Chapter 18 - “Alive… But Not Safe”

I don't know who it was.

He said that Alka is with him and her life is in danger.

Hearing this, Vijay feels happy, but at the same time his breathing becomes heavy. He is happy because Alka is alive, but the thought that she is in someone's captivity and her life is at risk fills him with fear and concern.

Vijay tries to call that number again, but there is no use.

Then Vijay says to Ajay and Vishal,

"Guys, we need to go to the police and file a complaint. We don't know who this is or why they are doing this."

Hearing this, Vikas starts getting nervous. He says to Vijay,

"Why do we need to call the police? The police don't have enough time to waste on a missing person. And anyway, they only take responsibility after 24 hours of someone going missing. I don't think we should file a complaint. It won't help us—rather, it will cause trouble."

Listening to Vikas, Vijay gets convinced by his words.

"But then how will we find out who kidnapped Alka and why?"

Just then, Anam says,

"If you allow me, I want to say something. Maybe I can help you all."

Vijay, happily:

"What? But how?"

"Give me that number. I'll check its last location for you."

"Oh right! We didn't even think of that."

Vijay gives the number to Anam, and Anam uses his laptop to track its last location and tells Vijay.

As soon as Vijay sees the location—

"This location is near Nimtala Ghat. That means Alka must be somewhere there."

Vijay immediately rushes there and starts asking people around,

"Does anyone here know a place nearby where people don't usually go, and where the sound of a machine can be heard?"

After asking many people, Vijay finally finds the location. When he reaches there—

he sees Alka tied to a machine. There is a plate under her feet that is slowly moving her inside the machine. If she had gone inside, the machine would have cut her into small pieces.

But because Vijay arrives on time, he somehow stops the machine and saves Alka's life.

Alka is unconscious, so she doesn't know what happened to her. Vijay takes her to a nearby clinic, where the doctor treats her. After some time, when she regains consciousness, she sees Vijay.

"Vijay…"

"Yes, Alka."

Vijay helps her sit up. After a moment of silence, he asks,

"What happened to you? You fell into the water, but you didn't even call out once. Why?"

"Because as soon as I fell into the water, someone grabbed my throat from behind and kept me submerged until I lost consciousness. I tried a lot to call you, but…"

"It's okay. That's why I didn't want to bring you here. Because someone is after all of us."

"But why?"

"I don't know. You don't know this, but he has already killed three of my friends. And now he wants to kill all of us."

"Did you make a mistake, Vijay? I mean… did someone die because of you?"

"What are you saying? Why would I kill anyone?"

"Sorry, Vijay. That's not what I meant."

Vijay gently pats her head and says,

"You should rest now. I'll bring something for you to eat."

Just then, Ajay, Vikas, and Anam also arrive there. Everyone feels happy seeing Alka alive, but on Vikas's face, instead of happiness, there is a strange expression—as if he has lost a battle. Still, in front of everyone, he pretends to be happy.

"Thank God, Vijay, you reached there on time. Otherwise, we would have lost Alka."

"You know, Alka, Vijay was so worried when you disappeared—as if he hadn't just lost you, but the reason for his life."

"He even got a 140-degree fever!"

Saying this, everyone laughs and makes fun of Vijay. Alka also laughs along with them.

Vijay goes out of the clinic to bring food for Alka, while the others stay back and talk to her.

While talking, for some reason, Alka starts looking at Vikas in a strange way and feels a lot of anger toward him deep inside. But no one notices this.

Meanwhile, Inspector Akhil receives a call from the cyber cell.

"Hello, sir. Any information?"

"Yes. The videos that were sent to you—all of them were sent using Vijay's mobile IP address. But…"

"But what, sir?"

"But his phone wasn't actually used. Instead, some advanced technique was used to send those videos using his IP address—to you and to everyone in your department."

"Can you tell us who did this and how?"

"No. So far, we've only been able to find this much. This was done using some advanced method, so it's a bit difficult to trace."
