High above, the Galactic Overlord (Rank 3) felt a sudden, sharp snap in his sensory web. One of his "Fingers"—the High Inquisitor—had been silenced. But more importantly, an entire moon had vanished from his gravitational map.
"Impossible," the Overlord's voice boomed across the Aetheric Citadel. "A planet does not simply cease to exist. Gravity cannot be lied to."
But Fang Yuan had done exactly that. By using the Space-Time Weaver's ability to Fold Distances, he had tucked Moon 9 into a temporal loop. To the Overlord's sensors, the space where the moon stood was now just empty vacuum.
On the surface of the now-hidden moon, Lia watched as Fang Yuan approached the pile of Inquisitor scrap. He didn't destroy it; he began to re-weave the neutron-metal.
"Master," Lia whispered, "The Overlord will search every atom of this sector. We are trapped in this fold. What is our next move?"
Fang Yuan looked at the indigo threads dancing between his fingers. "We are not trapped, Lia. We are Incubating. I have the luck of a Hero, the wrath of a Dragon, and the metal of a God's messenger. I will use these to weave my own 'Galaxy'. When I step out of this fold, I will not be a Weaver anymore. I will be the one who dictates where the stars fall."
He turned to the two "Empty" souls at his feet. "Kaelen. Zane. You were the children of the old prophecy. Now, you will be the first citizens of my New Law. Wake up."
