I had no idea about what the red glow meant, but somehow 'danger' was the first thing to think about.
None of those who glowed in red were giving me any peace of their attention, and I myself ignored all this case by simply taking off my glasses.
But I needed to get out as fast as I could, that's an unnegotiable matter, especially since the glasses never showed me anything that didn't help.
"Two day,"
This damned game was two days long and maybe after it they'll just kill us all with the anomalies, sparing themselves the effort to search or something.
"You didn't find her?" Silas returned empty handed, his expression was too stiff. "Maybe she isn't here from the beginning? Those who stayed in the building nobody forced them to come after."
"Yeah," he answered while checking his phone. "But they'd likely get in a harder situation this time, maybe an anomaly was there already."
"RIP it then. She'll kill it without much suffering."
"So funny."
"I'm not joking." I frowned, "Who did teach her to fight this way?"
Silas just looked at me for a second or two, as if he wanted to say something, but then just skipped it. "Some monster. Very ugly monster."
"...?"
"Okay, let's leave her to her problems. We shall do something about this situation."
"We must get out." I corrected. "There are too many strong people here, it's not our job anyway."
"But they looked us up in a locked space Vessel. There's no way out."
Locked what?!
Oh…
That's right,
The masks got very ugly after that man said the rules.
"Wait a minute. Why did I see you without a mask even after entering the company when I wasn't wearing it?"
"Who knows? Maybe because we were together before coming here?"
Everybody in here was the same too. I saw their faces from the very start… and that was the definition of suspiciousness.
Was it possible that something happened to me? A side effect of wearing the glasses for a long time, maybe?
"I'll wait here." I returned to my seat and just sat there before taking my tablet out of my pocket. "A massacre will eventually happen somehow, and until that, I prefer to rest in peace."
"... Fine, I'll go and ask others if they know something for now."
Silas just went somewhere and I stayed at my place while looking at the blck screen of my tablet. Something on me told me that I had to read the files I copied from the control room of the Carnivals' storehouse, but the other side just wanted to drop that and act as if I didn't got anything from there.
"I have been acting weird from the very start, if I'm being honest."
Starting from the Old company Vessel, I copied the files to my tablet as if I would 'need' it one day I didn't even thought about something as easy as saying: 'What something from a Vessel would help you at? It's completely a different world!'.
It happened in the carnival too, but that time it was out of a pure curiosity. Why the company's system was still working? Why in the Carnival out of all places? And why Tristan name was still there? There were also a strange file about merging things but I didn't give a second chance.
"Was it even safe to read it in here?"
Somehow, this company reminded me of that company with all the red alert about it. So I chose the safest way and put the tablet back on my pocket.
Tomorrow, when I go out wit Hero somewhere far from here, I'll give it a look.
"And what's up with that anomalies thing?"
I looked around me, all in here seemed humans to me. The feeling I usually got when I see humans with anomalies when I was in a Vessel was no where.
Si, there were to chances…
First that all people here were humans, and the second that I maybe couldn't do that here and it's something limited to the Vessels.
"The second seems right."
I didn't feel anything about that Johan from before, so Mybe even if an anomaly was in front of me, I'll never know.
What a headache.
Agh—
I couldn't do anything here, and I couldn't return to my room, even looking for an escape felt wrong.
Perhaps escaping was the right answer from the start. But what's the point of regret?
"So I have to find something to do…"
My eyes dropped to my hand and the glove I wore, then I saw my ring so I remembered the one Louis gave me and I took it out.
Platinum, seemed too ordinary, but when I wore it, it adjusted itself to my finger's size.
That remained me that Tristan's ring seems to fit without even trying…
"Okay, so… maybe I shall think about the things on it?"
That seemed kind of logical but due to my lack of knowledge, I didn't even know what was on it.
I tried to touch it, or take it off, or swipe it. Nothing worked. And just when I felt helpless, I remembered that Silas's specialization was to know what items do so I decided to ask him.
And before that—
"Woh, wait."
I have a system.
And the last mission I completed gave me new S.P.s!
"Items shop." I didn't even give a look at he mission's completed panel and decided to do straight forward for thing I wanted.
[Search for an item.]
"Something that could identify other item's use."
[• Mary's necklace:(400S.P.s)
A necklace that gives a sight when a precious thing is near.
•Good Luck touch:(700 S.P.s)
A glove that make you know how to use anything.
Only one use for the same object.
•Earrings: (300 S.P.s)
Whispers of knowledge.]
There was a bunch of other useless things that I skipped before choosing the second, since it was somehow around what I wanted.
Three seconds after, a gray glove that was identical to the one I was wearing showed up on my palm, with a new panel.
[Would you like to merge the items?]
"The gloves together?"
[Yes.]
"And it will have the same effect as both?"
[Yes. With some changes.]
I hesitated for a second or two before accepting.
[Merging process: 100%
New item: Black glove.
•Protect the hand from sudden harm, whatever it was.
•If you touch a thing that you don't know how to turn on or use, your hand will do it.
°Additional: Your luck to find precious things and got a good dice will raise to 99%! One time a day.]
Woh,
What?
Luck?
I looked at the new glove in my hand. Somehow it felt so luxurious that it could easily took a one month of debts as a price, that if I put a side what it could be used for!
"So…"
I wore it, then touched the ring on my other hand… I've seen, and felt, my hand moving to the air in front of me, and as if it was opening a bag zipper, it opend a pure dark space with a width of my hand.
It was weird to feel my hand moving without my well, but the weirdest part was that I didn't hesitate much before putting it on that black hole to see what's on there.
Unlike the belt's pocket, that was simply need me to think about the thing so it showes up in my hand, this space seemed more like a bag. I touched things randomly then took the one that seemed like a gun.
And it was a gun.
One that was so beautiful and black that it took my breath for a moment.
And of course it wasn't a normal one, but I decided to know in another time.
The second thing was pills, they wrote "to stay alive" on the outside of it.
The invitation was there too, and other random things I didn't even got the chance to check, because a sudden shout from the front rows and nearly gave me a heart attack.
"What was that?"
"Let's just hide ourselves somewhere." Sials come in hurry before forcing me to stand up. "They found the first anomaly."
"So? they're going to kill it."
"No. For now. As we don't have any ability to that ourselves, we don't need to het involved."
"That's right."
The place we went to wasn't out of the stadium but somehow at a blind point, were others were there too.
"How did they know about it?"
"The anomaly?" He asked as I was taking a look at what happening there. "Yes. What else."
"Someone's specialization, or item."
"Oh…I thought that it would be a puzzle solving or something."
"..."
"What? In each case I have nothing to do except waiting."
"Right…"
With an inhale, he moved my head back and just typically forced me to set in the very last chair behind me.
"Don't ever think of moving from here. Seeing what's happening won't help you or anyone here."
"...?"
What?
Like, why?
"Just do as what I say."
"Forcing your opinion like this is so suspicious, if you notice?"
"Yeah, eventually you'll know the reason if you did the opposite."
"And it's something I won't like?"
"Exactly."
He gave me a smile that didn't seem like one before heading somewhere else,
And I stayed there… not having anything beside question marks on my head.
