The Konoha Ninja Academy was a sea of noise, color, and nervous energy. It was the first day of the new semester, and the large gates were crowded with parents, younger siblings, and hundreds of children eager to start their journey as shinobi.
Ren Uchiha walked through the gates alone. He wore a simple black high-collared shirt with the red and white Uchiha fan emblazoned on the back. He didn't carry a bag, and his hands were tucked into his pockets.
To anyone else, he looked like a typical, stoic Uchiha child. But the way the older ninjas and teachers looked at him told a different story. They whispered behind their hands, pointing at the "Miracle Prodigy" who had already mastered the 3-Tomoe Sharingan.
"Sasuke! Wait for me! You're going too fast!"
A loud, energetic voice cut through the crowd.
Ren turned his head slightly. Walking toward the entrance was a small boy with spiky black hair and a very serious, competitive expression—Sasuke Uchiha. He looked exactly like the canon version, but he wasn't alone.
Running behind him, nearly tripping over his own feet, was a blonde-haired boy with bright blue eyes and three distinct whisker marks on each cheek. He was wearing a miniature version of the Fourth Hokage's cloak over his orange jumpsuit.
Naruto Uzumaki.
Because Minato was alive, Naruto wasn't the "Demon Child." He wasn't the lonely orphan who painted on the Hokage monument to get attention. He was the "Prince of the Leaf." He was loud, boisterous, and a bit of a brat, but his eyes were filled with an innocent light that the original Naruto never had at this age.
"Naruto, shut up! You're embarrassing me!" Sasuke snapped, though he didn't actually look annoyed. They were clearly best friends—a rivalry built on brotherhood rather than hatred.
Naruto grinned, his hands behind his head. "I'm just excited, Sasuke! Dad says if I become the top of the class, he'll teach me the Rasengan!"
Naruto was running so fast that he didn't see the person standing in his path.
*Oof!*
Naruto slammed into Ren's back. It was like a bird flying into a stone wall. Naruto bounced off and fell flat on his butt, his little Hokage cloak tangling around his legs.
"Hey! Watch where you're—" Naruto started to yell, rubbing his sore nose.
But then he looked up. He saw Ren's eyes.
Even without the Sharingan active, Ren's gaze was heavy. It was the gaze of someone who had seen too much, someone whose soul didn't match his body.
Naruto's eyes widened. He felt a strange, humming sensation in his chest. His own massive chakra reserves, usually wild and unruly, suddenly calmed down in the presence of Ren's 'Tail-Beast Vitality'.
"Whoa..." Naruto whispered. "Your chakra... it feels so... warm. Like a sun."
Ren looked down at the boy who would one day save the world.

Ren felt a massive wave of heat flood his limbs. He felt like he could run around the entire Land of Fire without breaking a sweat. His muscles felt denser, his senses even sharper.
"I'm Naruto! The future Hokage!" Naruto shouted, jumping up and pointing at his chest. "What's your name? You're an Uchiha, right?"
Sasuke walked up, looking at Ren with a sharp, competitive gaze. "Of course he's an Uchiha, idiot. Look at the fan. This is Ren. My father says he's the greatest genius the clan has ever produced."
Sasuke stepped closer to Ren, his eyes narrow. "Is it true? Do you really have the 3-Tomoe Sharingan already?"
Ren looked at the two "Children of Destiny." He was five years old, protected by the Hokage, armed with the Sharingan and Uzumaki vitality, and fueled by a burning need for revenge against Danzo.
The Academy wasn't a school for him. It was a hunting ground.
"I'm Ren," he said, a cold, predatory smile appearing on his face. "And yes, Sasuke. I have the eyes. If you want to see them... you'd better make sure you can keep up."
Ren walked past them toward the classroom, leaving the two boys staring at his back.
"Whoa..." Naruto breathed. "He's so cool!"
"Hmph," Sasuke muttered, his fists clenching. "Just you wait, Ren. I'll surpass you. I have to."
Inside his mind, Ren was already checking his map. *Classroom 301. My first target: The Aburame kid. I need those bugs for my sensory network.*
The legend of the Uchiha Ghost had officially begun.
