Chapter 47 - The Rampant Conductor

The command dome of M.E.G. Base Alpha was finally silent.

The fifteen Party Creators had been erased. Their pink corruption had receded completely. The blood on the floors had stopped spreading. Only the bodies of the fallen officers remained as grim evidence of the massacre.

Daniel Voss stood alone in the center of the devastation.

The golden baton trembled violently in his hand.

His breathing was ragged. Blood tears continued to pour from his eyes in thick streams, running down his face and dripping onto the marble floor.

The interface appeared — flickering erratically, its platinum-white edges glitching with static.

You are now entering Rampant State.

Daniel tried to dismiss the legion of souls, but his hands would not obey.

The summoned army still stood around him in perfect ranks — thousands of translucent figures waiting for orders that would never come. Their glowing eyes turned toward him, sensing the fracture in their master's mind.

A low, broken laugh escaped Daniel's throat.

It started quiet.

Then it grew.

His shoulders shook. Blood tears mixed with actual tears as the last thread of sanity snapped.

"I… I can't… stop…"

His voice cracked.

The Symphony of Dominion, no longer guided by conscious will, began to play on its own — a chaotic, discordant melody that warped the air around him. Golden notes twisted into jagged, screaming lines. The golden baton glowed erratically, pulsing between brilliant light and violent darkness.

Daniel's eyes widened, pupils dilating unnaturally.

He could no longer distinguish between friend and enemy.

The summoned souls — his own army — suddenly looked like threats. The empty dome looked like an endless battlefield. Every shadow became a Party Creator. Every flicker of light became another immortal foe.

He raised the baton with shaking hands.

"Stop… laughing…" he whispered hoarsely, even though no one was laughing.

Then he screamed.

"STOP LAUGHING!"

The Rampant State took full control.

Daniel lashed out wildly. The Symphony of Dominion unleashed uncontrolled waves of power — golden blasts that tore through the already damaged walls of the dome. The summoned souls scattered in confusion as their master attacked everything around him, including empty space.

He staggered forward, blood pouring from his eyes, mouth, and nose.

"I killed them… I killed all of them… but they're still here… I can hear them… the party… it never ends…"

His laughter mixed with sobs — broken, unhinged, terrifying.

The golden baton swung in wild arcs, rewriting reality at random. Sections of the floor turned into yellow Level 0 carpet. Other sections became blood-soaked Level 188 windows. The entire dome began to glitch between different infected levels.

Daniel dropped to his knees in the center of the chaos, clutching his head with both hands.

Sanity: 1 HP.

He could not stop.

He could not think.

He could only feel the overwhelming pressure of every soul he had ever claimed, every battle he had fought, every loss he had endured — all crashing down on him at once.

The Conductor had won the battle.

But in doing so, he had broken himself.

Daniel Voss — Pantheon Conductor, Chosen-0007 — had gone completely rampant.

And there was no one left in the dome to stop him.

The golden baton continued to glow erratically in his blood-stained hands as the last sane part of his mind screamed silently for help that would not come.

The war had been won.

But the Conductor had lost control of himself.
