Arc 3 chapter 42
Third Zone
Albert and Alex were battling as if there's no tomorrow. They've been at it for a long time now and both showed no sign of stopping as Alex released more fire attacks at Albert, but he kept dodging them and closing in the distance. Every time Albert tried to counter Alex would sense him right away and catch the attacks.
Both their auras were on burst mode, but neither seemed to be running out, making the battle field even more unstable as tons of rocks and rock pillars were collapsing due to the waves.
Albert threw a multiple [lighting strikes LV5] at Alex, but he deflected them all and pushed forward to hit Albert with [rapid fire punch LV4] to land multiple hits.
Albert didn't take much damage, but he kept some distance.
Albert: HA HAHAHA YES!!! Finally! You did it! You finally know how to control your mana now! Look at you! We've been going for hours and your mana hasn't lost control one bit and you've been in aura burst all along and didn't even go berserk!
Alex:....
Albert: look at you! Look how powerful you are! You always had it in you kid! I knew it wasn't a waste of time!!! My investment has paid in satisfactory!
Alex: investment?
Albert: did I say that outloud? Sorry.
Alex: No it's cool, matter of fact I'm happy you feel that way... I never had anyone be happy for my achievements before.... Everyone just couldn't wait to see me fall back at the Ember clan cuz I'm son of a barbarian woman,... I never got to talk much with my father either soo yeah I'll take whatever compliment you throw to heart.
Albert: (scoffs) how about Sion?
Alex: he compliments me on every little thing and I'm kinda tired of it (scratches his head)
Albert: ok then, how do you feel about your body now?
Alex:... Now that you mention it, I feel light? My body is a bit... Well in pain right now.
Albert: (laughs)
Alex: but it feels way lighter... Like... I can do anything! What is this?
Albert: you finally claimed back what was yours from birth.
Alex: soo... Is the berserk thing gone or?
Albert: oh no it's still there, but the only way it's coming out is if you let it or when someone/something tempers with your mana. But if not then you're in total control now, soo... Congratulations!!! Alex Ember you passed the training.
Alex: (throws his fist up) YES!!!
Albert: well I think its about time we got out of here.
Alex: yeah... This place is a mess. We almost destroyed the whole thing.
Albert: this is nothing, I remember your father destroyed a sub dimension with 10 layers on it.
Alex: what?! That's impossible!
Albert: trust me, he did... Him and your mom... They always scared the shit out of me before I could get used to living around them (laughs)... (sigh) the good old days huh.
Alex: do you miss the Great Storm party unc?
Albert: yes I do... I bet the others would tell that I don't deserve to feel this way, cuz I walked away first.
Alex: that's not true and you know it. You had to raise Lucia.
Albert: Lynn tells me the same thing (sigh) well let's get out of here.
Alex: sure.
Alex and Albert finally got out of the sub dimension and the portal closed. The moment they got outside Albert started to tense up and seemed to be looking around a bit restless.
Alex: ayo you cool?
Albert: we're gonna need elixirs to restore our mana and quick!
Alex: what's going on?!
Albert: we have an intruder! Rachel and Martha are nowhere to be found and Milly and Kali are barely hanging on!
Alex: Then there's no time for elixirs! And where's Sion and Alga?
Albert: they're way too far away and don't worry about the elixirs cuz we placed them at the training hall's entrance.
Alex: then what are we waiting around for?
Albert: your new gear that we wanted to surprise you guys with... Oh there it is! (went and took out a lot of adventurer's equipment that was hidden at the walls and took out the one with Alex's name on it and gave it to Alex) try that on and tell me what you think?
Alex: (wears the equipment)... This equipment... What is it made of? It's amazing, but right now it's not the time!
Albert: yeah, let's get the elixirs and head for the mansion!
Now about Alex's new equipment. First the body armor was a red/crimson armor that matched his hair color, it had openings on parts of his body so that it does not restrict movement since Alex is straight forward and a little bit of a speed based fighter. The armor was made of red scales that seemed to absorb any kind of fire and heat, meaning it was fire resistant and a C-class item.
His sword was a blade filled with fire type mana and it was called the Fallen's feather, based out of the fire attribute god "Fallen the God of love". The blade looked like a giant feather but well curved and quite sharp though it's class is a mystery.
He also had a heart shaped necklace that enhances fire attribute abilities and restores mana by 10% when you run out.
Now that you looked at him, he looks like some devoted worshipper of Fallen.
They grabbed the elixirs at the entrance and drinked some of them and headed for the mansion where the threat was.
Back to the present:
Edwick: last time we fought you were a monster far beyond compare, but now you've down graded a bit... You're no longer the same.
Albert: fatherhood man, you should've tried it too.
Edwick: shut up! [quick draw]
Albert: [quick draw]
Albert's and Edwick's swords clashed with each other in a very fast speeds and then started clashing with each other parying each other's swords in unbelievable speeds.
Alex instantly realized that this fight was out of his league and focused on trying to tend to Kali and Milly who looked beaten up and Milly was left with one arm.
Milly: (regenerating her arm) Alex, I'm glad you guys are here, at least now the chances might shift in our favor.
Kali: Alex! (hugs him, but quickly let's go) it's not like I was dying to see you or anything... hmmp!
Alex: (scoffs) I was dying to see you too.
Kali: (red face) anyways we gotta try and help Albert out?
Milly: no, we'll be just getting on his way... And precise I have a feeling something is about to go down in the City.
Alex: why is that?
Milly: the only person that I know of that can break barriers is Gaari the head of the city's financial guild. If he turned then you can trust he dragged a bunch of people with him.
Kali: what does that mean?
Alex: I'm not fond of politics, but I'm guessing a civil war will break out right?
Milly: yes.
Kali: but how and why?
Milly: pride... Have you seen Lotus City now? Not only does it have elves, now human and beast-folk walk among us. And though it may be good in an outsiders perspective, some elves don't agree with this and as a result some political parties are not fond of the others making two different factions in Lotus city's leadership. And I fear the director might be in danger because of this... Well both the Ducher family and the director's family are in danger if Gaari has made his move now.
Just when Milly was explaining this, a sound of an explosion came from the center of the city.
The center of the city was heavily damaged by the explosion and the nearby buildings were destroyed and there were many casualties among the people. Kids were injured and people were screaming, but it did not end there as more explosions came one after another in random places of the city.
The meeting was still ongoing when this destruction started and the director Lazark was in a state of cluelessness as to what is going on, but he quickly recovered and looked at everybody around him.
Lazark: everyone! We must quickly evacuat the people!
Gaari: yeah that's not happening.
Lazark: what?!
Gaari: your streak ends here director. [wind slash LV8]
Lazark got sliced in half right in front of everyone and his insides splattered on the ground and his blood started pouring out the room. Nalik quickly reacted and unleashed a huge tree root at Gaari, but it was burned down by Dagen's [fire blast].
After seeing this Nalik quickly retreated using a teleportation spell but Taaro couldn't escape in time and got sliced into pieces by Gaari. Alga tried to react but got ambushed from behind by Lik holding a dagger at his neck.
Lik: don't fucking move!
Alga:..... Fuck!
