Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: Losing a Few Million is Considered Financial Loss?

As the eldest brother among the younger generation of the Jiang Family, Jiang Huai always wore a smile on his face, yet almost no one dared to disobey him.

Sometimes, his words were even more effective than those of their own parents.

Just like Jiang Su, who, after catching the warning look in Jiang Huai's eyes, promptly shut his mouth and didn't utter another word.

Lu Xuexi glanced at Jiang Huai before silently lowering her gaze, her expression unreadable.

Nanny Wu was quickly taken away by the villa's security to be kept under watch, but this matter was not easy to handle.

On the surface, Nanny Wu had not stolen any property from the Jiang Family. Calling the police was out of the question. At most, it would be considered feudal superstition. After all, "stealing the Aura of Wealth" had no basis in reality.

However, after such an incident, Nanny Wu certainly could not remain in the Jiang Family.

"Eldest Young Lady, how should we handle these things?" the butler asked Guan Xuxu. Regardless of how she knew those items were buried there, it was clear that this newly returned young lady had some tricks up her sleeve.

"Just burn them."

After saying that, Guan Xuxu took out her phone and tapped on it. From the corner of his eye, Jiang Huai saw that she had just taken the hundred thousand he sent her and immediately transferred fifty thousand to another account.

Jiang Huai raised an eyebrow secretly but did not ask. What was hers was hers; she could spend it however she pleased.

Upstairs in the villa's grand study, the butler reported the events in the garden to Old Master Jiang.

"...Mingzhou dug up the items in the flowerbed. They should be what the Eldest Young Lady called the tools used to steal the Jiang Family's Aura of Wealth."

Old Master Jiang was somewhat surprised. "That child actually understands such things?"

The butler thought for a moment and said, "It might have just been a coincidence. The surveillance shows the items were buried a month ago. According to the Eldest Young Lady,

the Jiang Family should have already lost part of its fortune. However, I checked with the Senior CEO Jiang afterward, and neither the company nor the household has suffered any financial loss lately."

In other words, the things Nanny Wu buried had no effect, so the credibility of Guan Xuxu's words was still up for debate.

Old Master Jiang listened thoughtfully, then simply smiled. "It seems it's just a little hobby of the child's. No matter, as long as it's harmless, let her be."

As for Nanny Wu, even if she had failed, since she harbored ill intentions, she naturally couldn't stay in the Jiang Family.

Meanwhile, Guan Xuxu's first reaction upon hearing that the Jiang Family hadn't suffered any losses was disbelief. "Impossible."

Even if it was only a tiny amount, Nanny Wu had definitely stolen a portion of the Jiang Family's Aura of Wealth. That single wisp of fortune was enough to bring Nanny Wu's family a windfall.

Guan Xuxu was absolutely certain of this.

Jiang Su, who had been wondering if he was being too judgmental after Xuxu correctly predicted Nanny Wu's actions, let out a scoff when he heard the butler's report.

"I told you someone was just bluffing! Stealing fortune? I've never even heard of such a thing!"

Guan Xuxu shot him a look that clearly told the "bear child" to stay away from her.

Then, she turned directly to Jiang Huai. "Just have someone check the bank accounts of Nanny Wu and her son over the past month, and you'll know."

Jiang Huai was also curious about his sister's abilities and didn't find it troublesome. He made a call, and the investigation results were sent to his phone shortly after.

The moment he saw the results, Jiang Huai's expression turned subtly complex.

Jiang Su and Lu Xuexi were both curious and couldn't help but lean in to see the answer.

Jiang Huai silently tucked his phone away and looked at Guan Xuxu. "The Wu family did indeed receive a windfall recently. They won a five-million-yuan lottery."

Guan Xuxu immediately gave him a "see, I told you" look. She knew she hadn't seen wrong.

"Fortune is like a see-saw. If that side gained five million, the Jiang Family must have suffered a corresponding loss of several million."

Guan Xuxu spoke seriously, leaving Jiang Huai momentarily speechless.

"A project at a branch company did run into some trouble last week, resulting in a loss of several million."

However, that amount of money wasn't something he bothered himself with, let alone Jiang Yucheng, the Senior CEO.

"When you mentioned financial loss, I thought you meant at least a few hundred million. I didn't realize it was only a few million," Jiang Huai said, acting as if it wasn't that he had forgotten, but that Xuxu's choice of words had misled him.

Guan Xuxu: "..."

So, it wasn't that the fortune hadn't been siphoned away; it was just that the amount stolen was like a single strand of cow hair to the Jiang Family. It was the kind of loss they wouldn't even notice.

Tch, the evil rich.

Even though she was now a member of the Jiang Family, she couldn't help but feel a twinge of envy.

"Nanny Wu's son lost all the family's savings to gambling a few months ago. Last month, he was arrested for drunk driving resulting in death. The victim's family is demanding two million in compensation before they'll sign a Settlement Release.

Nanny Wu likely resorted to stealing the Jiang Family's Aura of Wealth because of this." Once Nanny Wu's tracks were exposed, she confessed everything. It took Jiang Huai less than an hour to uncover the reason behind it.

When Guan Xuxu heard it was a death caused by drunk driving, she instinctively linked it to the Yin Sha she had seen on Nanny Wu. But in an instant, she realized something was wrong.

If it was Nanny Wu's son who had killed someone, Nanny Wu would have only been indirectly tainted by Yin Sha. However, the energy on her body seemed to have settled directly on her...

She thought for a moment and asked Jiang Huai, "Can I see a photo of Nanny Wu's son?"

Jiang Huai was very pleased that Xuxu had adapted to being his sister in such a short time and knew to ask her brother for help. He sent out a message and quickly received a photo of the son.

As she enlarged the photo on the phone, Guan Xuxu frowned immediately.

"Something's wrong. This person shouldn't have this kind of face." As she spoke, she asked for the man's Eight Characters of Birth Time. She took three Tongbao Coins from the mini bag at her waist and performed a divination on the spot.

Standing to the side, Jiang Su looked on with disdain and let out a low snort.

"Tch! The ghost-and-god act never ends with you, does it?"

Guan Xuxu ignored him and finished her divination quickly. Her delicate face had grown quite solemn.

Jiang Su tried to gain some attention again, asking sarcastically, "Well? Did your finger-counting tell you there's some bloody disaster coming?"

He had seen it before those fortunetellers under overpasses loved saying things like that. He still didn't believe Guan Xuxu had any real talent.

Guan Xuxu ignored him and spoke directly to Jiang Huai. "Based on this man's Eight Characters, he should have a fate of Innate Fated Idiocy. In Buddhism, there are the Eight Wisdoms.

If a person committed grave sins in their past life but wishes to be reincarnated as a human in this life, they are deprived of one wisdom, leaving them born as a simpleton. However, this man now possesses all Eight Wisdoms. Nanny Wu must have used some other means to turn him into a normal person."

But Nanny Wu likely didn't know that if a person who did evil in their past life was born an idiot, restoring their intelligence was equivalent to defying heaven to change fate. Not only would their lifespan be shortened, but they would also easily grow into a wicked person.

Nanny Wu's son was an inveterate gambler and a killer through drunk driving these were clearly the evil consequences of his restored intelligence.

Guan Xuxu was speaking in the living room and didn't bother to lower her voice. Nearby, another nanny had been listening intently. Hearing this, she clearly had something to say but was hesitating, wary of her status.
