Kami slowly walked toward the edge of the Lookout.
He gazed down at the endless sea of clouds below, as if recalling distant memories.
In a calm, low voice, he began telling the story of the past.
"Long, long ago, the being who later became Demon King Piccolo and I were actually the same person."
"At that time, I was known as a martial arts genius."
He paused briefly.
Then his eyes grew distant as he continued.
"One day, I heard rumors about the existence of Kami. I came here filled with admiration and a desire to challenge myself."
"However, gods are not eternal. Even a god's life will eventually come to an end."
"At that time, the old Kami was nearing the end of his life."
"I wanted to become his successor."
"With my strength, I believed it was only natural."
"But the old Kami refused."
Kami turned and looked at Son Goku.
"Even though he believed there was no one stronger than me on Earth at the time."
"Uh…" Goku scratched his head, only half understanding.

"Train here peacefully," Kami nodded.

"Three years?!" Goku looked surprised.
"That long?"

"Three years from now," Kami said slowly,

"Broly will appear."
"And Piccolo will also appear."

"I thought Demon King Piccolo was already—"

Then Kami explained.
"When Demon King Piccolo was released from his seal, he used a special technique of the Demon Clan."
"He created a new life inside his body."
"That life continued growing within him, absorbing his energy."
"When Broly killed him, that fully matured life burst out of his body."
"In order to avoid attracting Broly's attention, the dying Piccolo arranged for the new being to destroy the original body."

Kami's voice grew heavier.
