"No!" Roshan said quickly. "I didn't drop you. I just... adjusted my grip."
"ADJUSTED YOUR—" Faelyn's voice hit a pitch only dogs could hear. "You ALMOST DROPPED ME?!"
"Only a little bit," Roshan said defensively. "Your arms were slipping. I had to readjust. You were perfectly safe."
"THERE'S NO 'LITTLE BIT' OF DROPPING SOMEONE!"
"Technically, it was only forty feet," Nyx offered.
Faelyn's eyes went wide. "FORTY FEET?!"
"Not for us," Roshan pointed out. "We'd survive that fall easily."
"I'm not built like you!" She caught herself before saying 'human.' "Forty feet would KILL me!"
Nyx stepped in smoothly. "You were perfectly safe. I was right there to catch you if needed."
Faelyn pressed her hands to her face.
Deep breaths.
In. Out.
'Don't think about being bathed while unconscious.'
'Don't think about twelve rounds of sex.'
'Don't think about almost being dropped from a tree.'
"Okay," she said finally, dropping her hands. "New rule. No watching people sleep. Ever."
