Chapter 19: The Road to the Capital
The threat of Solomon the Silent hung over the Graveyard of Titans like a suffocating shroud. An S-Rank Evolver was more than just a powerful human; they were a natural disaster in human form.
"Leo, we can't face an S-Rank," Jud said, his voice cracking as they retreated toward the Aerie. "Solomon is a legend. They say he solo-cleared a Rank-5 Portal using nothing but his bare hands and his soul-intent."
"I know," Leo said, his eyes fixed on Nova, the Void-Star Eater currently napping in the crook of his arm. The kitten-like creature was casually chewing on a high-grade Spirit Stone as if it were a biscuit. "But he gave us seven days. He made the mistake of giving a Breeder time to prepare."
The Seven-Day Evolution Plan
Leo didn't waste a second. As soon as they returned to the Heart-Fire Sanctuary, he activated the Domain's Final Tier using the massive hoard of spirit stones looted from the Leviathan.
[DING!]
[Breeder's Domain Upgraded to Tier 3: 'The Origin Plane']
[New Feature Unlocked: 'Genetic Fusion Forge']
[New Feature Unlocked: 'Time-Flow Synchronization']
"Kaelin, Jud—get in the Forge," Leo commanded.
"The what?" Kaelin asked, eyeing the swirling vortex of golden and violet energy that had appeared in the center of the Domain.
"The Forge doesn't just evolve beasts," Leo explained. "It allows the Contractor to absorb a portion of their beast's physical essence permanently. If we're going to fight Solomon, we can't have 'human' weaknesses. We need the durability of a turtle and the gravity of a titan."
Day 1-3: Breaking the Human Limit
Inside the Origin Plane, the trio underwent a transformation that would have been considered heresy by the government.
Jud Gus: Fused 10% of the Continental Toad's core. His skin took on a faint, metallic luster, and his weight tripled, though he moved with eerie grace. He no longer needed the Toad to manipulate gravity; he was a gravity anchor.
Kaelin: Fused with the Shadow-Panther's phase-essence. She became semi-transparent in low light, her reflexes twitching at the speed of thought.
Leo: He didn't fuse with one beast. He used Sovereign's Mirror to act as the central node for all his pets—Grim, Nova, and the rescued misfits. His hair turned a stark, glowing white, and his eyes transitioned from gold to a deep, swirling nebula.
[Host Level Jump: 15 -> 42 (Peak Gold)]
[New Passive: 'Overlord's Presence' – All beasts within 1 mile feel an instinctive urge to obey.]
Day 4-6: Feeding the Star
While Jud and Kaelin trained, Leo focused entirely on Nova. The Void-Star Eater was a bottomless pit. Leo fed it the "Anti-Life" metal from the Bureau drones, the remaining Marrow from the Titans, and even a few of his own father's lightning-infused artifacts.
[Nova Level: 1 -> 30]
[Skill Unlocked: 'Event Horizon' – Creates a zone where time and light are trapped.]
"She's ready," Leo whispered, watching Nova play with a ball of pure plasma.
Day 7: The Return to Earth
The seven days were up. Instead of waiting for Solomon to come to the Primal Realm, Leo decided to take the fight to the source.
They arrived at the Great Portal of the Capital at noon. Thousands of civilians and news drones were gathered. The government had broadcasted Solomon's ultimatum to show the world the "consequences of rebellion."
Solomon stood in the center of the plaza, his gray robes fluttering in a wind that didn't exist. He looked up as a rift opened in the sky.
Leo descended, riding atop Grim, who was now so large his shadow covered the entire plaza. Beside him dived Jud and Kaelin, looking like war-gods of a forgotten era.
"You came," Solomon said, his voice not heard with ears, but felt as a vibration in the soul. "And you brought the child of stars. Wise."
"I didn't bring her for you, Solomon," Leo said, stepping off Grim's back and hovering in the air through pure mana density. "I brought her to watch me dismantle the lie that the 'Pillars' are invincible."
The Showdown Begins
Solomon didn't summon a beast. He simply raised a hand.
The air in the plaza turned into solid lead. The "S-Rank Pressure" was enough to make the reinforced concrete of the buildings crack. Ordinary humans fainted instantly.
"Kneel, boy," Solomon commanded.
"Not today," Leo replied. "Domain Expansion: Heart-Fire Sanctuary!"
For the first time in history, a Breeder didn't just summon a pet; he summoned his entire world. The plaza was overwritten by the Jade-Essence Lake and the Star-Iron mountains of Leo's Domain.
The S-Rank pressure was neutralized.
"Now," Leo smirked, "let's see how the 'First Pillar' handles a pet that eats S-Rank intentions for breakfast."
Nova hopped off Leo's shoulder, her galaxy-fur bristling. She let out a tiny, high-pitched roar, and the space around Solomon began to warp into a black hole.
The Battle of the Capital has begun.
