Chapter 14 - The First Win

Surprisingly, creating a shooting that single void arrow didn't consume as much mana as he expected, however the mental strain was a different matter.

For now, creating at most five arrows at the same time along side their tunnels if we want a different angle was Calux's mental limit before there was strain to his thought process considering there were so many things happening at once just to shoot the arrow.

After two more hours of training Calux was finally able to fire all five arrows at the same time within 1.5 seconds.

At first he had to waste some time actually creating the arrow, then the tunnels, but with practice it became easier for him to actually create these arrows quickly, and the actual time spent is with the tunnel and flow for the arrows to shoot through.

"Ah.... Finally..., I'm going to kill those constructs today!"

Void had still not changed the constructs to the next rank, because Calux had yet to beat all three in a fight.

With a hour left for the mana training session, he decided to gather mana to refill his mana core and for the rest of the time use the mana gathering method to increase his mana core refinement.

..

An hour later, Void let Calux know it was time for the body training once again.

Slowly three constructs manifested about twenty feet from Calux.

To the left side stood the mage construct, an imposing hooded figure made of void was looking straight at Calux.

On the middle, a close combat swordsman construct stood imposingly with his sword in front of him as a knight ready for battle.

On the right, a crowssbow construct finally finished manifesting, a purple mist flowing from the tip of the bolt.

Calux looked at the first two constructs with a poker face, but when the third one manifested, you could see how his face twisted into a hateful glare.

This construct was responsible for half his injuries alone, he was sick of it.

He needed to win today so he could upgrade the rank of the constructs, therefore helping his body rank increase later on.

"Today, I will beat the three of you."

Calux pointed his sword at the swordsman.

Quickly, the crossbowman launched a bolt towards Calux but he sidestepped and blocked the sword that was coming for his chest.

Sparks flew from the clash of swords, but Calux was not pushed back.

He could see the mage was about to cast the void spheres towards him, but Calux was ready, two void arrows appeared twenty feet away from the mage construct and were launched with deadly precision.

The mage not expecting this tried to sidestep but one of the arrows pierced his arm in a way that left it hanging by a thread.

Calux's eyes shined with excitement.

Although he had his thoughts about how much damage a void arrow could cause, this was above his expectations, he thought it would just create a hole wherever it hit, but it could depending on how it hit actually destroy the flesh it cut, therefore it could cripple if he hit the correct spots!

Another two bolts were sent towards Calux, he avoided one and hit the other with his sword annoyed at the bowman.

With his current mana, Calux could at most do three void slashes before his mana would hit danger levels.

Although Void Slash sounded simple, in essence it coated his sword with void essence and annihilated the slashed area on contact.

However, the amount of void essence that was used to coat his sword relic was insane.

It was enough to easily one shot anyone on his rank, that's why the consumption was fairly high, if used with another sword that had no affinity with the void, although it could work based on his tests previously, the sword would disintegrate right after the slash, and it would never do as much damage as he did with Void Edge.

Thinking about this, he decided to once again cast void arrows, this time once again against the mage who was already in a sorry state since he had his skill interrupted earlier.

Two arrows manifested once again in front of the mage, the constructs this time noticed the cast and were on high alert, the mage launched his skill against Calux before narrowly avoiding these two arrows but suddenly a shriek was heard.

A third void arrow that the constructs had not seen had pierced through the back of the head of the crossbowman.

When he initially cast the two void arrows, his goal was to shift their attention towards those two arrows, and after those two were cast he quickly cast another behind the crossbowman.

Since the swordsman was focused on fighting head one with Calux he didn't notice.

The mage was focusing on avoiding the two incoming arrows, and the crossbowman had momentarily been focused on the mage, which was Calux's goal, he was pierced with an arrow through the back of his head and you could see how half of his skull was literally erased from existence.

"Fuck you!!"

Calux was finally in a good mood, he could feel a weight lift off his shoulders.

He void stepped next to the mage, quickly avoiding the void spheres that had been cast, and before the mage could react Calux cast void slash and cut the mage in half.

Looking at the emotionless construct with a sword running towards him, Calux finally felt excited.

He was going to destroy this void construct without using his void slash.

He locked on to the construct that was a few feet away from him, he changed his stance by crouching just slightly and having his sword horizontally in front of him, ready to strike at this incoming swordsman.

One would think these constructs should be easy to beat, but the truth is each of them has memories of some of the best in their fields in terms of skill.

This was set up by the previous Void Sovereign so that training was actually something that improved the trainee instead of just fighting dumb constructs.

Calux waited patiently for the incoming construct, and suddenly he disappeared, he smiled since he had seen this move before, how could he not?

This was a short distance teleportation using the void just like void steps, but this time, used against him.

The swordsman appeared behind Calux, but before the sword could strike, Calux did a 180 spin and blocked the sword.

How could the Sword Sovereign fall for such a simple fade out?

Right after blocking this sword strike, Calux used his strength to push the swordsman back, rolled through the floor and stabbed the construct where his heart should have been, but he knew that wasn't enough.

With all of his strength he made his sword slice through the rest of the construct's body starting from his heart towards the bottom of the opposing hip, practically cutting the construct in half.

The construct lost its strength and the sword fell to the ground on one knee, his upper half almost slipping through to the ground.

Calux took his sword out from the constructs body, and before anything else could happen, he sliced its head off.

He finally let out a breath he didn't know he was holding in.

"I FINALLY BEAT THEM!"

While he was screaming like a little kid for his first success, Nyraxis could be seen in a corner with an eye open looking at her father with tenderness.

He finally did it. In just a week he has improved this much... I can't wait to see him by the end of his seclusion...
