Soon after the guard had finished informing Devara's wives, he continued through the palace until he reached Rajmata Satyavati's chambers.
She was sitting with a few attendants and was engaged in a quiet conversation when the guard entered, bowed respectfully and waited for her permission to speak.
"Rajmata, Maharaja Devara has asked that the entire palace be informed of some wonderful news. Queen Gandhari is with child."
Satyavati's face immediately changed when she heard those words.
For a second, she simply stared at the guard as though making sure she had heard him correctly, and then a broad smile appeared across her face.
"Gandhari is pregnant?"
