Chapter 7 - Omensight

'Omensight? What the hell is that? Wasn't it a game? But wait, how does she know, even though she was confused some moments ago?' Emil wondered.

Dr. Turner turned to her in confusion, too. He was bewildered at the revelation.

"Gwen, did you know?" Dr. Turner asked her.

"No. At least not from the start. But my Omensight set an alarm when I first looked at her. Then, there was also this glow in her eyes that only people with Omensight have. And the third-" Gwen explained while being on guard.

"When she guessed my age, right?" Lysander grinned while fiddling with his sword.

'The hell? Yeah, I did notice that her eyes were glowy, but I thought that happens to everyone with power. Does that mean that even my eyes glowed?' Emil frowned.

Dr. Turner was contemplating everything.

After pondering for some time, he finally spoke, "I am aware of the luminescent fact. But can it be used with different abilities?"

"Good job, Doc, finally asking the right questions, the answer is yes and no."

"What do you mean?" Dr. Turner raised his eyebrows.

"Well, how many people with omensight exist in our world, Doc?"

"Gwen, Sneha, and now...Emily." Dr. Turner replied.

"There you go. Out of them, Gwen was the only one with multiple abilities, while Sneha only had one more apart from omensight?"

"Yes..." Dr. Turner answered.

"Sneha's omensight is on another level. Gwen's more of an intuition alarm or aura reading?" Lysander looked at Gwen with a mocking smile.

"Hmm..." Dr. Turner hummed.

"Other savants who don't have omensight can easily use more than one ability. But what happened to Sneha when she tried to do the same?"

Dr. Turner's eyes widened. He shivered as he recalled that devastating incident. His eyes were somber.

"She lost her ability...to speak."

"Great, but there were no consequences for this girl. That means, she is the same as Gwen, or even a stronger Omensight user."

Now, Dr. Aria was interested and asked, "How do you know that?"

He moved toward Gwen, the distance between them shrinking with each step.

"How do I know?" He said chillingly.

The air in the room shifted. One moment, Lysander was standing near Gwen. Next, he was behind Emil, sword drawn, ready to take his head.

Emil, who had not been able to use his powers since coming to the hospital, saw Lysander vanish out of his sight.

'What the, where did he--'

"Stop it. Don't you ever dare to do that again." Emily snapped.

She was floating in the air, her hazel eyes bright again, her hands stretched out toward Emil.

Emil was in awe of what he was seeing. Still, he couldn't understand what was going on. He gazed in the direction of Gwen, and she wasn't there. Dr. Turner's eyes were wide, arms outstretched as he ran toward him. Dr. Aria whimpered behind him.

'Where is Gwen? What is going on?'

"Ooooh, two protective ladies, you sure are a lucky kid." An ominous voice came from behind Emil.

As he heard that voice, Something cold settled at the base of his neck. He wavered, but finally decided to turn his head in the direction of the voice.

Lysander was suspended in the air, with his sword aimed towards his head. Gwen was there too, behind Lysander, aiming her sword towards Lysander's head.

'When did either of them move?' Emil was shocked and terrified by the scene.

"Hey, Princess, you can lower your sword, and brat, calm down, I won't do anything further," Lysander said while grinning.

Emily continued to stay in the same posture.

"Brat, do you really think I can't get out of this?" Lysander said ominously.

The air in the room shifted. But before he could act, Gwen spoke.

"Emily, it's fine, you can stop, and it's not like you can stop him forever," Gwen said in a stern voice, lowering her sword.

Emily tilted her head towards her. She looked into Gwen's eyes and then lowered her hands. The glow in her eyes dimmed. She started levitating down. Emil watched her and ran to her to give her support so she wouldn't hurt her ankle.

"Are you ok?"Emil asked her, barely keeping his voice steady.

"Yup,ouch!" She said while trying to get her feet on the ground.

The moment Emily lowered her hands, Lysander dropped freely. In an instant, Gwen was gone from behind Lysander and standing between him and Emil.

Lysander looked at Gwen, glaring at her with his mocking grin.

"Now do you get it, Dr. Aria?" Lysander tilted his head towards Dr. Aria with a devious smile on his face.

"That means..." Dr. Aria opened her mouth to speak when she was interrupted.

"Bingo, that brat has better Omensight than Gwen. Gwen could only react thanks to her Riftstep ability. But she doesn't have that. So, how can that brat stop me?" He asked while turning toward Emily.

"Farsight? Can she see future events?" Dr. Turner said with a confused frown on his face.

"Ah, it's been a long time since I have been with smart people. She knew I was going to do that. But Miss Princess here doesn't have that, and the most important question is, is there a limit to her farsight like Sneha?" Lysander asked, turning towards Dr. Turner with his sword resting on his shoulder.

"ENOUGH!" Emil screamed, his eyes filled with tears, shot through with red.

The whole room went silent. Everyone looked at him with shock. Even Emily shuddered.

"STOP! All of you," He glanced at Gwen. "We are not part of this stupid superhero thingy, whatever this all is. My sister is not some experimental rat. Who do you think you are? Yes, she got powers, SO WHAT? She NEVER asked for it. You people can have your tantrums to yourself. I'll be leaving with my sister once we have recovered." He pierced his gaze on Lysander.

Lysander looked at him for a while. He brought his sword down on the ground and forced a smile.

"Oh, so the rat has finally spoken. I thought you were dumb. And leave? Let me tell you one thing, rat. The moment you were attacked with that abomination, your fate was sealed." Lysander snarled, his fist tightening around nothing.

For the first time since his arrival, it felt neither sarcasm nor a test.

"Leave? Where are you going to leave? To your parents in the ground." Lysander said, each word measured and cold.

"Stop it." A faint cry escaped Emil's mouth.

Lysander closed the distance between Emil and him. He let go of his sword while walking toward him.

"Don't you get it, bastard? Everything you ever had is gone. Your mom, dad, and even your grandma are all dead. You pathetic fool, if it weren't for Gwen and your sister, you wouldn't be alive anymore." Lysander looked at him with his eyes burning.

"Lysander, BACK off." Gwen raised her voice while pushing Lysander away from Emil.

Lysander looked at Gwen, then took his steps backwards. He took his sword off the ground. Sheathed it. Looked at everyone. Sighed a little. Then wore that ominous smile again and started walking toward the door.

"Hey, Doc, make sure they are fine in three days. I'll tell those bastards they need time to recover. But the next time," He stopped, looked back at Gwen, "Even you won't be able to stop me, Princess."

Just as he was about to step through the door.

"I can see at least 3 days into the future."
