Jace quickly recalled seeing the beautiful older woman at the party.
"What kind of relationship?" Jace asked.
He recalled the look in the older woman's eyes—he had seen a hint of recognition. Was that because Natalie had told her about him?
Natalie just sat there for a moment, considering what to answer.
I mean, what am I supposed to say… she wants to sleep with you?
But she kept her face neutral and said, "A close one."
Jace was turning suspicious at this point. He narrowed his eyebrows.
"That doesn't explain anything."
Natalie fell silent, not knowing how to say it.
Sarah looked at Natalie and figured out her conflict, then she looked at Jace and spoke for her.
"Madam Webbers would like to have an intimate relation with you," she said in an even and clear tone.
"Intimate?" Jace was confused at this point.
What exactly is this woman saying…
"Yes," Sarah nodded. "Physically… intimate relations," she said hesitantly.
Jace was flabbergasted at this point.
What the fuck is going on…
This is not some novel where an older attractive woman would just come to him and say "sleep with me."
It was real life—and a world of Beyonders, for God's sake.
This is a joke… right?
"What again?" he asked.
Sarah looked at Natalie and repeated the words once more.
Jace still couldn't believe what he was hearing, but he controlled himself and stayed calm, then started considering other possibilities.
Is this a trap to extract information from me?
Natalie, as if figuring out his thoughts, said, "I assure you, it's not a trap."
The transaction was complete. He had no reason to stay here.
He got up from the chair.
Looking at the two women, he said, "My mother warned me about stranger danger."
With that, he turned around and started walking.
As he was leaving, he heard Natalie's voice.
"Day after tomorrow, I will wait at Laywin's Café, 6 in the evening."

But Jace didn't turn around and kept walking.
As he walked through the streets of Cherwood under the moon, he thought about many things. As for the matter of Madam Webbers, he set it aside for now.
He wanted to be as focused as possible when advancing to the next sequence.

Just as he got to his apartment, he settled in and laid the ingredients of the potion on the kitchen table.
He had already gotten the supplementary ingredients before, so he was ready to proceed.
He started brewing the potion as described in the book. Of course, he used the reader's glasses to remember the contents.
He started with the supplementary ingredients, and last came the main ingredients.
After half an hour, he was sitting at the dining table with a glass of potion in front of him.
The potion itself seemed quite magical.
It had a swirling color of golden, yellow, and red, and looked suspiciously good to drink.
He performed divination, as a Seer should, to determine if the potion concoction was correct.
The result was positive.
Jace then composed himself for a moment.
He picked it up with his hand and brought it to his mouth.
And gulped it down in one go.
The potion tasted horrible.
It was the most bitter and revolting thing ever.
After drinking it, his body turned hot and his skin red.
His mind and soul were assaulted by thousands of needles.
Something like electric shocks ran through his muscles and body.
This continued for a few minutes.
Until his body began to stabilize.
Then he heard the screams, murmurs, and whispers.
Hornacis Flegrea… Hornacis Flegrea… Hornacis…
He started cogitation, and the voices slowly disappeared.
Collecting himself, he gave a wide and eerie smile.
He was Sequence 8.
Clown.
