You could see the fact that even if the first few days his body training had gone ahead by a rank, he still caught up and was able to rank up equally in a week.
Since absorbing mana with his absorption method essentially gives him multiple times the results of his body training per hour, he can distribute his time by understand his affinities enough.
However, instead of a happy mood, since he had ranked up a full rank in just a week, you could hear cursing on the background.
"Damn it!"
"I feel like I understand enough of the void to do this, why the hell isn't it working?!"
Nyraxis looked at him in the distance and shook her head.
She couldn't help him, because if she did, it would hurt his comprehension and understanding eventually.
Okay, okay, let's think about this.
I'm sick and tired of the damn crossbow construct.
No matter what, I either kill the swordsman and then go kill the bowman, but get annihilated by the mage, or I kill the swordsman and get struck by the bowman after killing the mage.
I need to have a skill that allows me to kill one of them at a distance first, so that once my fight with the swordsman is done I can void step and void slash and finish the damn fight.
People use their elements to shoot in different ways all the time what am I missing?!
You may ask, what the hell is going on?
Well after a couple, and by couple, perhaps hundreds if not thousands of beatings, Calux got fed up with his fight with the constructs and wants to create his own skill.
Usually at this point people use skill books, but there aren't any void skill books in this world.
So Calux had to resort to the only thing he could.
Create his own skill.
Okay, I seem to be able to create a sphere, even though it's not perfect... But I can't seem to launch it...
What good is the sphere if I can't launch it like the mage...
Okay, let's forget about launching it for a moment.
I want my skill to be arrows, I've seen the S rank bowman of the Brax empire cast his skill Arrow Rain, and he sends out over twenty arrows in a row, so it's definitely possible.
Although it was an S rank skill book from a rift, someone had to create the skill so it's possible.
Let's focus on compressing.
I feel like if I compress in the correct way I can finally give it shape.
He sat down and put away his anger towards the constructs, relaxed and started thinking about the void.
The void obeys him, therefore it acts according to his will.
To give shape to the void, first it needs compression, then shape through will, and finally I should have a product.
Calux started willing a piece of the void in front of him, and then using his imagination to will it into an arrow.
Slowly, it started manifesting into a crude looking arrow, but an arrow all the same.
One had to understand, that crude or not, the void erases, so wherever this arrow hits, it will undoubtedly pierce.
Okay, design can wait till later, now how do I launch it. I don't have wind affinity so I can't just push it using the wind...
Void on the side, was surprised that Calux had at least willed the void into existence, that is something that takes quite a bit of practice, but Calux having being exposed to the void so many times because of the mage skills he has been attacked with seems to have gain understanding indirectly.
Now how do I make it move, I'm not strong enough to use my space affinity to teleport, and I feel like using teleportation will not actually send the arrow flying through, it will perhaps just drop it on top of the person.
I need to make the arrow move first before I can do anything else...
Hold on....
Calux started thinking more openly about space.
Who says I can only use space to travel through space tunnels?
Can't I take the arrow, and will it on a specific direction, taking the arrow as the mass even if made of void, and say I want to move this mass from it's current position towards a different path or direction?
Yes.. I think it's possible if I create a type of flow within the space it's going to travel through.
With this flow, I can manage to make the arrow travel at a certain distance per second...
Now the question is, can my mana handle all of these things at the same time?
Only one way to find out!
Calux slowly got up, willed an arrow made of void into existence, although just one arrow took two seconds, this is still in its testing stages.
Next, he decided to try out his theory.
Using his space affinity, he used the arrow's mass as the point of origin, and then decided to open a flow in the current space of 50 meters, he decided to try how fast he could make the flow of this space go, and figured that at most he could have a flow of 60 meters per second.
Not bad.. I think a regular arrow travels 50-70 m/s depending on the bow it's launched from...
Of course this is on a 50 meter flow of space, if I make it 100 or 200, the speed will decline sharply, but this is fine for an E rank.
What did Calux do?
He opened up an invisible tunnel within the current space, which is wherever he is right now, and assigned that tunnel a speed of 60 meters per second. This tunnel's length is 50 meters, and was opened in a specific direction with a specific end point.
Now all that was left was add the mass to the tunnel and see if it flowed like an arrow being sent from a bow.
Calux silently prayed for it to work, he had spent so much effort in brainstorming and reaching this point, that all that was left was to see if this was feasible or not.
He let go of the void arrow, and...
Swoosh!
The arrow was launched at 60 meters per second through the tunnel and reached the other side of the tunnel in less than a second, with the tip stuck to the ground as it was expected.
Holy shit...
I DID IT!
