Loreen's POV
Loreen stepped out of the room and pulled the door shut behind him.
The first thing he saw was Marsden, standing in the corridor with the face of a man who had been waiting too long and had used every minute of that wait to build up a thorough and well organised irritation.
His arms were at his sides and his jaw was tight and he was looking at Loreen the way he always looked at him when he had done something Marsden considered deeply unwise.
A few steps further down the corridor, Kaid was leaning against the stone wall with his arms crossed and his usual scowl settled firmly on his face. He said nothing. He rarely did. But the scowl said enough.
Loreen looked at Marsden. "Is there a reason you knocked?" he asked. "I was occupied."
Marsden's nostrils moved. His eyes slid briefly to the closed door behind Loreen and then came back. "He is in there, is he not," he said.
Loreen arched a brow. "Is that supposed to be a question?"
