After walking her to class I obviously had to sit right beside herAfter everyone piled up in the room Mrs Johnson finally entered the classroom looking like a grumpy breadcrumb
We started a new lesson but since I hate history I never pay attention she was rambling about some guy who did something very important or whatever she was saying
'All of you pay attention, Noah look at me instead of Avery '
I saw Avery turn red and I had to hide a chuckle
'As I was saying…..'
This time I paid attention for some reason well probably to save Avery's dignity but then Mrs Johnson said we had a group project
'You will have to do a group project on this topic ,a group will only consist of 2 people not more and not less ,this time I will let you pick your Partners so after picking them come here and let me register it'
I tap Avery on the shoulder and ask her ' want to be my partner?'
She turns red again and says 'partner….?'
'For the history project'i answer smiling at the look on her face
'For the.. ohh,ok'
'Let's go and register ourselves before someone comes and steals me'
'Steals you?' She asks
'Yeah ' I say jokingly 'being extremely popular is dangerous'
She rolled her eyes but followed me to the front of the class
Mrs Johnson raised her eyebrows 'names?' She asks us
I reply'Noah Carter and Avery…?'
'Avery Blake ' she reply's quietly
Mrs Johnson wrote our names on the list and nodded.'alright. Make sure your project is creative .I expect a lot from you two'
Me and Avery move to our seat when I notice Savannah staring at us from across the room like she's trying to murder us with her eyes, catching her eye i grab Avery's arm to see both Savannah and Avery's eyes narrow
'What' she whisper shouted to me
'Oh, nothing' i tell her
'If it's nothing I would like you to let go of my arm '
Realizing what I was doing I quickly let go of her arm and asked her 'wanna come to my house for the project?' Nonchalantly or at least I tried to be nonchalant
'Ok, I guess but I'll have to ask my mom though'
'Can you ask her right now?'i say 'I just want to be sure about who is going to whose house'
'Ok, let me just text her'
I let her go on with her business until she said,'my mom said ok'
'So it's all planned right, we're going to my house for the project,right,'
'Right' she answers
The bell rings signaling the end of the day and also saving us from that awkward moment that I created
'Can you give me your address and phone number so that I can pick you up?' I ask taking a chance to get her number
'I'll give you my address but not my phone number,I'll give you my family phones number though -' she adds '-it's always on loud speaker'
I guess she won't be making it easy
' okay then write it down and give it to me'i tell her
'You wait here I'll come back '
'No, I'll also come-'
She's already gone well she's lost in the crowd and I am trying to get through it but then someone says my name
'Noah!'
I look behind me to see who it is-
Just to see Savannah. Before I turn front Savannah says
' what are you doing walking around with such riff raff like that!' She says
' well, first of all don't call her riff raff since she is so much better than you, she's prettier, smarter and way better than you '
Savannah is marching up to me but then Avery's back
' Savannah get away from him or this time instead of you pouring water on my head it will be me pulling you fake blond extensions out of your head'
Savannah hesitated and then whispered' wait you'll regret this ' and went back
' well, I see that you can defend yourself against others'
'Yes I can and anyway thank you I never knew you thought that about me'she says
'Thought what?' I ask confused' thought ohh… you heard that ?'
'Yeah I did ,anyway here you go , my address and stuff , what time will you come?' She asks me
'It's three right now right, I guess around four thirty to five'
'Ok then I'll be ready till then anyway, bye, see you later,'
I hesitate 'do you want me to walk you to your home?' I ask
She replies 'oh ,no ,it's ok ,but thanks for offering '
We go our separate ways and I add her family's number on my phone
I got home, quickly changed my clothes and ate not having any patience because I already missed Avery now that I know how sweet she actually is.
I check my watch ,4 o'clock " ugh ,why can't time move faster " i complain to myself
I check my watch again-
" Finnaly it's 4: 30" i say to myself going to check myself in the mirror
I make my hair again and get in my car to drive to Avery's house
