Chapter 3 - Attention - not love

Everything was going through an unusual way... no one had any idea that someone is noticing each and every situation of Anne and Sarah, this was.....

Noah

He noticed things people didn't.

Not because he cared…

but because he couldn't ignore patterns.

From the back of the classroom, Noah had been watching it all unfold.

Anne.

Sarah.

Robin.

At first, it looked normal.

A senior helping juniors.

A girl finding comfort in someone new.

Another trusting too easily.

But Noah knew better.

He had seen people like Robin before.

The way he talked.

The way he acted differently with different people.

The way his presence felt… too controlled.

Not genuine.

Noah's eyes often drifted toward Anne.

Strong. Composed. But careful.

And toward Sarah.

Soft. Open. Unaware.

He wanted to say something.

Many times.

But he didn't.

Because he wasn't close to them.

And people don't listen to strangers.

But then things started breaking.

The Arguments

It didn't happen all at once.

Small disagreements.

Awkward silences.

Unspoken tension.

Then one day—

Everything exploded.

"You're overreacting, Anne," Robin said, his tone calm—but calculated.

"I'm not," Anne snapped, her voice sharper than usual. "I just know what I'm seeing."

Sarah stood in between them, confused, hurt.

"Can we just… not fight?" she whispered.

But it was too late.

Anne's frustration had built up for too long.

"You don't understand, Sarah," she said, her voice trembling slightly. "He's not what you think."

Robin laughed lightly.

"See? This is what I mean. You're making things up now."

And that's how it turned.

Slowly.

Subtly.

Dangerously.

Robin didn't raise his voice.

He didn't get angry.

He just… spoke.

And somehow, everyone started believing him.

That Anne was overthinking.

That Anne was jealous.

That Anne was wrong.

Noah watched it happen.

And something about it… didn't sit right.

Because he knew.

He knew exactly what Robin was doing.

"Enough."

The word came out before Noah could stop himself.

The room went quiet.

Everyone turned.

Noah rarely spoke.

But when he did… people listened.

"He's not wrong?" someone asked.

Noah's gaze shifted to Anne for a brief second.

Then back to Robin.

"No," he said calmly. "She's not."

Silence.

For the first time—

someone stood on Anne's side.

Robin's expression changed for just a second.

Just a second.

But Noah caught it.

And that was enough.

He didn't explain much.

He didn't need to.

But from that moment—

Something shifted.

Aftermath

The arguments didn't end that day.

They continued.

Messy. Emotional. Exhausting.

But in the end—

Robin walked away.

And Anne?

She stood there… alone.

At least, that's what she thought.

Sarah slowly walked up to her.

"I don't fully understand everything," she said softly, "but… I trust you."

Anne didn't say anything.

But her eyes softened.

And then there was Noah.

Still distant.

Still quiet.

But no longer a stranger.

That was the beginning.

Not of something perfect—

But something real.

A Few Months Later

Time passed.

Things settled.

Or at least… it looked like they did.

"Anne…"

She turned.

Robin.

Again.

"I'm sorry," he said, his voice softer than before. "I didn't realize… I messed up."

Anne didn't react.

"I just… want things to be like before," he continued. "The same bond. I'll be the same old Robin. I promise."

Promises.

They sounded nice.

But Anne had learned something. Some people don't leave memories.

They leave lessons.

Anne didn't lose anything.

She learned—

Not everyone who feels easy… is safe.

Not everyone who cares… is real.

And sometimes, distance isn't coldness…

it's protection.

This time,

she chose herself.

And that…

changed everything.

Not everything that sounds right… feels right.

She looked at him for a moment.

Then shook her head slightly.

"No."

That was all she said.

Calm. Clear. Final.

And just like that—

She ended it.

Some bonds are meant to be broken.

Some lessons are meant to hurt.

And some people…

Are meant to teach you who to trust.

Behind her—

Sarah stood.

And a few steps away—

Noah.

And somewhere between all the chaos, arguments, and silence—

Their story had truly begun.
