomalous readings. "It's… older than any Leviathan we've faced. It's… intelligent, Kael. It's not just a weapon—it's a sentient judgment system. And it's awake."
The world's surface trembled in response, and across every continent, human factions readied for conflict. The Ancient Leviathan creators had returned… even if only through their automated defenses.
Chapter 1 – Fractured Humanity
Kael and Lyra had returned from the last known Leviathan creator facility, carrying fragments of alien technology—machines capable of controlling Titans or destroying them outright.
But such power drew greed. Humanity fractured almost instantly:
The Aegis Collective claimed they would protect humanity, but their doctrine permitted eliminating anyone who resisted their control.
Crimson Obsidian, merciless opportunists, sought to weaponize Leviathan tech for profit and domination.
The United Coalition, remnants of governments, struggled to maintain order amid rising chaos.
Kael surveyed the rebuilt city of Sephira from the top of its council tower. Trade ships passed the harbor. Tower cranes stretched into the sky, reconstructing districts scarred from previous wars. But Kael's eyes saw beyond the surface.
"Lyra… humanity is breaking apart again. Every city, every settlement—factions are preparing to wage war over alien tech we barely understand."
Lyra's face was grim. "And the Titans… they're already waking. Automated defenses tied to the Ancient Leviathan network are reactivating. We can't fight the factions and the Titans at the same time."
Kael clenched his fists, scanning the horizon. "Then we do both. We stop the Ancient machines and prevent a new civil war… before the planet dies."
The First Contact
Within hours, seismic sensors detected movement deep beneath the Northern Ice Wastes. A massive construct, crystalline and jagged, emerged from a glacier. Its body towered higher than the tallest skyscrapers, with energy nodes forming a lattice across its body.
Lyra analyzed the readings in shock. "Kael… it's not just a Titan. It's a prototype from the original creators. Older, stronger, adaptive… it can manipulate other Titans remotely."
The city of Sephira trembled as far-field harmonic pulses rattled buildings. Automated defenses designed during the Abyssal War misfired, as the ancient Titan's energy disrupted modern tech.
Kael's voice was steady, commanding. "Prepare the Leviathan Hunters. We're going north. Now."
Faction Tensions Rise
The news of the awakening spread quickly:
Crimson Obsidian dispatched mercenaries to seize control of the ancient facility.
Aegis Collective demanded Kael turn over all alien tech to their council for "safekeeping."
United Coalition deployed remaining Hunter squads to protect civilian zones, but their forces were scattered.
Kael clenched his teeth. Humanity's enemies were no longer just Titans—they were humans themselves, divided and desperate for control.
Lyra tapped into her console, analyzing data from seismic pulses and Titan movements. "Kael… there's more. These ancient machines… they're part of a planetary-scale network. The first Titan we've seen isn't acting alone. It's awakening others, syncing them. If we don't move fast… every continent will face a coordinated assault."
Kael's jaw tightened. "Then we strike first. Every Titan we can find. Every node we can sever. Humanity survives—or it ends here."
The harmonic pulse intensified, echoing across continents. The Rise of the Ancients had begun.
