Chapter 6 - The Second Billionaire

The moment Victor Hale stepped inside the Volkov mansion, the atmosphere shifted. It wasn't loud. It wasn't dramatic. But people felt it. Power had just entered the room.

The staff moved faster.

Voices became quieter.

Even the air itself seemed to tighten. Victor walked calmly through the entrance hall, his sharp eyes scanning everything around him. But in truth…

He was only looking for one person.

Sara, In the garden, Sara stood still after hearing that Victor Hale had arrived. Her heartbeat quickened slightly. She didn't know why.

Maybe it was Alexander's warning, or maybe it was the memory of that diamond necklace.

Alexander looked at her carefully "You don't have to meet him," he said.

Sara hesitated "But he's here because of me… right?"

Alexander didn't answer immediately.

That silence was enough.

Sara took a small breath "I'll talk to him."

Alexander's jaw tightened slightly "That's not a good idea."

Sara looked at him, a hint of stubbornness in her eyes "I can't hide forever."

For a moment, the two of them stood in silence.

Then Alexander nodded slowly "Fine."

But his voice became colder "I'll be there."

Back inside the mansion, Victor stopped near the center of the hall.

He didn't sit. He didn't speak. He simply waited.

Because men like him didn't chase, they attracted and right on time…

Sara walked in. Her steps were calm.

Her expression controlled.

But her natural beauty still carried that quiet power that had captured his attention from the beginning.

Victor smiled "There you are."

Sara stopped a few steps away "You shouldn't have come," she said softly.

Victor raised an eyebrow "And why is that?" , "Because I returned your gift."

Victor chuckled "Yes," he said calmly "I noticed."

His eyes locked onto hers "And I didn't like it."

Upstairs, behind the railing of the second floor, Alexander watched them.

Every movement. Every word.

His expression unreadable, But inside…

Something was shifting.

Back in the hall, Sara crossed her arms slightly "I didn't ask for it."

Victor stepped closer "I know.", "Then why send it?"

Victor's smile faded just a little "Because I wanted to."

Sara shook her head "That's not a good reason."

Victor leaned slightly closer, lowering his voice.

"For men like me… it's the only reason that matters."

Sara felt something change in his tone.

It wasn't just confidence anymore. It was control.

The kind of control that came from someone who had never been refused.

She took a small step back.

"I can't accept it."

Victor's eyes darkened slightly.

"You already did."

"No," she replied firmly.

"I didn't."

For a brief second, silence filled the space between them.

And for the first time in a very long time…

Victor Hale felt something unfamiliar.

Resistance.

At that exact moment, another voice entered the scene.

Calm.

Cold.

Precise.

"She's right."

Both Sara and Victor turned.

Standing near the entrance…

Was Daniel Cross.

Unlike Victor's bold presence, Daniel entered quietly.

But somehow…

His presence felt just as powerful.

He wore a dark suit, simple and perfect.

His eyes moved once across the room…

Then stopped on Sara.

For a brief moment, everything else disappeared.

Numbers.

Strategies.

Logic.

All replaced by something far more unpredictable.

Interest.

Victor's expression hardened slightly.

"Well," he said slowly,

"this is unexpected."

Daniel walked closer, completely calm.

"I was invited," he replied.

Victor smirked.

"Of course you were."

Daniel stopped beside Sara.

Not too close.

But close enough to make a point.

His eyes shifted to Victor.

"You should listen to her."

Victor let out a quiet laugh.

"And since when do you give advice about women?"

Daniel answered without hesitation.

"Since I saw one worth paying attention to."

The tension between the two men became instantly visible.

Two powerful figures.

Two completely different worlds.

But one shared interest.

Sara.

Upstairs, Alexander's hand tightened slightly on the railing.

This was exactly what he had predicted.

And it was happening faster than expected.

Back in the hall, Sara looked between the two men.

She didn't like the way they were speaking.

Not to each other.

But about her.

As if she was something to be discussed.

Something to be claimed.

"I'm not part of whatever this is," she said firmly.

Both men looked at her.

For a moment…

Neither spoke.

Because her voice carried something unexpected.

Strength.

Daniel was the first to respond.

"Of course not," he said calmly.

Victor tilted his head slightly.

"Not yet," he added.

Sara frowned.

"That's not funny."

Victor's smile returned.

"I'm not joking."

Before the situation could escalate further…

A third voice cut through the tension.

"That's enough."

Alexander Volkov walked down the stairs slowly.

Every step measured.

Every movement controlled.

When he reached the bottom, he stood between them.

Not aggressively.

But clearly.

"This is my house," he said calmly.

"And she works here."

His eyes moved from Victor to Daniel.

"Show some respect."

For a moment…

No one spoke.

Then Victor raised his hands slightly in mock surrender.

"Relax, Alexander. We're just talking."

Daniel remained silent, but his gaze stayed on Sara.

Observing.

Analyzing.

Alexander turned slightly toward Sara.

"You can go."

Sara hesitated.

She looked at him.

Then at Victor.

Then at Daniel.

And for the first time…

She felt something she hadn't expected when she came to the city.

Power.

Not theirs.

Hers.

Because somehow…

Without trying…

She had become the center of attention of men who controlled everything else.

Sara turned and walked away without another word.

But as she left the hall…

She could still feel their eyes on her.

Watching.

Following.

Wanting.

Behind her, the silence between the three men grew heavier.

Victor finally spoke.

"This is going to be interesting."

Daniel replied calmly.

"It already is."

Alexander said nothing.

But his expression had changed.

Because now it was clear.

This was no longer just curiosity.

It was the beginning of something far more dangerous.

A game of power.

Desire.

And control.

And at the center of it all…

Was one woman.

Sara.

And somewhere deep in the city of Valmont…

Whispers had already begun.

About a girl.

A beautiful girl.

A mysterious girl.

A girl who had captured the attention of two of the most powerful men in the city.

Soon…

Others would hear.

And when they did…

They would come.

Because men like them did not ignore something valuable.

They pursued it.

Fought for it.

And if necessary…

Destroyed everything for it. 🔥

The tension broke

And someone crossed the line.
