"What's the new skill?"
Wang Chen's curiosity piqued as he waited for the system's announcement.
Congratulations, you've obtained the new skills: 'Bee Venom Ray' and 'Ant Acid Ray'.
"Wait, are the abilities from both Palm Cannons different?"
Wang Chen's excitement couldn't be contained as he raised his hands, his fingers splayed wide. He aimed at the distant wall.
Whirr
The components of the Palm Cannons spun rapidly, their mechanisms clicking and grinding as energy coursed through them.
Boom!Boom!
One yellow and one green ray shot out, streaking across the room at incredible speed. The wall was immediately perforated with two massive holes. The green ray began to corrode the wall, while the yellow ray, with its toxic stench, clearly carried a lethal poison.
"Gah!" Mo Liuli gasped, her eyes wide as she watched the devastating power of Wang Chen's Palm Cannons. "That's terrifying! It's even stronger than most level 20 spells!"
Her own strongest spells didn't compare to that level of devastation.
"Is this guy a hexagonal warrior or something?" Mo Liuli muttered in disbelief. "He seems to be good at everything! And those rays came with negative buffs too
imagine what would happen if that hit someone!"
"Not bad!" Wang Chen grinned at the results. He was pleased with his new ability, and as he looked down at the glowing suit of armor covering his body, the system's voice echoed again.
Congratulations, you have acquired Poison Resistance and Acid Resistance from the Palm Cannons. The Super God Armor's poison and acid resistance has increased by 100%!
"Another upgrade?" Wang Chen's heart raced with excitement. Each piece of equipment he absorbed added a new effect to his Super God Armor. At this rate, it would keep getting better and better over time.
Mo Liuli didn't fully understand what had happened, but she could feel the intensity of Wang Chen's presence grow stronger.
"This guy…" she muttered, staring at him in awe. "Leveling up is as easy for him as drinking water…"
She felt a pang of bitterness, a mix of admiration and frustration. She was an A-rank mage after all, but in Wang Chen's presence, she felt small way too small.
The feeling was so overwhelming, it made her want to kneel at his feet. She even caught herself thinking... Wait, what am I thinking?
"Hey, hey! Why are you spacing out? Let's go already!" Wang Chen waved a hand in front of her face.
"No way! Even if you're that strong, I won't bite you!" Mo Liuli suddenly blurted out, her face flushing crimson.
"Bite? What the heck are you talking about?" Wang Chen was confused, trying to make sense of the blue-haired girl's strange behavior.
"Ah? Nothing, nothing! Hahaha, let's go grab the honey, I'm sure it's all packed up now. I can use my spatial ring to carry it all," she said, hastily changing the topic as she rushed out of the cave.
Wang Chen watched her in confusion, still unsure of what was going on. He shrugged, then waved his hand, causing all the mechanical worker bees and ants around them to turn into streams of data, sucked into his mechanical space.
When they reached the entrance, the Excavators had finished collecting the honey, and massive piles of it sat in neat stacks on the ground like small hills of honey jars.
"Looks like everything's done," Wang Chen said, observing the now-dry honeycombs outside. "I'll take this with me. We can drop it off later. If there's any extra, I can sell it for you. Let's add each other as friends, and I'll transfer the money to you."
Mo Liuli eagerly took out her phone and added him as a friend.
"Alright!" Wang Chen agreed, already planning to keep some of the honey for his family, and sell off the rest.
"Wait here for a moment," Wang Chen said, a thought crossing his mind. With a swift motion, he summoned back all the Excavators and then collected the three scanning towers he had built within the cave. He planned to use them again in the future, so he stored them in his mechanical space for easy access.
Copper Ore x3210, Alloy Diamonds x891, Iron Ore x4212, Silver Ore x2311, Aluminum Ore x1234…
Looking at the materials stored in his mechanical space, Wang Chen was satisfied. The entire dungeon had almost been mined out, and this was after creating so many Excavators, Invaders, and scanning towers.
He then checked his current army and available structures.
Currently owned units: Excavators (LV1) x50, Mechanical Worker Bees (LV15) x104, Mechanical Black Armored Ants (LV15) x102
Currently owned structures: Scanning Towers (LV1) x3
At this point, Wang Chen could easily clear a level 25 dungeon or secret realm with just his 200+ LV15 mechanical worker bees and ants! His Mechanical Construction talent was nothing short of terrifying.
And this was only the beginning! Once he developed more powerful units and buildings, he would be an unstoppable force.
With that, Wang Chen's anticipation for the future grew even stronger. He was just getting started.
"Let's go!" He waved, and in the blink of an eye, he and Mo Liuli shot out of the secret realm like streaks of light.
As they exited the realm, Mo Liuli turned to him and asked, "By the way, which university are you planning to apply to?"
"Capital University," Wang Chen replied without hesitation.
"Capital University? That's a bit ambitious, don't you think? In our province, you'd need to be in the top ten of the entire province just to get in!" Mo Liuli's eyes widened in shock. "Capital University is the best in the whole of the Empire, and the competition is fierce!"
Mo Liuli wasn't wrong. Only A-rank professionals had the privilege of applying to Capital University. Out of ten thousand applicants, there might be one A-rank professional at best making it an incredibly tough university to get into.
Though Wang Chen's abilities were extraordinary, when compared to the whole of Tianning Province, there was always the chance that some other city could have even stronger talents true prodigies.
"Let's take it one step at a time," Wang Chen said casually. He wasn't fazed by the difficulty. His goal wasn't just the university; it was what came after.
He had his reasons for aiming for Capital University. With that level of education, he'd be able to catch the attention of Tianning Province's higher-ups. Once that happened, he'd be able to ask for help in treating his family his parents, who were in comas, and his sister, who was paralyzed.
"Good luck! Oh, by the way, I heard that Ren Yinian from our school is also applying to Capital University this year. They say he might be the top student of Tianning Province," Mo Liuli added, her voice filled with a mix of admiration and worry.
Top student was a prestigious title, meaning the number one student in the entire province. Ren Yinian, with his S-rank profession and powerful background, had a good chance of claiming the title. His chances were further bolstered by the fact that there were over ten S-rank professionals this year making the competition fiercer than ever.
Wang Chen remained quiet, his eyes glinting with determination.
He had his own path to walk.
