Waking, from the warm sun shining down on me. My head has a big bump on the left side of my face. I rubbed the bump and pushed my jaw back into place. I head over to the fish river. And appreciate my fortified dam.
It just looked like a bunch of rocks and logs stacked on each other, a complete mess. Super unsafe with lots of leaks. I could see at least 6 water leaks.
I washed my face from all the dirt and fish blood.
I grabbed some mud and small stones and fixed them into place, so after a while I filled in the leaks. Then I headed to the end point of the dam and waited with my spear.
I catched four fishes. The first fish was just under a pound, the second and third fish were just over a pound, and the last fish was a big one, a 2 pound fish. I gotten a decent haul and I started gutting them and descaling in the river.
Now I needed to make a campfire. Since I wanted to cook and eat the fish I caught, I couldn't keep eating fish raw. The fish could have had some parasites, that one probably didn't right?
I dug a few inches deeper into the ground making a small circle. Grabbed a few rocks and made a rock circle around the pit, and looked for some dead tree branches and leaves.
I didn't really know how to make a fire. All I knew was friction makes heat. If I made enough friction with dry leaves nearby. I might be able to make a fire with a bit of luck.
With my stack of flammable material near by the camp fire. I start carving into a flat tree branch to make a small indent. Then I found a somewhat straight stick . Placed some dried leaves within the indent.
Now for the worse part actually starting the fire. I sat down criss-cross apple sauce and placed the flat branch on my lap. Then placed the stick on the leaves. Hopefully the leaves catch fire.
With both hands I rolled the stick while pushing down. I started off strong, I even turned the leaves into ashes. But I didn't have a flame, I was exhausted.
I seemed to forget that I was in a child's body. I placed down the flat branch and round stick. And headed off to find some branches, to strip to make some rope.
I stripped the bark from the young branches, twisted the fibers and made a decent rope for my purpose. I found another stick and bent it into a bow shape and tied up the ends. Then I grabbed a flat stone and headed back to the camp fire pit.
I sat back down criss-cross apple sauce, and placed the flat branch on my lap again. I refilled the indent with dry leaves. I grabbed the round stick, and twisted the rope of the bow around it. Making one loop around the middle of the stick. I placed the stick on the leaves within the indent.
I then grabbed the flat stone with my left hand, and placed it on top of the other end of the stick to keep it in place. I grabbed the bow with my right hand and moved it side to side as fast as I could.
"Eureka!' I made a small ember. I was so excited I lost focus and it went out.
If you can do it once, you can do it again. Learning from my past mistake, when I produced my second ember. I piled up leaves to work as fuel and blew air into the pile to feed the flames.
I have made a fire. From a monkey with a stick, to a caveman with fire. Nice, I was evolving. .
With my camp fire I roasted the smallest fish by the fire and then made a makeshift smoking rack, with 3 large sticks set up in a triangle. And a few sticks in between to act as a base to hang the fish to smoke.
So I spent my days spear fishing, cooking and smoking fish. The rest of the time is spent on making wood fibers to make my fish net.
"low and behold the great…..?" I couldn't seem to remember my name? Anyways I finished the fish net and that's all that matters.
I set two big rocks at the end of my funnel dam and anchored my fishing net. Now I have unlimited fish to eat.
I spent 3 days making the fish net and I can feel my body getting stronger from all the fish meat. I was gaining weight, which is good. My new goal was to train my weak body into something that can survive this deadly forest. My body weight is about 130 pounds now.
I started with simple body weight training and jogging. Push ups, sit ups, pull puts and squats. I jogged about 10 kilometres a day.
After three weeks of progressive training, my body is now in great shape. Well not really I'm just delusional. I did get stronger, but the effects were more obvious. Since I had malnutrition before.
I gained about 10 pounds. So my total weight is 140 pounds, but I was having trouble eating. The taste of fish grossed me out, the smell now completely disgusts me.
Anyways I was not going to let the fish go to waste so I smoked most of the caught fish, just to save for emergencies. I had about a month's worth of food.
I think it was time to look for something else to eat. Maybe it's time for my real hunt?
I headed out to the great unknown marking the trees and planting sticks and breaking them in the direction of the Fish River.
I spent hours walking and sneaking. Trying to look for animal tracks or hear the rustle of bushes and leaves.
I came up empty handed. But I kept looking. It wasn't until it was getting dark that I started heading back to Fish River.
On my way back, I saw a group of deer. Normally I would be happy finding my first prey, but you know since my luck is terrible.
Right next to the group of deer were a large pack of wolves surrounding my prey, in a C shape formation. They must be a breed of Giant Wolves. Since they were as big as a donkey, or the same size as a little Vietnamese woman, on a motorcycle. Same height and length.
Anyways I was sweating bullets. Maybe it is true what they say, predators can smell fear. Because half the pack turned around and started growling at me.
I know I'm not the smartest person, but I'm not dumb enough to jump head first into a pack of Giant Wolves. So I booked it and ran straight away, not making any eye contact.
As I was making my way back to Fish River I was wondering, why my leg was wet since it wasn't raining. I touched my pants and smelled the liquid.
It was yellow rain water, I swear!
When I arrived home, I jumped into the Fish River. I drank some water, took a quick wash and went to sleep.
I went back to body weight training, and added into knife and spear welding. I'm not skilled but at least I'm not clumsy anymore. At some point I found some nice round rocks and dropped them on other rocks for entertainment.
Guess what happened? One of them broke into a rectangular shape. I had an idea, why don't I make a shovel. I used other rocks to chip away at the rectangular rock to make it into a shovelhead. I then used a small rock to drill a hole into it so I could fit in a wooden stick to make a handle.
This was a two week project.
I finally produced a shovel? Something like that. Now I can dig pits for my "Outside activities."
After a while I got really good at digging pits.
I started making pit traps with extra sharp wood spikes, and started working on my underground home.
The underground home was a slow progress, probably going to take about 4 weeks or more to finish.
In the meantime I set up about 10 pit traps about 1 meter deep and a meter wide. The pit traps are about 20 to 25 meters away from home base. The underground home is going to be about 5 square meters. I encountered some rocks so they were moved to reinforce the dam, and other rocks were used as a foundation of the home.
Now all I need is a roof and I'm set.
I covered the pit traps with thin branches and leaves . Then placed plants or fish meat on top of them, to bait prey.
After three days of waiting, my luck had changed. I found one bunny rabbit punctured through the leg, and a big wild boar punctured through the stomach. I did my usual routine, bled them, skinned them and smoked the meat.
I then took out the wood spikes and filled the pit. Since I know the smell of blood will scare off the next set of prey. I made two new pit traps to replace the two used ones.
After tanning and smoking, I'm thinking of turning the rabbit hide into a water flasks, and turning the boar skin into a blanket. The cold forest night is quite unbearable.
After another week I caught a turkey and another bunny. I did a little dance to celebrate and collected the spoils. I collected the longest and strongest turkey feathers to make arrows, and bunny hide for another water flask. I refill the pit and make new pit traps to replace the used ones.
After a few weeks of new food, my weight increased to 160 pounds, but now I'm feeling a bit overweight.
I'm thinking of creating workout equipment. Since body weight exercises aren't much of a challenge anymore.
At some point I have an emotional episode.
I sit down, and cry. And then think to myself, what's the point?
My life is now safe-ish, but loneliness is the real danger.
Not the wolves or other predators.
If there's danger I can just run away, but with depression no matter how far I run.
It always catches up.
I talk to myself even more now since I have no one else to talk to.
I'm scared, I might forget how to speak otherwise.
I spend a day laying on the dirt floor, while self loathing.
After waking up from my pit home, I cooked up some fish and puked a bit afterwards. Then started my workout and started finding some thick branches to split. I needed to make a roof and a door hatch. My work is slow and unskilled. Another three days of crying and talking to myself.
As I wake up, and finish my daily routine I finally finish my roof, and door hatch. I brought over leaves and covered my home.
I think and talk to myself for the rest of the day. Then I think about my family. My brother is probably going to high school now.
My father will probably go looking for ("new fun things to do.")
My mother is probably at home talking to herself just like me right now...….
Do I want to be like my mother? I got reincarnated, am I just going to cry myself to death?
NO! I don't want that! NO!
I don't want to be like her!
I want to learn magic! Cast spells! Ride dragons!
F**K all this sad S**T, I need to survive.I CAN'T DIE A VIRGIN! NOT AGAIN!
How sad would it be to die a virgin in both lives?
"AHAHAHAHA!"
So I lost my mind for a bit, but I'm back.
It just goes to show, even if you have your basic needs met.
You can still be sad and waste away. If you give up hope and have nothing to live for.
I learned today that my motive and drive is family.
I want to have a big family of 100 kids. What?! Pervert?! ME?
No, I'm your classic family man. With a big smile.
To recap, I have a safe underground home, a fish net with lots of fish caught daily, two flasks of water, a sharpened rusty knife, a few sharp sticks, a leather blanket, some turkey feathers, 10 active pit traps and crazy diarrhoea. Since I haven't been boiling my drinking water. I should probably start doing that.
