You know my life wasn't so bad, I had a pretty good family, before this whole reincarnation thing. I grew up as an only child for 9 years of my life, which was pretty nice.
Though I did get abused by my parents and life without a sibling was lonely at times. I still enjoyed my life. Like it wasn't all bad, I think they call that character building or whatever.
Anyways as you can guess I had a sibling at 9 years old, and well he got sent away to private school in another country. So I never really got to know him.
Highschool was fun, meeting new people, trying new things, it was all a blast.
Even after I turned 25 years old, becoming a truck driver wasn't all bad. I got to meet new people, got amazing views of snow covered mountains, great flowing rivers and clean blue lakes. Nature is beautiful.
Even after my mother went insane from stress. She spent all of her time talking to herself and screaming at night. (She might be battling demons)
Even when my father developed a hooker problem and went off to become a passport bro. I still enjoyed life.
But this reincarnation kinda sucked. like first off why am I so hungry? I'm super dizzy, right after regaining consciousness. How did I get here? Is this a bad prank? Shouldn't I be the hero? Maybe a noble? Or at least welcomed? The only reason I know I'm not in my original body, is because my fingers and arms are so small and boney. I'm probably around 12 years old now.
I tried to remember what I was doing in my previous life, before being sent over here, but all I got was a massive headache. It took me a while to gather myself. Like why am I in a forest? Caught in a net, Upside down?
When you reincarnate, aren't you supposed to have a warm lovely mother holding you in her arms, and a father beside her laughing loudly and
smiling. While you cry or make baby sounds. Where's my soft blanket and warm milk? Where's my new loving family? Where's my easy life?
Here I was, in a dark forest, in the cold, dizzy, hungry, crying, all alone. This isn't fair at all. I want a refund! Give me a redo! I didn't even get to see truck-kun, or an omnipotent white figure. Where are my blessings for a new life? Where are my cheats? Special abilities? This is one of the worst reincarnations ever!
As I calmed down from my small mental breakdown, I looked around and sighed with relief, at least I'm wearing clothes. Well they looked more like dirty old rags, you use to clean the floors, full of holes and missing patches of fabric. If you saw me yourself, you could probably tell I was a beggar. Most likely an orphan too.
Well at least I'm not naked. While checking out my new outfit, the first good thing about today is that I am still a male I checked by pressing my thighs together.
Yes, I still have an egg roll and two grapes. At least I won't have periods. While trying to survive in the forest of nowhere. So I'm lucky in that department.
I started trying to use my hands, but they were stiff from the cold air. So I brought them to my face, and started exhaling to warm them up. As I warmed my hands, I looked around and the sun seemed to be going down. The forest was vibrant with colour and life. I heard birds and insects all around. The air was clear and clean, fresh like when you're on a camping trip or hiking a mountain trail.
I was short on sunlight. To make things worse I heard bushes ruffling, and tree branches whistling from the wind. The sounds made me nervous of what was out there. I shivered from the cold air or maybe, the fear of the unknown. I started to get nervous because I didn't know what's out there. The air has gotten somewhat humid. I started to feel wet or maybe I'm wet from my own sweat.
I started huffing and puffing, like a big bad wolf. After I gotten my hands warm enough, I grab the knife from my hip and try to cut myself out. It was a rusty, dull knife. It's better to call it a metal stick in the shape of a knife.
But it was the only thing I had at the moment. So I cut and cut. I held on to the net with my left hand and with my teeth. Kicked out my legs and tried to spread the net to create some tension. I could feel the nets fibers coming apart, then finally I heard a crisp snap, and I knew I had just cut through the net.
After the net was open, I fell down on my back. I guess I didn't really plan for the falling part. The fall wasn't so bad, since It was only about a meter high, I probably got some light bruising. At least I didn't stab myself while falling.
"I'm free!" I looked around, and it was almost completely dark, the sun was fully setting. I reattached the knife to my hip with the leather strap.
My stomach rumbled and I was once again reminded that I was cold, hungry and not alone. I was in a dangerous place, where potential predators roamed. I don't know if there were magical beasts, but I didn't want to find out just yet.
I had just spawned, and I didn't want it to be game over already.
So I covered myself with mud and I found a big tree to climb. My plan was to sleep on the thick branches for the long night. As the wind blew past the trees, I found the whistling wind kinda soothing in a creepy way. As I calmed down and closed my eyes I finally got some rest from the hectic day. At least I was still alive.
I was woken up by a screaming animal. I didn't know which, but at least I didn't need to go to the wash room anymore. I needed to find a water source or I was going to be the next animal screaming in this forest.
Note to self never tell anyone about this embarrassing situation. I smelled like a construction site portable, or the washroom at the parks that never gets cleaned. I was scared of the predators. I think they could track me down via smell, with all of it, in my pants.
As I walked, I walked some more, then kept walking.... I realized I didn't know how to find water.
"Haha." I laughed to myself, holding back my tears. Fear ran through me. I tripped and fell multiple times on myself. I scratched myself from thorny bushes, and flowers. Now I smelled like a nurse's worst nightmare, doo doo and blood.
So I kept on walking until I heard some rustling from the bushes behind me and started running. I tripped and fell some more. Covering my wounds with dirt and mud. I probably looked like a brown dirt snowman. All I'm missing is a black top hat.
"HAHAHAH!" I laughed out loud with tears, flowing from my eyes, with snot sliding past my cheeks.
After what felt like hours I heard a low hissing sound, I brightened up and knew that's a sound of water. Or a snake monster…..
Luckily I was right, just a small river flowing with some medium sized fish. It's about a 3 meter wide river. It looked safe to swim in. The water is flowing slowly.
I scooped up water to my mouth, and then drank till I was bloated, then proceeded to jump into the river. I bathed myself and washed my embarrassment away. The water was cool and refreshing. It brightened my spirits and lifted my morale.
"I'm sorry Mr. and Mrs. Fish, I can only hope you guys are okay." I said to the fish in the river.
After taking a nice wash, the sun peaked through the tree canopies giving first days light and much needed warming from the cold river water.
Now that I had a water source, I needed food, I was still starving. So I headed over to find a flat rock and tried to sharpen my rusty knife, because you can't hunt if you don't have an effective weapon.
I sharpened my knife to the best of my ability. I then made marks on trees and dug branches into the ground to make a guide for my way back the river. The name I gave the river was Fish River.
I spent hours hunting, but found almost nothing. And when I did find something, which was a small brown bunny rabbit, I lost the bast***, since he's so fast and I was so weak I can't keep up.
"I'll catch you eventually Mr. Bunny" I swore to myself back then.
After the failure of the hunting trip. I made my way back to Fish River. I drank some water and watched the swimming fishes.
Then I remembered something called spear fishing. So I broke a few thick branches to find a good strong stick and tried to carve my own wooden spears.
Well it took me the rest of the day but eventually. I produced a few sharp wooden sticks.
"Hooray!' It was a new achievement. A monkey with a stick. Yeah I was that monkey, because when I tried spear fishing I had nothing to show for it. It was a waste of time and energy.
It was an exhausting day, but at least I was safe. I have to stay positive.
I drank some more water then covered myself with mud and climbed a big tree, then I went to bed.
After a good night's sleep I woke up to the sounds of birds crying and chirping. You know nature is really beautiful if it wasn't so dangerous.
Once again I took my daily bath, drank some water, then thought of how to find food. At this point, I realized that I need more time and experience to live out in the wild.
As I watched the fish swim around. I noticed that at some points, deep into the river the fish can only swim straight. I wondered if I could force the fish to swim in a straight line. I can most definitely catch one with my sharp stick.
"I'm a genius!' I screamed out aloud and dances around. With this goal in mind I got started.
'
My idea was by making a dam where it forces the water to funnel. Thus forcing the fish to swim in a straight line.
I spent all my waking hours trying to make this dam. I slept, then woke, quenched my thirst, bathed to remove the mud. Then moved rocks and large logs, on repeat, minute after minute, hour after hour, day by day.
On my sixth day, I was mostly skin and bones.
At some point I lost my mind. Suffering from weakness and hunger, my muscles ached and screamed for rest. I seemed to have forgotten why I'm moving rocks and logs in the first place.
I was just doing these actions because I was used to it.
I didn't sleep anymore, or maybe I couldn't sleep? I didn't remember. I sat down in the river. I was dizzy and everything was spinning. At some point I felt a fish approach my hand.
"Huh?" I held on to it and pulled it out of the water. Then I dragged it with all my strength and left it near a tree and watched it struggle and flap around.
When it stopped moving. I grabbed it and bit into it. Blood dripped from my mouth.
It tasted terrible, like a strong fishy flavour and metallic tang of the blood. It was uncomfortable to chew. The fish came alive with a new purpose, after I bit into it, and started flapping in my hands. After a fierce struggle, I bit harder into it, I think it dislocated my jaw. After a while it finally gave up. And I had my first meal.
After that fish, I think I passed out. I don't remember falling asleep.
