As Ren Yinian's name was mentioned, Wang Chen's eyes turned cold, but he refrained from responding. He had always preferred to let his strength do the talking.
He would defeat Ren Yinian in the college entrance exams. And when the time was right, he would settle old scores.
He was confident that he had the power to back it up now.
Soon, Wang Chen and Mo Liuli left the Toxic Mushroom Forest. He had to go check on his sister. She must have been waiting anxiously for him. She had no idea that his life had changed dramatically.
Wang Chen couldn't wait to share the good news with his sister.
Unbeknownst to them, as they were discussing Ren Yinian, he was holding a bronze token and rushing towards the same spot with two of his family members. After spending a fortune on the key to the secret realm, Ren Yinian was the first to arrive.
"With this secret realm, Young Master, you'll definitely level up faster than anyone else in your age group!"
"By the time you reach the top level, it'll be no contest!"
The two followers were eagerly flattering him.
"Alright, the secret realm can only accommodate three people. Let's hurry up."
Ren Yinian spoke calmly, but even he couldn't hide a hint of anticipation in his eyes. He estimated that he could level up at least ten levels with the resources here.
"Yes, Young Master!"
His followers quickened their pace.
However, just as they approached the entrance, Ren Yinian's expression suddenly changed. He stopped abruptly and looked at the bronze token in his hand.
The token rapidly crumbled into sand.
"How is this possible? Someone cleared the instance already?" Ren Yinian's face darkened, his expression turning stormy.
"The family's divination master said this secret realm had two BOSS-level monsters! I bought so many high-level consumables and magic scrolls specifically for this, including toxins for bee and ant-type monsters. The family spent a fortune!" Ren Yinian's anger boiled over.
The money wasn't the issue it was the time lost.
He had wasted nearly a whole day preparing for this. Time was the most valuable resource.
"Damn it!" Ren Yinian's face was dark as a thundercloud, his anger barely contained.
"We must go check who has cleared the Young Master's secret realm!" he snapped, his fists clenched.
The three of them quickly rushed to the entrance of the secret realm.
One of his followers pressed a hand to the ground, and a strange wave of energy passed over them.
"Detection spell shows two players around level ten, one of them barely reaching level ten," the follower reported.
"Level ten players? Impossible! This is a double BOSS instance. Even level twenty players would struggle, and they'd need a lot of items to succeed!" Ren Yinian's second follower disagreed.
"They must just have passed by. Whoever entered was probably a high-level player. They left no traces behind."
Ren Yinian took a deep breath, his eyes fixed on the entrance of the secret realm. His fists tightened. It was too late to be angry now.
All he could do was grind for monsters in the Toxic Mushroom Forest, but the efficiency couldn't compare to the secret realm.
"Damn it, damn it, damn it!" Ren Yinian felt like he had just eaten something foul.
All his plans had been ruined.
Meanwhile, Wang Chen and Mo Liuli had parted ways and returned home. In the old, slightly run-down apartment, Wang Chen used his keys to open the door. Inside, a girl sat in a wheelchair, waiting anxiously in the living room.
Her back was resting against the chair as she had fallen asleep, clearly having been waiting for a long time.
"How long has she been waiting?" Wang Chen murmured to himself.
He retrieved a blanket from the side room and gently draped it over his younger sister, Wang Luohan. His heart ached at the sight of her pale, thin face.
She used to be a beautiful girl, but her paralysis had kept her indoors for years, unable to exercise, and she had become slightly malnourished as a result. But all of this would change now.
Wang Chen swore to himself that he would heal his sister's legs.
Just then, Wang Luohan stirred and woke up, rubbing her eyes. She looked up and saw Wang Chen standing there.
"Brother, you're back? Why are you so late? I fell asleep waiting for you."
Wang Chen smiled. "I went to the awakening ceremony today. Got lucky, I awakened as a Mechanic, so I'm late."
"What?!" Wang Luohan gasped, her drowsiness instantly forgotten. She grabbed his hand urgently. "Brother, are you alright? You're not hurt, right? What about your artificial heart?"
Wang Chen had already prepared a story. "After awakening as a Mechanic, my class can power my artificial heart directly, so I don't need the external battery anymore."
"Oh, I see. You scared me there."
Wang Luohan let out a relieved sigh, but her eyes immediately turned red. She scolded him, "I told you not to participate in the awakening ceremony! What if something had happened to you?"
As she
