Below him, he saw the trap.
Shisui was standing in a clearing, surrounded by ten ROOT ANBU. They wore standard masks, but their equipment was specialized—sealing tags, paralyzing gas bombs, and chakra-suppression chains.
In the center of the circle stood Danzo Shimura. He looked smug, his cane planted firmly in the dirt.
"I expected more from the 'Body Flicker' God," Danzo rasped. "To walk blindly into a meeting with a man you know hates your kind... your idealism is your greatest weakness, Shisui."
Shisui was on one knee, his right eye socket bleeding. Danzo had already stolen his right eye using a hidden Izanagi trap. "Danzo... why? The Hokage... he approved the plan..."
"Hiruzen is a fool who thinks words can stop a war," Danzo said, stepping closer. "Only power can stop a war. And your eyes are the ultimate power. Give me the other one, and I might let the rest of your clan live a few days longer."
Shisui's remaining Mangekyō spun frantically. "I won't let you... I won't let you have it!"
"Kill him," Danzo ordered.
The ten ROOT agents lunged at once, their blades gleaming with poison.
"Fire Release: Azure Great Fireball!"
A massive, roaring blast of blue flame erupted from the trees, incinerating the air and turning the dirt into glass. The heat was so intense that the ROOT agents were forced to abort their attacks just to avoid being burned alive.
Ren landed in the center of the clearing, his back to Shisui.
He didn't wear a mask. He didn't hide his face. He stood there, a seven-year-old child, but his aura was that of a demon.
"Who are you?!" Danzo screamed, his face twisted in rage. "Identify yourself!"
Ren didn't answer. He turned his head slightly, his Jogan glowing with a terrifying, pulsing blue light.
"I'm the orphan you forgot to kill, Danzo," Ren said.
Ren vanished.
He appeared in front of the nearest ROOT agent. Before the man could even raise his sword, Ren's hand—reinforced by 'Sage Body'—pierced through the man's chest.
*Rip.*
Ren pulled his hand out, holding the man's still-beating heart. He dropped it in the dirt and moved to the next one.
It wasn't a fight. It was an execution.
Ren moved with the 'God-Level Body Flicker,' appearing and disappearing like a glitch in reality. To the ROOT agents, it looked like there were ten Rens attacking them at once.
*Crack! Snap! Squelch!*
In less than ten seconds, nine of the ROOT agents were dead. The last one tried to use a summoning scroll, but Ren appeared behind him and snapped his neck before the seal could even activate.
Now, only Danzo remained.
The old man was trembling, his eyes wide with a terror he hadn't felt since the Second Great Ninja War. "Those eyes... that speed... You're the Uchiha prodigy... Ren!"
"Recognize me now?" Ren asked, walking toward him. "I saw what you did to my parents, Danzo. I saw their eyes in your arm."
Danzo's face paled. "You... you shouldn't know that! Kill him! Use the seals!"
Danzo tried to weave a sign, but Ren was already there. Ren grabbed Danzo's bandaged arm and squeezed.
*CRUNCH.*
The sound of shattering bone echoed through the clearing. Danzo screamed as his arm was turned into pulp.
"You're not worth killing yet," Ren whispered. "I want you to live. I want you to watch as I take everything you've built."
Ren turned to Shisui, who was fading fast. Shisui's left eye was still active, but his chakra was nearly gone.
"Ren... take it..." Shisui wheezed, reaching for his left eye. "Don't let him... don't let the village suffer..."
Ren looked at the Mangekyō.

Ren felt the power flow into his Jogan. The blue energy began to swirl with a dark, violet hue.

Ren's vision exploded. He didn't just see the world; he saw the *possibilities* of the world. He could see the "ghosts" of where Danzo would be in five seconds. He could see the structural weaknesses in the very space around him.
He looked at Danzo. The old man was trying to use a hidden kunai to stab him.
Ren didn't even move. He simply "perceived" the strike. The kunai passed through Ren's body as if he were made of smoke—a momentary displacement of his physical form into a sub-dimension.
"Impossible..." Danzo gasped.
Ren grabbed Shisui and vanished.
They appeared at the top of the cliff. Shisui was unconscious. Ren placed his hand on Shisui's chest, pouring a massive amount of 'Tail-Beast Vitality' into him.
"You'll live, Shisui. But the world will think you're dead," Ren said. He pushed Shisui off the cliff into the river, knowing that his 'Vitality' would keep the man alive until he reached the safe house Ren had prepared.

Ren stood on the cliff, the wind ruffling his hair. He looked toward the moon.
The Uchiha Massacre was still coming. But now, he had the eyes of a God, a System store, and his first "Shadow General" in the making.
