Chapter 35 - The Wedding Preparation

In this animated world, there is no 'I comprehend this degree of space or fire law'; you either can do it or not. You either have the power to do so or not. You either have the experience to do so or not. Aladdin is just built differently. I hope this answers why Aladdin can create magic equipment with transmutation while learning blacksmithing.

Within the palace,

"How do I look?" Aladdin said, spreading his arms wide open and turning in a full circle before Genie.

"You look amazing… Prince Ali Ababwa," Genie replied, dressed in a tailor's outfit with a tape around his neck as he kissed his thumb.

Abu and Carpet gave him a thumbs-up.

"Come on. Give me a 360," Genie said.

Aladdin spun around in a 360 with his hands spread out.

"Alright… Now get out there and fetch your bride," Genie transformed into an elderly man, blowing his nose with a white handkerchief as he waved goodbye at Aladdin with a teary gaze.

The door was pulled open by an invisible force.

Aladdin and Abu were held aloft by a similar invisible force and pushed out of the room.

The door closed shut.

Genie transformed to his normal form and looked at Carpet. He rubbed his palms together and said with a sly smile. "How about we play a little game before heading to the wedding party?"

Carpet nodded and folded his tassels together with a serious aura emanating around him.

Meanwhile, Aladdin disappeared with Abu seated on his shoulder and appeared before a door.

The guards stationed at the door were momentarily taken aback before sighing in relief upon seeing who it was. Although they knew that Prince Aladdin was an aspiring sorcerer and could teleport at will, they were still getting used to his presence as he teleported around the palace.

"Your Highness!"

They greeted him and bowed down respectfully.

Aladdin nodded, stepped past them, and knocked on the door.

"Who's there?" Moments later, a voice emerged from the other side of the door.

Aladdin swiftly recognised the voice.

"It's your groom. He has come to see his bride," Aladdin replied with a smile.

"Did my groom bring any gifts?"

"No," Aladdin responded. "What kind of gift would my bride want?"

"It's you, silly," the reply came with a chuckle.

The door slowly pulled open.

Jasmine stood on the other side of the door, dressed in her white wedding dress with open flares at the centre. Golden accents decorated her long sleeves, and her long black hair was covered with a white veil held in place by a flowery tiara.

"You look gorgeous," Aladdin said, feeling his heartbeat rise after being momentarily stunned by Jasmine's words and her beauty.

"And you look absolutely breathtaking as well," Jasmine responded, blushing slightly. She leaned in and kissed him on the lips.

"Hey, no kissing until the wedding ceremony."

Suddenly, a figure popped out from behind her. She had light brown hair and was dressed in a light pink top with colourful rainbow patterns along its edges, paired with flowing harem pants of similar design.

Her name was Nadine. She was Jasmine's maternal cousin. She also lived in the palace in her own separate quarters. However, she had ventured out a few months ago with some of her relatives to attend a ceremony in a distant kingdom.

She and the others had quickly returned after receiving news of the ongoing wedding from the Sultan.

Jasmine could have joined them, but because she was expected to find a suitor, she wasn't allowed to leave the palace. This made Aladdin understand why he hadn't seen them in the original story.

Nonetheless, Aladdin had met them all and bonded with them, considering they were now his in-laws.

"Hi Aladdin, how are you doing?" Nadine greeted with a smile.

"I'm fine," Aladdin nodded in response. "It seems that I came at the right time."

"You did. Come in. Let's brief you on the ceremony so you don't make any mistakes," Nadine said. She grabbed Aladdin's hand and pulled him into the room, then closed the door shut.

Aladdin saw three more women seated on the soft couches within the room.

The first was a young woman dressed in a sleeveless light purple top with flowing deep purple harem pants.

The second young woman wore a long-sleeved purple dress with a red sash and purple harem pants. The third woman was also dressed in a purple top and flowing harem pants, but with a golden tiara resting on her beige hair.

Their names were Sharma, Sabina, and Farah, and they were all Jasmine's maternal cousins.

Sharma was a teacher at Agrabah's Royal Academy for young nobles.

"Welcome, Aladdin!"

They greeted Aladdin enthusiastically when they saw him step into the room.

Ever since Jasmine became known for chasing away suitors who didn't tick her boxes, her cousins were concerned that she would drive away all suitable suitors, and that others would be afraid to come because they wouldn't be able to bear the disgrace of rejection.

Never did they imagine that their cousin would strike gold by getting engaged to a prince of a forgotten empire whose curse had only just been freed by true love.

This was one of the reasons none of them doubted the relationship between Jasmine and Aladdin. In fact, they would have been suspicious that something was wrong after seeing the empire and learning about its history if they weren't in love.

Jasmine had set a standard for them, and because of this, they also wanted to find their true love. Someone who met all their expectations.

Aladdin nodded in response. "You all are dressed so beautifully," he said.

The women chuckled in response.

"Thank you, cousin-in-law. And you also look splendid in that attire!"

"Yeah, who made that? I don't believe I've met any tailor capable of weaving such a clothing style in Agrabah. Could it be one you brought from Ababwa?"

"I agree! cousin-in-law, when are we returning to Ababwa? I want to go back and learn how to fish. Pretty please…."

The women spoke all at once. They got up from their seats and quickly surrounded Aladdin.

"Enough! We have a wedding ceremony to prepare for," Nadine said, quickly silencing the young woman. "And you, stop being so accommodating and listening to their demands."

Then, she pulled Aladdin and had him sit on one of the couches.

The remaining women sulked behind them before walking forward and pushing their couches around Aladdin, then sitting down.

Jasmine chuckled lightly and followed suit.

"Okay. Let's begin," Nadine said, then began explaining everything that Aladdin needed to do to avoid making mistakes during the royal wedding ceremony.

Although Aladdin had already grasped everything from the last umpteenth time she had explained it to him, he remained quiet and listened, because he could tell that the explanation was merely to calm their own anxiousness.
