JAY-JAY POV
We thought detention would end after the principal yelled at us.
Instead…
we got trapped in school overnight.
Just Section E.
Cin, Calix, David, Rory, Edrix, Eren, Mayo, Kit, Yuri, Denzel, Eman, Josh, Keifer, Felix, Blaster, Drew…
And me.
The principal stood in front of the classroom, arms crossed.
"You will all stay here tonight."
Groans immediately filled the room.
Rory looked offended.
"Overnight detention should actually be illegal."
"Keep talking," the principal warned.
He shut up instantly.
I looked around the classroom slowly.
Hard floor.
Uncomfortable chairs.
Bright lights.
Then I looked back at her.
"Ma'am," I said, "we don't even have beds here. How are we supposed to sleep?"
The principal stared at me for a second.
Then suddenly turned toward the staff outside.
"Remove everything."
The whole room blinked.
Benches got dragged outside.
Desks were pushed away.
The floor was cleaned.
Then mattresses were brought in.
Pillows.
Blankets.
Everything arranged neatly across the floor.
Cin looked around in disbelief.
"…This detention got upgraded."
David dropped dramatically onto a mattress.
"I forgive the education system."
Then more staff entered carrying bags.
Night suits.
Actual night suits.
The principal spoke calmly.
"I had your things sent from your homes."
Nobody even questioned it.
At this point, she scared us enough for it to seem possible.
I grabbed the bag with my name on it and walked to the bathroom to change.
And when I came back out—
the room went silent.
I instantly regretted existing.
The silky red wine colored night suit felt soft against my skin, elegant and comfortable at the same time.
Too elegant.
Because every single idiot in the room stared for a second too long.
Especially Keifer.
He leaned back slowly against the wall, eyes locked on me shamelessly.
Then he smiled.
That stupid dangerous smile.
"…You're actually trying to kill me tonight."
"Shut up," I said immediately.
Cin gasped dramatically.
"BRO IS DOWN BAD."
Everyone burst out laughing.
I rolled my eyes and walked past them quickly.
But of course—
Keifer moved his leg slightly into my path.
Not enough to trip me.
Just enough to annoy me.
I stopped instantly.
"Move."
He tilted his head innocently.
"You look pretty."
My eye twitched.
"I said move."
"You're blushing."
"I'm angry."
"Same thing with you."
The boys behind him started losing their minds.
Felix nearly fell over laughing.
Drew whispered loudly, "He's insane."
Keifer only kept looking at me like he enjoyed making me nervous.
And the worst part?
He did.
Because he knew exactly what he was doing.
I crossed my arms.
"You flirt like your life depends on it."
He smirked immediately.
"Right now it kinda does."
I hated how fast my heartbeat reacted.
Absolutely hated it.
So I looked away from him instantly.
Bad decision.
Because Yuri was sitting nearby watching the entire thing calmly.
Unlike Keifer's teasing expression…
Yuri looked softer.
Familiar.
Safe.
He patted the empty space beside him.
"Sit here, Jay."
No teasing.
No games.
Just Yuri being Yuri.
And because we used to always stay together before everything became complicated…
I sat beside him naturally.
Keifer's smile disappeared immediately.
The room noticed.
Oh, they definitely noticed.
Cin looked between all three of us like he was watching a drama series live.
Yuri handed me one of the pillows quietly.
"You okay?"
His voice softened slightly on the last part.
And that annoyed me in a different way because Yuri always knew when I was overwhelmed.
"I'm fine," I muttered.
"You're glaring at Keifer every five seconds."
"Because he's annoying."
Keifer spoke instantly from across the room.
"You still keep looking at me though."
I grabbed the nearest pillow and threw it directly at his face.
The room exploded.
Even Yuri laughed quietly beside me.
Keifer caught the pillow easily.
Then hugged it dramatically.
"A gift? I'm touched."
"You're impossible."
"And you still like talking to me."
"I literally don't."
"Your attention says otherwise."
I wanted to throw another pillow.
Maybe several.
But the stupid thing was—
the more I ignored him, the more entertained he became.
And the more he flirted…
the more nervous I got.
Which made me even angrier.
The principal suddenly looked directly at me.
"And you," she said flatly, "are more dangerous than all the boys combined."
The classroom erupted instantly.
Cin pointed at me dramatically.
"THE PRINCIPAL CONFIRMED IT."
I buried my face in a pillow.
"I hate this section."
Keifer laughed quietly.
Low.
Warm.
Completely entertained.
Then he looked straight at me again and said softly—
"No you don't."
And somehow…
that was the only thing that made me speechless all night.
