Loreen's POV
Loreen kept his voice even. "Was that how you acquired the late queen's book?" he asked.
Sairis blinked at him. Just once. A small pause, but Loreen caught it immediately.
"Yes," Sairis said after a moment. "During an auction. I think what caught me was the name on the book. So I decided to get it, mostly to annoy my tutor. He strangely had the same name."
Loreen looked forward again so Sairis would not see his eyes change. Was that how he had acquired the book, and not because he was Sairis Locke? Loreen thought. Or was it another cover?
He did not push further. Not yet.
Instead, he asked something safer. "The last time, you said you had not read all the pages. How about now?"
Sairis arched a brow. "I've read that book more times than I could count." He muttered.
