Chapter 10 - Not enough

Silence didn't last long.

It broke.

Kabir clenched his fists.

"…Oberoi?"

His voice carried disbelief.

"Don't tell me he's from that Oberoi family."

Aisha didn't answer immediately.

Her eyes were still fixed on the direction Reyansh had left.

"…Yeah," she said quietly.

"Same one."

Kabir let out a breath.

"…Great. So he's rich and crazy."

Ishaan didn't react.

His gaze shifted toward Anaya.

She was still tied to a metal pillar.

Shaken.

But safe.

He walked toward her slowly.

"It's okay," he said.

His voice softer now.

"You're safe."

Anaya looked at him.

Relief filled her eyes.

"You idiot…"

Her voice trembled slightly.

"You actually came."

Kabir cut the ropes.

"Of course he did," he said. "He's got no survival instincts."

Aisha sighed.

"…This isn't over."

That line stayed in the air.

Heavy.

Because everyone felt it.

Reyansh didn't leave because he lost.

He left because he wasn't done.

Ishaan looked at his hand.

That same energy pulsed faintly.

Unstable.

Flickering.

"…Not enough."

Kabir glanced at him.

"What?"

Ishaan clenched his fist.

"I couldn't even move properly against him."

A pause.

"If he was serious…"

He didn't finish.

Kabir frowned.

"Yeah well, next time I'll just punch him harder."

Aisha shook her head.

"That won't work."

Both of them looked at her.

"He doesn't fight normally," she said.

"He controls movement itself."

A slight pause.

"As long as he can see you, he can stop you."

Kabir clicked his tongue.

"So what, we close our eyes and fight?"

Aisha ignored him.

"We break his line of sight."

Ishaan looked up.

Thinking.

"…I moved when I dropped low."

Aisha nodded.

"Exactly."

Anaya spoke softly.

"Then we just need to create more openings like that."

Kabir smirked.

"Team combo, huh?"

For a brief moment, the tension eased.

Then sirens echoed in the distance.

Faint at first.

Then closer.

Aisha's expression changed.

"…Authorities."

Kabir cursed.

"Already?"

Ishaan looked around.

Broken concrete.

Damage everywhere.

"…We should go."

They left quickly.

Before anyone arrived.

Night settled over the city.

But Ishaan couldn't rest.

He stood on his balcony.

Cold wind brushing past him.

His mind replayed everything.

His body freezing.

That helplessness.

That control.

And that one moment.

When he broke free.

"…Why did it work?"

He closed his eyes.

Focused.

That feeling again.

Deep inside.

Like something was trying to rise.

Not just speed.

Something more.

He clenched his fist.

"I need to get stronger."

Elsewhere.

A black car moved through the empty road.

Inside, Reyansh sat quietly.

Looking out the window.

His fingers touched his jaw.

The impact still lingered.

"…Interesting."

For the first time, something had slipped past his control.

He leaned back.

Eyes closing.

"That speed…"

A pause.

"…and that instinct."

A faint smile appeared.

"I'll break it next time."

The car disappeared into the night.

And somewhere between control and chaos

A clash had begun.
