Sunset academy, first day of classes.
The teaching system was completely different from that of Sunrise academy.
Sunset academy has only three classes per day.
The first class is training and combat, it is divided into two hours of training and two hours of continuous combat between students, and sometimes the combat shifts to include students and supervising instructors.
The second class is a two hour academic session every day, covering everything related to history, the system, the Horizon Gates, and monsters…
The third class is the experience session.
Experience sessions begin after two weeks, by which time the students have become accustomed to life at the academy, so they are directed to the experience sessions.
The third class is different in that it is more like performing tasks in exchange for lines and rank.
Each student receives a specific number of lines weekly based on their group and ranking, with a minimum of 1,000 lines per person.
However, experience sessions have students complete daily tasks to earn more lines, lines are awarded based on achievements, and rankings within the group are adjusted.
If a group manages to surpass another group, it moves up in the rankings.
Of course, moving up in the rankings means better housing, better facilities, and many other benefits, such as training from real conquerors…
All groups are given equal opportunities after two weeks, as from the start the forty groups were divided equally, with each group consisting of between 200 and 250 people.
This was different from the Sunrise academy, which divided the groups by the number of letters.
The difference in the number of students was also huge, while the Sunset academy had between eight thousand and ten thousand students, the Sunrise academy had only about five or six thousand students.
Each academy had its own style, yet I found some similarities.
Jazz chose this academy because the entrance exam was easy, you only had to demonstrate your talent, and the supervisor would determine the difficulty of the test.
Jazz left the academy's infirmary, where the previous night a doctor with healing abilities had visited him and treated all remaining traces of his injuries so he could attend his first day of classes.
The first class began at eight o'clock, it started with two hours of training, and the last two hours of the class would be combat drills.
Jazz was in Group six, there was no ranking yet, so everyone was at ease.
An email explaining all the details regarding the academy had been sent the night before.
'It's just as I remember it.' Jazz thought for a moment as he stepped forward.
There were only nine minutes left until the class began.
Unlike the introverted Deebt, who didn't care about getting to know anyone or being known by anyone, Jazz was much more sociable.
In one way or another, he gave the other person what they wanted, he was strangely charming and instilled a sense of value in himself within the other person.
A manipulator? Sort of.
But Jazz didn't care, understanding people was what mattered.
"Hello."
Jazz spoke to a girl standing alone, even though it was the first day, many had already formed groups of two, three, or four.
Her hair was dark black, like the magic of vast space, and her eyes were a distinctive violet, like celestial bodies.
Pink lips and cheeks flushed with shyness.
The girl didn't respond right away, instead, she clasped her hands and began to play with her fingers, then managed to utter a few words.
"Um… Hi." the girl replied hesitantly, clearly shy.
'Really cute.'
Jazz smiled and didn't reply right away, he looked into her eyes for a moment, then flashed a charming smile.
"You have beautiful eyes, I am Jazz Jacks. What's your name?"
Jazz asked calmly.
From what he could see, this girl was shy, she wasn't outgoing, but her eyes reflected a desire to be with everyone.
To speak, to convey her smile, to convey her feelings, her eyes conveyed all of that as she looked at the groups around her.
No one approached her because she was quiet and didn't respond directly… Due to her shyness.
But now a handsome, tall young man approached her, with deep, dark black eyes and wavy brown hair reaching his shoulders, along with a charming smile, looking like a fictional character.
"B, B, Brera… I, I don't have a last name." the girl replied hesitantly once more, as if every word she uttered weighed heavily on her mind and heart, especially saying she didn't have a last name.
Jazz looked at her in surprise.
'Brera, is this Brera? I didn't recognize her, I didn't even see her at the academy in my first life. We fought together, she was brave and quiet, but she sacrificed herself…' Jazz thought for a moment as he looked at Brera.
Brera placed her hand over her heart, it was beating wildly.
She looked at Jazz and noticed his silence, Brera felt embarrassed and regretful.
What does it mean to have no last name?
An orphan, a vagrant, children without last names were not accepted into society.
Unless they were adopted, they would never get one.
Even the government didn't grant them the right to a last name until they turned eighteen.
Brera wanted to be recognized by her first name alone, she didn't need a last name.
After all, her parents had abandoned her, so why would she take their last name? Whether it was her mother or her father, both had left her.
Breera remembered the moment of separation, and despite her shyness, she resolved to be accepted just as she was, by her first name alone.
"That's a lovely name. Why were you standing alone?" Jazz smiled and didn't really care that she didn't have a last name.
Brera looked him straight in the eyes, she was stunned.
Brera felt the sincerity in Jazz's words, he wasn't flattering her, he didn't even care if she had a last name.
"I was… No, they didn't approach me because I didn't… Speak directly." Brera spoke with difficulty, each sentence took her a long time to say.
Jazz didn't care about that, instead, he listened to her and showed her patience.
Brera felt herself relaxing little by little, and they talked more.
Even when the training session began, Jazz continued to draw closer to her.
He wasn't attracted to her beauty or anything like that.
She was a wonderful person in his eyes, both in his first life and this one.
Jazz felt that the current Brera was better, he didn't know how she had changed or what had changed her in his first life.
But somehow, the current Brera was worthy of her future title: Celestial Body.
