Chapter 33 - EVENING

We left the formal study, and Mason instructed Leon to prepare the luxury vehicle for an immediate departure. I grabbed my small purse from the bedroom upstairs before I walked out the front doors of the estate. The afternoon sun warmed my skin while I climbed into the back seat of the dark car alongside Mason.

Leon steered the heavy vehicle away from the wealthy downtown shopping district. We drove for almost thirty minutes until the tall glass skyscrapers gave way to older, industrial neighborhoods. The streets here featured cracked sidewalks and aged brick warehouses. We finally parked in front of a narrow building with a faded wooden door and no visible signs in the front window.

"This does not look like a high-end fashion boutique," I noted while I looked through the tinted glass.
