"Calux this skill is amazing! Both of us have amazing AoE skills now!"
Seraphiel was genuinely happy for him, last time she got an amazing skill, and this time around she barely did anything and she was getting a B rank boss core already, having Calux gain this skill left her at ease with this situation.
"Actually, this mana core is as I suspected, this was a beast that was originally of SS rank, therefore although it is ranked as a B rank, you should be careful when refining, I suspect the mana in it which is overflowing even in my hands is above the A rank, with this you might even push towards C rank in the upcoming two weeks before the academy!"
"Um, are you sure you prefer not using it yourself? It might help you improve above the C- rank easily as well.."
"Sera, if I train any more and reach the B rank, who at the academy of our year will pose a challenge?"
He said with an amused grin.
This bastard is a battle maniac...
"Well you are right when saying that... But extra strength is never a bad thing no?"
"Hm... You are right but how do I put this, if I get too strong by fighting those constructs, I'll be stronger in theory, but I feel like my experience wont match my rank.. I want to fight beasts for the next weeks to get used to my strength and actually test my limits, I know we wont be fighting any stronger beasts since we'll be visiting D rank dungeons, but fighting bosses I feel like my battle instincts get sharper."
Seraphiel thought about his words, and to be honest they made sense from a a warriors perspective.
Although she could fight close quarters and she did, she didn't hold a candle to Calux's sword skills, not even his mom did at this moment.
Fighting beasts is entirely different from humans, plus their skins are tougher and think differently, so different tactics are needed..
"Alright, enough chit chat, let's get out of here!"
Leaving through the portal, they were met with over twenty B rank awakeners, and Calux's mother with a worried look that quickly turned to relief when she saw they were both unharmed.
A blur was suddenly seen, and in a millisecond he was being embraced by his mother.
Before he could say anything, he felt the tears falling on his neck, and he could see and feel his mother trembling, she was truly afraid, it would appear that she was notified of the rank change and was out here waiting anxiously.
"It's okay mom, we're fine, absolutely nothing happened to us."
He pushed her a little and pinched her cheek as if she were a child.
"You know I have Nyra with me don't you? Why were you so worried?"
Celine pouted at his actions and slapped his hands away.
"Well perhaps you aren't aware, but after you went in, the portal changed colors to a deep obsidian and no one could pass through, as if a barrier had been erected."
Calux's face showed visible surprise, now understanding his mother a little better.
"Weird, I'll be honest if it would have been anyone but us, they would have probably died in there."
He stopped talking and looked at how many on lookers there were, and decided to leave the details for when they were alone.
Celine understood this immediately and they walked towards the carriage that was going to take them home, since this rift was closer to the Dukedom.
..
Arriving at the castle, all three sat in the family room and started discussing the issues in the rift, how the beast had eaten its kind to evolve, and how the beast had immense intelligence and was originally an SS beast, but was sealed by something or someone.
After pondering all the information, Celine could very well see how this would be an issue for regular awakeners going into C rank rifts.
One had to understand that up to C rank, it was considered low tier rifts, but starting from B rank, everything within a rift changed, the beasts were not only stronger, but faster, and more intelligent.
Weapons of a lower rank won't cause a lot of damage, and this would eventually lead to deaths.
Another thing they discussed was the fact that the portal didn't allow anyone else to go in.
Calux and Seraphiel hadn't tried to go back, but what if they had tried?
Would they be able to?
Would they have died in there unless they killed the boss?
These were important topics that could pose risks to the whole kingdom if it started happening suddenly.
"I will have to make a trip to the capital to discuss this with the King... This information is crucial, and awakeners need to be made aware of this if we want to avoid casualties."
Calux completely agreed with his mother, even if they weren't on good terms with the royal family, they still had their responsibilities to the people.
Celine stood up, cleared the wrinkles in her dress, and prepared to go to the capital.
Calux and Seraphiel also got up and walked towards the entry of the castle.
"Well Sera, we'll stick to D rank dungeons starting from tomorrow to avoid any more issues alright?"
Seraphiel looked at Calux's gentle smile, and finally nodded, leaving him alone in the door way thinking about everything that happened today.
Who could have sealed that beast's power...
More importantly, why?
