What could that be? Boom! It goes again. Hurriedly, Wei Chen held my hands and carefully took me through the backside of the shelter where we stayed. We halted at the doorway and peeped through the door. He saw quite a number of emissaries from the North. They were battle ready so fierce looking that I could barely keep a gaze on any of them. Slowly and quietly,Wei Chen pulled me back and said 'it seems our identity has been compromised. We have to escape as quickly as possible'. 'Can't we stay to fight? I quizzed ' How do you plan on us dealing with a thousand warriors all by ourselves?'.
I stood on a spot and took a deep thought for some seconds. 'There might actually be a way' I said. He looked at me and made a gesture with his hand for me to continue. 'We would both go outside now,you will ask them what they want and obviously I would be requested for. Then,you go on to tell them, they can have me if anyone of them can defeat me before the hour glass runs out' I explained. 'What now happens after that?' Wei Chen wondered. 'Well, nothing else than I fight and defeat them before the time runs out'. I answered. Before he could raise another question,I dragged him outside,lifted up our hands and said 'stop the attack, we're here!'.
Some children were already lying lifeless on the floor,many others were injured and couldn't bear to stand. At their sight I couldn't but feel guilty for bringing such harm to them. If not for my presence they wouldn't be in such a state. The ones who were dancing with joy and excitement are now crying profusely. Their voices echoed throughout the region. Yet,the Northern emissaries were not moved at the sight.' They really reflect their ancestor;the evil twin' I thought to myself. It was obvious Wei Chen did not trust what I said and he knew something about the injured ones that I did not know.
I began to see the bodies of the lifeless children, start shinning like the Sun and became elevated upwards till I could see them no more. The injured ones were swirled around by a windy creature and also fazed out. Come to think of it I haven't seen the aged Centaur since we came outside. I actually thought she should be tending to them but on seeing how they evaporated,I could imagine that she also disappeared or something. Now I know why Wei Chen did not bother about them. Although I am still hoping for an explanation about what exactly happened to them. Are they still alive or is that the way of their translation into another realm of is this place an illusion.
'Have not caused enough harm? Why are you still here?!' Wei Chen blurted. 'We are here for the chosen one,give her to us and we would take your leave!' the leader of the squad answered back angrily. 'If you want her,then,come get her' Wei Chen said. As he did,he looked at me asking with his expression,'hope you know what you are doing?'. I smiled,looked up and it was almost in time for one of the Warriors to hit my jaw with a blow. I swiftly turned away from the blow and met him with a kick which sent him into four more warriors. They all landed on the floor and as they tried to make use of their coordination,they found out they couldn't. It was so bad they could barely stand up.
Two huge warriors with a metal chain rope came into me together. As they made their way towards me, I made a pose with my palms clasped together and entered my coordination realm. I closed my eyes and I pictured them stumbling and falling headlong. As I opened my eyes,they were still running towards me and as they almost got to me,they stumbled, fell on their face and life left them instantly. I took a glance at Wei Chen who stood by a corner and just observed. As our eyes met he shouted 'Zhen! Watch out!'
I felt a kick at my spine ,I looked back and it was another warrior. This one had no human resemblance safe the fact that he stood on two legs. He was so ruthless and had high level of coordination. He kept his gaze on my legs and I immediately felt my legs lose its strength. I fell on my knees and I almost have in to despair as a result of the pain I felt. Wei Chen made a move to come to me but I signalled him to stop.
I took a deep breath and on impulse made circled movements with my fingers,slowly but strongly,circles of fire began to form. The longer I circled my fingers,the bigger the circle of fire became. When it was large enough,I swiped my fingers in the direction of the northern army and the fire consumed one third of them, including the one that made my knees buckle. This really enraged the leader of the squad. He made his approach towards me and sincerely I was afraid.
Wei Chen was already beside me and I think,he was ready for the confrontation. The leader said 'Although,the instruction was to capture you alive. But you don't seem to value your life,seeing you used your dark powers over emissaries from the North!'. ' I am not afraid of you!' I shouted. 'Oh! You ought to be!' the leader said. At this he brought out a sword and raised it to my throat. At the sight of the sword,Wei Chen's countenance changed. It seemed like the will to fight was stolen from him at the sight of it.
I raised my hand and held the blade with both of my hands. My hands were bleeding,yet I did not release the sword. As my hands began to bleed,the leader felt a jolt in his body,but he didn't let go. The more I bled,the more the sword burned in his hands too. 'Zhen,you both will die if you don't let go! Wei Chen cried 'Why?' I asked unwilling to let go. 'It is the Sword of the Seventh Sea' he shouted!
