Chapter 3 - The Night of Power

That evening, the mansion of Alexander Volkov was brighter than usual.

Large golden lights illuminated the gardens, expensive cars arrived one after another, and the quiet house that Sara had seen the day before was suddenly full of powerful voices.

Sara stood near the large staircase, watching everything carefully. This was the first time she had seen the true world of the rich, Men in expensive suits.

Women wearing dresses that probably cost more than her entire life in the village. Every conversation sounded important, every laugh sounded controlled. Sara adjusted the simple dark dress Elena had given her for the evening.

"Remember," Elena had said earlier, "tonight important guests are coming. Just serve drinks and stay professional."

Sara nodded. But something inside her felt curious, who were these men that could turn an entire mansion into a palace of power? She didn't have to wait long to find out. Near the entrance hall, a group of men entered together.

Among them was Victor Hale, the billionaire who had visited earlier that day, he noticed Sara immediately. His sharp eyes followed her movements across the room. He smiled slightly, "Interesting," he murmured to himself.

But tonight, Victor Hale was not the most important guest. Another man walked in behind him and the moment he appeared, the atmosphere of the room changed. His name was Daniel Cross, in the world of technology and digital empires, Daniel Cross was considered a genius.

At thirty-nine years old, he had built one of the most powerful tech corporations in the world, his company controlled global data networks, artificial intelligence systems, and financial algorithms used by banks and governments.

People called him "The Architect of the Future."

Tall and calm, Daniel wore a simple black suit that somehow looked more expensive than everyone else's. Unlike Victor Hale's confident arrogance, Daniel Cross carried something different, cold intelligence.

The kind of mind that calculated everything.

Nothing escaped his attention. Not numbers. Not people And certainly not beauty.

Sara approached the group carefully with a tray of champagne glasses, Her movements were natural and elegant without trying to be.

Daniel Cross accepted a glass.

But when he lifted his eyes toward her ,He paused for a brief second, the brilliant mind of Daniel Cross stopped working, because the young woman standing in front of him was not something his logical world was prepared for. Beauty like hers was not mathematical.

It was chaotic, unpredictable, Dangerous.

Sara noticed his gaze. She gave a polite nod and turned away, but Daniel continued watching her.

Victor Hale noticed and suddenly, the small smile on Victor's face disappeared.

The game had already begun.

From the balcony above the main hall, Alexander Volkov watched everything. He had organized hundreds of gatherings like this before.Powerful men, business negotiations, political alliances.

But tonight something was different.

Every few seconds, the eyes of the guests returned to one person.

Sara.

Alexander's jaw tightened slightly.

He could already see the future forming.

Victor Hale watching her.

Daniel Cross noticing her.

And many others beginning to ask quiet questions. "Who is she?"

Alexander turned away from the balcony.

Because he understood something clearly.

Once powerful men begin competing for the same woman…

Peace never lasts long.

Back in the hall, Sara placed the empty glasses on a small table.

She could feel the attention in the room.

It wasn't new.

Men had looked at her like this since she was younger.

But here it felt different.

These were not farmers.

Not village boys.

These were men who controlled cities.

Empires.

Governments.

And yet

Their eyes looked the same.

Curious, interested, possessive. Sara didn't know their names. But she understood one thing, this world was far more dangerous than the one she had left behind.

Near the bar, Victor Hale approached Daniel Cross. "So," Victor said calmly, sipping his drink, "you noticed her too."

Daniel didn't pretend. "Yes."

Victor smiled slightly. "Beautiful."

Daniel's eyes followed Sara again, "Yes," he replied quietly.

"But beauty like that never comes without consequences."

Victor chuckled.

"In this city, consequences are just another challenge."

Daniel finally looked at him.

"And challenges sometimes become wars."

Victor's smile widened.

"I've never been afraid of war."

Upstairs, Alexander Volkov watched the conversation from a distance.

His expression remained calm.

But inside his mind, a thought had already formed.

Sara had arrived in his house only yesterday.

And already two of the most powerful men in Valmont had noticed her.

Alexander knew the nature of men like them.

Men who built empires did not walk away from things they wanted.

And soon, more men would arrive, more powerful, More dangerous.

Because somewhere in the city of Valmont. Four other powerful men had not yet met Sara.

But fate had already begun preparing their meeting.

And when all seven of them finally stood in the same room…

The story would no longer be about curiosity or admiration it would be about obsession and obsession, when combined with power could destroy everything.

Even the woman at the center of it all. 💔

Victor smiled slowly…

"Careful," he said.

"You're about to start something you can't control."
