Suddenly, the neck of the wyvern started to heat up and you could see smoke through the scales, the red scales also turned a shade of orange as if the wyvern was charging something.
Of course, this was a skill, wyvern's breath.
Although not as strong as a dragon's breath, it was still formidable, especially coming from a beast that was originally an SS beast before being sealed.
The beast decided to jump towards Calux and hover six feet in the air before throwing its breath towards Calux.
Although he felt the feeling of death coming from that skill, he waited patiently, he wanted the skill to fire before he actually void stepped towards the wyvern's back.
'Father you need to dodge this!'
'I know my dear daughter, I'm waiting for the skill to fire and then I'll void step, don't worry.'
Nyraxis visibly relaxed when her father told her this, and she mentally communicated with Seraphiel.
Seraphiel though wasn't happy, this was a risky move.
She knew that he could void step and all, but there were risks involved, this was a weird beast encounter, and if this had happened to any other awakeners, they would have probably died.

The breath was shot towards Calux after a few seconds of charging, the beast was confident that Calux couldn't avoid it, and if he did, he would just follow him, but it didn't expect the void step to be able to teleport him to his back, he thought it was just a movement technique.
Losing sight of Calux for a few seconds, its draconic pupils shrank slightly, having a bad feeling in its heart.

The beast spat blood and with its tail, tried to hit Calux, but he was already gone.
Calux was like annoying pest that wouldn't sit still.
The beast landed, feet trembling since it couldn't place one of its legs correctly on the floor, its tail hurt, and to top it off even the breath was weaker because of the exit point that the void arrow had caused on its neck.
You could see the annoyance on the beast's face.
An SS level being, who was probably used to being on the top of the food chain was being toyed with by a C- rank human.
It couldn't believe it.
"Human... You are annoying pest... If I were on my peak, you would of been dead ten times over!"
Calux looked at it and scoffed, clearly amused.
"Well but unfortunately for you, you aren't right? If I wanted to end this quickly I would of sent my daughter to kill you already, but... I want to train against strong beings like you!"
The way he said it sounded so condescending that the beast literally spat blood, not believing how a human could be so annoying.
On the other side Seraphiel was trying hard not to laugh at the battle maniac that was Calux.
On one side of the scale, she worried for his safety, always looking to prove himself against strong beasts, but on the other, it was fun to see him get fired up, he looked cute, at least to her, to others he might look like a crazy maniac.
"You don't believe me huh?"
"Let me give you a taste of the void."
"Spatial Banishment!"
The beast suddenly felt the feeling of death go over its entire body.
What the hell is this pressure?!
It roared internally.
Suddenly, one of its limbs felt numb, his front leg had disappeared entirely!
No cut had been made.
No one had made a move.
But it had lost a limb!
Then, blood came gushing out.

"How did you injure me like this!"
Although Calux looked calm, he was anything but.
This little move drained around forty percent of his mana, and now he knew where his limits lay, just destroying a leg had cost him so much, although he understood why.
This beast was originally an SS level beast, therefore its body and mana were probably very high originally, and all of these things had to be taken into account when he used spatial banishment.
First of all, he was going above his rank in terms of mana rank, then add up how strong the beast's body was, it added up eventually leading to this.
Okay, I can't spend my mana arrogantly, I have around thirty percent of my mana left after using void arrows and spatial banishment, plus a void slash.
I need to end this now.
Having the beast scared shitless after this display, he knew that it was distracted.
Calux void stepped and appeared in the air right next to its neck, and put his mana into his sword for a void slash.

His sword passed through the neck of the beast, while the beast watched in horror its last moments before a human killed him, Narthurox.
The sword passed through the neck of the wyvern cutting like butter, and finally, the body and neck separated.
The beast fell to the ground, lifting some dust off the ground and creating a small crater because of its weight.
"Few... That was close, my mana was running dry by the end there!"
Calux laughed dryly, but inside he was happy, he had beaten such a beast, mostly alone, Seraphiel hadn't fired any ballistas because first, she didn't want to catch the agro from the beast, and Nyraxis had warned her to let her father fight this, if he needed help they would intervene.
But even Nyraxis was surprised by her father's display of skill, she knew he was talented with a sword, but truth be told, the combination of void step and his sword skills was extremely deadly.
As long as he caught your weak spot, if you weren't more than two ranks above him, you would die, definitely die.
A boss of this level's body didn't completely disintegrate, it lost some of it's mana to be able to create the skills, but there type of bosses were sometimes left behind by the system so that they could be brought back to create weapons and armor from their hides, usually bosses below the B rank disappeared, but as they knew this was a B rank monster that was once an SS rank.
A skill book manifested by the side of the head of the wyvern, and the core next to it, this was very convenient by the Apex Network, as it facilitates the extraction for bosses since they are so big.
"Hey Nyra, do you think this carcass will help you evolve? I mean, even if it doesn't, it should bring you closer to the next rank, want it?"
Suddenly, you could visibly see excitement on Nyraxis's face.
"Yes father! I'm sure it will help me!"
She started behaving like a little girl, circling Calux and landing on his shoulders, pushing her head against his while caressing him like that.
"Haha, alright my little girl, I'll send this to your beast space, and I'll send you along with it."
He then touched the two parts of the wyvern and sent them to the beast space where Nyra slept, and then she disappeared after it.
He took the core and skill book and then inspected them both.
"Well... I guess it's my turn to be lucky today Sera."
He looked at her smugly, but the fact that he didn't reveal anything instantly made her feel annoyed.
"SPIT IT OUT! WHAT IS IT?!"
