Chapter 10 - The First Fight

Power did not always announce itself with noise.

Sometimes…

It revealed itself in silence. Inside the Volkov mansion, the air had changed.

It was no longer just a gathering. No longer just a meeting of powerful men.

It was a battlefield.

Sara stood in the center of it.

Unmoving.

Unaware of how dangerous things had become. The red dress she wore had done more than change her appearance.

It had changed how they saw her.

Not as a servant. Not as a stranger.

But as something worth fighting for.

Leonardo Rossi still held her hand.

Not tightly but long enough.

Too long.

Victor Hale noticed first.

His eyes darkened.

"Rossi," he said calmly, "I think you've made your introduction."

Leonardo smiled without letting go immediately: "Relax," he replied smoothly. "I'm only being polite."

Daniel Cross watched everything in silence.

But his eyes missed nothing.

Not the tension. Not the subtle movements.

Not the shift in energy between the men.

Sara slowly pulled her hand back.

"I think I should go," she said quietly: "No."

The word came from Victor.

Cold.

Controlled.

Sara froze slightly.

Victor stepped closer: "You don't have to leave."

His tone softened, but only for her: "We're just getting started."

Before Sara could answer—

Alexander's voice cut through the room: "That's enough."

He walked toward them.

Each step steady.

Each movement filled with authority.

When he reached them, he stood between Sara and the others.

Subtle.

But clear.

"This is not a show," he said calmly: "And she's not part of your entertainment."

Leonardo chuckled softly: "You're taking this too seriously."

Alexander's eyes locked onto his: "I don't think I am."

Silence fell.

Victor tilted his head slightly: "Interesting," he murmured.

Then he stepped forward.

Slowly.

Deliberately.

"You're protecting her," Victor said, looking at Alexander.

Alexander didn't respond.

Victor's smile returned.

"But why?"

A pause.

"Because she works for you?"

Sara felt her heart tighten.

Daniel finally spoke.

"Or because she means something more?"

The question hung in the air.

Heavy.

Dangerous.

Alexander's expression didn't change.

But something in his eyes did.

"That's none of your concern."

Victor laughed softly.

"Oh, but it is."

And then—

He stepped too close.

The distance between him and Alexander disappeared.

For a second…

Nothing moved.

Then—

A hand grabbed Victor's arm.

Hard.

Alexander.

The room froze.

Victor looked down at the hand gripping him.

Then back up.

Slowly…

His smile faded.

"You should let go," Victor said quietly.

Alexander didn't move.

"Or what?" he replied.

The tension snapped.

Victor pushed his arm free.

Hard.

Alexander stepped forward instantly.

And for the first time—

The line was crossed.

They collided.

It wasn't a chaotic fight.

It wasn't wild.

It was controlled.

Precise.

Dangerous.

Victor swung first.

Alexander blocked.

A sharp movement.

A fast reaction.

Daniel stepped back.

Leonardo watched.

Interested.

Sara froze.

Her breath caught in her throat.

She had never seen anything like this.

Two powerful men

Not arguing. Not negotiating.

Fighting.

Because of her.

Victor moved again.

Faster this time.

Alexander didn't hesitate.

He struck back.

A hit. A step. A shift.

The sound echoed through the hall.

"Stop!"

Sara's voice.

Loud.

Clear.

For a second

Everything paused.

Victor stepped back slightly.

Breathing steady.

Eyes burning.

Alexander didn't move.

Sara stepped between them.

Her heart racing.

"This is insane," she said.

Her voice shook.

But she didn't step back.

Victor looked at her.

Then at Alexander.

And slowly… He smiled again.

"This is just the beginning."

Daniel's voice followed.

Cold.

Accurate.

"He's right."

Sara turned: "What?"

Daniel's eyes met hers: "Men like us don't stop once we start wanting something."

Silence.

Leonardo added softly:"And we don't like losing."

Sara felt it then.

Fully.

Clearly.

This wasn't about attention anymore. This wasn't about attraction.

This was a war.

And she was at the center of it.

Alexander stepped forward again.

"This ends now."

Victor shook his head.

"No."

A pause.

Then—

"I don't walk away."

Daniel added:

"Neither do I."

Leonardo smiled.

"And now…"

He looked at Sara.

"…neither will I."

The message was clear.

Three men.

Three powers.

One woman.

And none of them willing to step back.

Sara's chest tightened.

Her thoughts spinning.

What had she walked into?

And more importantly…

How would she get out?

Because deep down…

A truth had already formed.

There was no escape.

Not anymore.

Upstairs, unseen…

A shadow moved.

Adrian Wolfe.

Watching.

Silent.

Interested.

Because now…

It was no longer just a curiosity.

It was chaos.

And chaos…

Was where he thrived.

A slow smile appeared on his face.

"Good," he whispered.

Because the war had finally begun.🔥

His eyes met hers—

And everything else stopped.
