Three minutes later.
After awkwardly explaining her identity and background, Wang Chen looked at the girl in front of him Mo Liuli.
He had a good impression of her. Despite the danger earlier, she had been the first to warn him and try to help. It showed that she had a kind heart.
"I swear, I just had a water bottle burst... Seriously, you have to believe me," Mo Liuli said, her face as red as a tomato. She nervously tried to pull Wang Chen's attention elsewhere.
"I understand." Wang Chen nodded, taking a step back and glancing at her damp hands with a look of mild distaste.
When someone offers such an outlandish excuse, you don't really need to call them out on it. A simple nod would do.
"Go change your skirt," he added, trying to give her a way out.
After all, it was hard to ignore the wet stains on her slender, beautiful legs.
"Okay…" Mo Liuli said, her face flushed, then walked towards the nearby bushes. The rustling sounds that followed were… quite suggestive.
Wang Chen silently picked up the materials that had fallen around. Among the pile, a black shield that resembled a bear's fur stood out.
"Not bad! Another black iron item!" Wang Chen picked up the shield and examined it.
[Name]: Brown Bear Bee Shield
[Type]: Weapon
[Level]: Black Iron
[Attributes]: Strength +20, Constitution +25
[Bonus Effects]: None
[Bonus Skills]: None
[Description]: A drop from the Brown Bear Male Bee. Offers excellent resistance to attacks.
"Perfect for integrating into my left arm!" Wang Chen thought as he placed the shield onto his left arm.
Whoosh!
The shield instantly shattered and was absorbed into his left arm as countless fragments. A flash of light followed, accompanied by the familiar voice of the world will.
[Right Arm Attack Route Ascended Successfully!]
[Congratulations, you have acquired the external defense gear: Brown Bear Arm Shield!][Congratulations, the Brown Bear Arm Shield's level has been upgraded to Bronze!]
[Congratulations, you have gained a new skill: Bear Roar!]
"It seems that every time I absorb an item, the Super God Arm refines it, and there's a chance that the item's tier will be upgraded, along with the possibility of unlocking a new skill," Wang Chen mused.
He placed his right arm in front of him. A large, black shield appeared, with a fierce bear head in the center.
Then, just as Wang Chen expected, the world will's voice echoed again.
[Congratulations, you have gained an impact resistance effect! Super God Arm's impact resistance has been increased by 100%!]
The black and gold armor on his arm shimmered once again, now thicker but still retaining its flexibility.
"Not bad! The Super God Arm's defense just got better!" Wang Chen said, pleased, as he gave his chest a hard thump with the shield, which produced a sound like a heavy thunderclap.
He stored the rest of the materials in his backpack, which was now bulging with items.
Just as he was about to ask Mo Liuli how much longer she was going to take to change, an unexpected scream echoed from the direction of the bushes.
"Ahhh!"
Mo Liuli, tears in her eyes, scrambled out from the bushes, looking completely panicked.
Wang Chen was stunned for a moment.
At that instant, Mo Liuli was wearing nothing but a white, form-fitting undergarment. Her slender and delicate body was now fully exposed to his eyes.
Her waist was delicate and narrow, the curve of her abs visible, her pale legs, and even the parts of her chest that trembled as she fled everything was laid bare before him.
Although Mo Liuli covered herself frantically with her hands, it was clear that she couldn't hide everything.
Fortunately, Wang Chen was armored with the Super God Arm, so she couldn't see his reaction.
She dashed behind him, her face full of embarrassment and fear. "Quick, quick! There are… terrible monsters inside!"
Wang Chen, trying to ignore his burning cheeks, composed himself and asked, "What monsters?"
He saw several grotesque, large-nosed green-skinned monsters, holding crude iron clubs, coming out of the bushes.
"They're… Goblins?" Wang Chen asked in confusion.
Goblins? These low-tier monsters could actually scare Mo Liuli so badly?
Mo Liuli shook her head desperately, flailing her arms. "No, no, no! How are they not scary? Didn't you read any comics or books? Goblins are the worst! If they catch a girl, they do horrible things! They don't even spare your nostrils!"
She shivered as she spoke. "If I hadn't run so fast earlier, I would've been done for! Boohoo!"
Wang Chen felt speechless hearing Mo Liuli's words.
"Ugh!" Mo Liuli suddenly cried out.
Wang Chen turned to see one of the Goblins holding up the skirt that Mo Liuli had just taken off. The creature was twisting it in the air and then, with a strange expression, it drank something from it before letting out a triumphant yell.
"That's sick!" Wang Chen couldn't hold back his disgust. He felt nauseous.
Mo Liuli's face went even paler, as she watched the Goblin's twisted behavior.
"Stand still. I'll handle them," Wang Chen said coldly, already charging at the Goblins.
The Goblins, surprisingly fearless, rushed at him, weapons raised.
With his left arm raised, Wang Chen grinned. "Let's test out my new skill! Bear Roar!"
With a mighty shove, the circular shield in front of him trembled, and a powerful roar erupted from it. A wave of sound swept out in a brilliant white blast.
Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom!
The Goblins were all sent flying, blood spewing from their mouths as they crashed into the air, landing lifeless on the ground.
Wang Chen easily cleared them out, thoroughly satisfied with his new shield skill.
Just then, Mo Liuli's scream sounded again.
"Ahhh!!"
"Stop! Noooo!!"
Wang Chen turned around to see two more Goblins suddenly emerge from somewhere, trying to pull off the last of Mo Liuli's clothing.
If it had been anyone else, maybe Wang Chen would've cheered them on or hesitated for a moment. But not now.
His direct, no-nonsense nature kicked in. He ran over and pummeled the Goblins with two powerful punches, saving Mo Liuli from any further embarrassment.
However, the Goblins didn't let go, and with them, two pieces of white clothing fluttered through the air.
Mo Liuli collapsed to the ground, covering her body in shame, her face utterly defeated.
Wang Chen remained silent.
Mo Liuli suddenly lifted her head, her face a mixture of tears and frustration. "Are you… are you looking at me now?"
Wang Chen, still armored and protected, couldn't show any signs of looking, so Mo Liuli had no way of knowing whether he had seen her.
Wang Chen, feeling his eyes burning, finally shook his head. "I'm not that kind of person. Don't worry!"
