The atmosphere was electric, everyone was eager in anticipation for the match to begin.
The 2 teams were about to be chosen. The coaches were discussing a few things with each other.
The Dean was in attendance, he sat at the stands, where the shade could cover him from the sun.
A rival team's student was in attendance as well, he stood at the side of a building away from the field as to avoid attention. He wore a blue hoodie, with sunglasses on to look cool and mysterious.
The line ups for the two teams were brought and called out to the students.
Starting line up (Team A)

Defenders: Daisuke Ironwall, Mikel Soren, Kenji Bastion, Magnus Steelhart

Substitutes: Ren Kurotsume, Kaito Shiranui, Issei Arashi, Ryo Hazan
Sonny reviewed the starters and turned to see the B team's line-up.
Starting line up (Team B) Formation: 4-2-3-1
Goal keeper: Hugo Absolon
Defenders: Riku Obsidian, Taro Fortress, Viktor Dragunov, Axel Grimhorn
Midfielders: Arata Lune, Sonny Hale, Ren Alistair
Left wing: Yagami Noah
Right wing: Luis Francisco
Striker: Kazuma Raiden
Substitutes: Shidou Arashi, Daichi Kurogane, Goro Arakabe, Sora Aizome, Minato Kisaragi.
Sonny, a bit surprised, he made the starting eleven over some good players, he should have started from the bench.
Coach Joe continued "This is the final step towards the first team for all of you. I know the best players will show what they're capable of here today.
That dream of playing in the world cup final or the euros final... it starts now", he said, looking at the players with conviction.
"Alright the lads who have been selected should all get onto the pitch, the match is about to begin" he said.
He gave his assistant the whistle to referee the match. The players got onto the field, the two teams had a quick team talk.
At the stands.
Kelly Mercer and her friend Michelle took their seat to watch the game. Michelle didn't want to attend but Kelly forced her.
"This match better be worth watching Kelly, school was very stressful today" she muttered while drinking a juice box.
Kelly chuckled "I mean, it'll probably be.. Hopefully..." she said, with a grin on her face.
Back on the field.
Team B won the coin flip so they were the ones to start the kick off.
Sonny looked to his left, he saw Yagami Noah smiling, eager for the game to get started.
"With Yagami on my team, this could get pretty interesting" Sonny muttered to himself.
Kazuma Raiden stepped up to the middle of the centre circle to kick off the game.
On the bench, Coach Joe was seated with his assistant to his right, watching the game.
"Sir, are you sure of this Team B's line-up? It looks pretty fragile to me" Maryanne, his assistant said.
"The pressure will force them to do their best" Coach Joe calmly responded.
"FWEEEE!!"
Kick off.
Kazuma Raiden, passes the ball to Sonny and the players immediately rush forward.
Sonny plays a good pass to the right back, who clears it up the field.
Kazuma Raiden rushes to try and get his head to nudge the ball forward even more, but Mikel Soren shields the area well, and Team A's goalkeeper, Dante Nightveil clutches it easily.
The match was scheduled to hold for 30 minutes each half, so Sonny's team needed to find a goal and fast.
Team A's left back pushed the ball up the field, he looked forward and saw their attacking midfielder, Elias Vierra with little space.
He passed the ball to Elias. But Arata Lune, Team B's defensive midfielder, ran to block him from turning.
Elias moved towards the ball and felt someone was behind him.
He chopped the ball with his left foot, and into his right, Arata thought he would try to turn to his left and got it all wrong.
Elias took the ball and sprinted forward, scanning everyone around him with just one look up.
He played in a through pass for the left winger. The left winger, Johnson James.
Johnson faked a cross and Team B's right back took the bait and slid to block him.
Johnson with enough room delivered a power cross into the box for Damien to head it into the net.
Damien leaped almost 1.8 metres into the air, above all the defenders around him and scored to give Team A the lead.
GOOAALL
Team A's players exclaimed. "Nice goal Damien" a player said.
Damien smirked, while jogging back to his team's half of the field.
"Bro come on, we've only played like 5 minutes and they've already scored" Ren Alistair, Team B's midfielder muttered in anger.
"Its basically Axel's fault, he let that Johnson guy take him to the shops" another player said.
"Ay, guys.. the game's just started. We've got plenty time to get an equaliser, so shut your mouths and play ball!" Riku, Team B's centre back exclaimed.
Sonny still in disbelief on how easy it was for Team A to get through them, contemplating to himself
"They've got monsters in that team... but I won't lose, not now that I've come this far" he muttered with courage, while looking at Raiden as he went to the centre circle.
At the stands.
A rival school's player was watching with his friend. They both wore green and black hoodies respectively.
The one in black sat down on the seat, and the one in green was texting someone, then put down his phone.
"Its not even halftime and this game seems to be over" the one wearing a green hoodie said.
"No no, this is where the fun usually begins" the one in black responded.
Back on the field.
Yagami seemed less concerned, the odds were against them, and he was up against probably the best right backs in their school.
He looked at Sonny "Ay, Sonny!" he exclaimed.
"Huh? What's up?" Sonny replied.
He pointed forward, as to say Sonny should play the pass for him immediately after kick off.
"Are you sure?... ok, I'll do it" Sonny replied with a thumbs up.
"FWEEEE!"
Raiden, kicked off to continue the game.
He passed to Sonny. Damien was pressing hard towards him so Sonny played a lifted pass towards Yagami.
Yagami used one hand to block the right back, Magnus Steelhart, who was making it hard to focus on the ball.
He trapped the ball with his chest, and controlled with the sole of his boot.
He turned to face the defenders in front of him.
Yagami drove forward, Team A's midfielder came in with a sliding tackle, but Yagami dinked it over the player.
He continued to push forward, "pass it!" Raiden screeched for the ball.
But Yagami wasn't listening, the right back, Magnus stepped up to stop him, Yagami followed up with a wave of 5 quick step overs to confuse Magnus.
He then pushed the ball with the outside of his left boot into space.
He ran in front of Magnus and used his right hand as a support to block Magnus from touching the ball without fouling him.
Approaching the 18 yard box, Yagami cut inside instinctively.
"Oh sh*t, block the shot" Mikel Soren ordered for his centre back partner to block him off.
But Yagami was ready, the centre back slid in to block the shot, Yagami faked his shot, cut inside and cut back outside to leave the defender flat on the ground.
He looked up, and shot a powerful finesse shot into the top right corner of the goal post.
"GOOOOAAALLL!!!" Team B players exclaimed.
"Ain't no freaking way" a player blurted.
"That was genius bro!" another exclaimed.
Coach Joe smiled, with his arms folded.
The game was just getting started
