Haruto walked through the forest.
I only have around 2 Reo and 40 Peny.
In Tenzu, Reo is the main currency, while Peny are smaller coins.
I'm pretty sure 1 Reo is around 100 dollars in our world.
Raichi had given him 5 Reo, but unfortunately, he had already spent 3.6 of it. With what remained, he might survive for one week—but he needed more money if he wanted to live longer.
I can't even use rituals… the only thing I have is a rifle.
A rifle wasn't bad for hunting, but in this world, it felt almost useless. Most people relied on rituals for combat.
That means Tenzu creatures are far stronger than those in my world.
Suddenly, a scream echoed through the forest.
Haruto stopped and focused.
Where did that come from…?
A moment later, he pinpointed it.
East side.
Without hesitation, he ran.
Soon, he saw something.
Quickly, he hid behind a tree.
And then… he realized what he was looking at.
A giant mammoth stood in the clearing, its massive body towering over crushed human corpses. Right in front of Haruto, the mammoth stomped on another human, killing them instantly.
Even ritual users… couldn't defeat it.
After a while, the mammoth left the area.
Haruto slowly stepped out.
It killed five ritual users… probably hunters. Let me check if there's anything useful.
He began searching the area.
Soon, he found a note.
"Hunter job…"
I see… so I have to go west to find the hunter job center.
He continued searching and found several items.
Most of them enhanced ritual power.
These aren't very useful to me… since I can't use rituals.
Still…
I can at least sell them.
As he was about to leave, something caught his eye.
A crystal.
He froze.
Wait… I know this.
"It's a Lizam Artifact."
It was extremely rare in Tenzu. His father had told him about it long ago.
This crystal could absorb rituals and store them. Later, when exposed to heat, it would release a random stored ritual.
Haruto's eyes sharpened.
This… could actually work for me.
After that, Haruto headed west and eventually found the hunter job center.
He walked inside.
"Can I get a hunter job?" Haruto asked.
"Sure," the man replied. "But first, you must complete one of three conditions."
The man showed him a poster.
To obtain a hunter license:
1. Kill 100 wolves and bring proof
2. Kill 50 bears and bring proof
3. Kill 1 mammoth and bring proof
I see…
But before that, I need money to prepare.
He sold all the ritual-enhancing items except the Lizam Artifact.
In total, he earned 8 Reo.
Then he bought some materials.
"Can I get a place to make something?" Haruto asked.
"Over there," the man replied, pointing to a table and chair.
Haruto sat down and began working.
He bought gloves, leather, and metal parts.
After some time… he created something.
A glove.
He cut the crystal in half and placed each part at the center of each palm, designing the glove so the crystal directly touched his skin.
If I rub my gloves against my clothes, it will create a small amount of heat…
Even a little heat was enough.
And when the crystal heats up, it releases energy… that flows into my brain.
Which meant—
If the crystal absorbs rituals… I might be able to use them.
After finishing, he left the center and headed into the forest to hunt bears.
Bears are easier than wolves…
Wolves required large numbers. Bears were fewer but stronger—better for his situation.
Suddenly, a noise reached his ears.
He turned.
A man stood there.
Brown hair, muscular body, no shirt—only a bear fur cape covering his back. His body was filled with scars. In his hand, he held a massive cleaver.
Without warning—
He attacked.
Haruto dodged.
The cleaver swung again.
Haruto lowered his head, barely avoiding it.
Another attack.
Another dodge.
But this time—
Haruto moved behind him.
With full force, he struck the back of the man's neck.
The man collapsed.
Unconscious.
Haruto lifted him onto his shoulder.
He might be useful… if I can talk to him properly.
As he continued walking, he suddenly noticed another person sitting near a river.
Haruto hesitated.
What should I do…?
Suddenly, the person turned.
And smiled.
"Oh, are you lost?" he asked.
He had yellow hair, wore a cloak with a hood, and carried a katana.
"No, I'm hunting," Haruto replied.
"Oh… so you're going for the hunter job."
His eyes shifted to the unconscious man.
"Oh, your partner's injured? Bring him here."
Haruto walked over and laid the man down.
"I knocked him out. He attacked me."
"He'll wake up soon," the stranger said calmly.
Then he smiled.
"My name is Ryuk Himejima."
"Haruto Tabata."
Haruto stared at him carefully.
He looks… different.
More like someone from Japan.
So Haruto tested him.
In English, he asked:
"Are you Japanese?"
Ryuk's eyes widened slightly.
"Oh, you're from Earth? Nice. I'm Japanese too."
Haruto froze.
"So I was right… I'm also from Japan. And I think this guy might be too."
Ryuk examined the unconscious man.
"Yeah… probably."
Then he looked back.
"Tell me everything."
Haruto explained his situation.
After listening, Ryuk smiled.
"Then let me join you. I also want to return to Earth. I'm a swordsman."
Haruto agreed.
Soon, the man woke up.
His weapon was gone.
Ryuk explained everything.
They learned his name—
Leo.
After hearing everything, Leo agreed to join them.
Then Haruto asked:
"How did you get here?"
Ryuk replied,
"Teleport incidents have been happening on Earth for a long time."
"What do you mean?"
"When I came here, it was 2026 on Earth. But the incidents started in 2016… in Japan."
Haruto's mind froze.
That means… the past changed?
Was I the first? Did I cause this?
Because at my time in between 2016-2026 there is no teleport incident happening
That means the past have changed
And also that means after my teleportation this incident begins to happen
And main question is why does the past changed and why it only happens in Japan.
Even why the teleportation incident with me happened
Something is related to my father
He thought in his mind
But he said nothing.
They shared timelines.
Ryuk: Teleported at 14 → now 16 (2 years in Tenzu)
Leo: Teleported at 6 → now 16 (10 years in Tenzu)
So people arrive at different times…
Leo explained his past.
He survived alone in the forest.
At age 10, he found a legendary weapon—
The Wolf Cleaver.
He lived for battle.
Ryuk's story was simpler.
He stole a sword and a book.
Trained for 2 years.
Became a swordsman.
Then Ryuk tried explaining rituals to Leo.
30 minutes later—
Leo understood nothing.
Ryuk snapped.
"You dumb wild pig—your brain is worse than a donkey!"
Leo got angry.
And bit his head.
They started fighting like idiots.
Night fell.
After the chaos—
Haruto spoke:
"We should hunt the mammoth."
Ryuk nodded.
Leo said:
"That thing is strong. I tried before. We need traps."
Haruto replied:
"Leo, lure it. Ryuk, help me prepare."
They agreed.
The trap was set.
Haruto hid.
Ryuk waited on a tree.
A rope held two massive rocks.
Then—
Leo appeared.
Running.
The mammoth chased him.
Perfect timing.
Ryuk cut the rope.
The rocks crashed down—
Crushing the mammoth's skull.
It died instantly.
Leo stood on it proudly.
"Haha! I defeated it!"
At the center—
Haruto received his hunter license.
Morning arrived.
"Thanks," Haruto said. "I couldn't have done it without you."
"No problem," Ryuk replied.
Suddenly—
Leo ran ahead.
"I'm going to find stronger opponents!"
"HEY! STOP, YOU PIG!" Ryuk shouted, chasing him.
Haruto followed.
"I hope this journey… goes well."
His face remained emotionless.
Far away—
A man in a cloak watched them.
His face hidden.
His eyes fixed on Haruto.
