Sonny was amazed by Yagami's footwork. Humiliating the whole of Team A all by himself.
"Yagami is brilliant, that's why I wanted him on my team. Lets win this" Sonny thought to himself, while watching Nagi walk back to his position ahead of kickoff by Team A.
Damien also watching him walk back, his fist tightened, "These guys think they have a chance to win this game, I will show them why football isnt for the weak" he muttered as he was about to kick off for the game to continue.
"FWEEE!!!"
Kick off by Team A.
Damien passed the ball to Elias Vierra, and the match was back in action.
Both teams seemed hot on the attack and counter attack. For the next 15 minutes Team A dominated possession, while Team B relied on the counter attack to find half chances to score.
Sonny was having a decent game so far, but had not made any significant contribution since the assist for Yagami to score.
Elias was passed the ball, and sprinted forward into Team B's half. Damien spinned round the defender and made the run for Elias to pass the ball.
Sonny read the situation and was tightly hunting Elias down "I know where this is going" he thought to himself, as he slide in to intercept the ball of Elias's feet.
He intercepted the ball and passed it to Ren Alistair.
They did a quick one two around the coming Team A midfielders.
Sonny received the ball in the middle of the pitch, he looked to his left and saw Yagami being tightly marked by Magnus Steelhart, who of course was arguably the best right back in the school.
And to his right Luis Francisco, a physical type and, one of the strongest players on that field. Not sure why he would even be a winger with such strength.
Luis was open "oi mate!" he exclaimed for the ball.
"Alright bro" Sonny said as he played a lifted pass towards Luis.
Luis controlled it with the outside of his left foot.
One on one with Team A's left back. He came in with multiple touches with the sole of his both, coming towards the left back.
"1.. 2... 3.. 4..5!" he said as he did one quick stepover and shifted his weight to his right side.
He sprinted away, the left back tries to use his special ability "killer slide" which allows him to dispossess anyone who isn't as strong or as skillful as he is.
But it proved to be futile, as Luis was way too strong and buff, his calfs were like diamonds.
He shade the left back completely, using only his left arm and left leg to do so before the defender could even slide thoroughly.
"Oh sh*t" the left back muttered while on the floor, watching Luis.
Luis had 2 seconds worth of space afforded to him before Team A's 2nd centre back could come in the intercept.
He looked up, he saw their striker, Raiden, in the middle and saw Yagami coming in back post.
He decided to cross into the middle for Raiden. He used his own special ability "power cross" which allowed his crosses to meet its target no matter the outcome.
The only way to counter this was for the defender to be absolutely peak in physicality, or for the striker to lack in hunger.
And of course it was Mikel Soren whom was the defender present in the box marking Raiden tight.
He leap up, almost above Raiden's, and headed the ball away but not completely out.
It fell outside the box into the path of Sonny.
Sonny was rushing in, he saw the ball coming towards him and his eyes lit up.
"This is it, my chance to announce myself" he said as he licked his lips on the sight of the goal.
Some players in the bench stood up, knowing this could be an amazing goal scoring opportunity.
Kelly's eyes also lit up in shock, an opportunity for Sonny to score and ultimately quiet all the haters, including herself.
The ball come down, before it could even touch the ground, Sonny blasted through it.
"POOOH"
He shot the ball with all his power. It flew towards the left of the goal, in-between the top corner and bottom corner.
The keeper, Dante Nightveil, was fired up, he smiled and locked in to dive and save it.
"Diving king" he said. He used his special ability, which allows him to dive further than 90% of players, both professional and local.
The only way to overcome this was for the shot to have been a special ability shot, which Sonny's was not.
He dived and pushed it out for a corner.
"Nahhhh, no way!" Sonny exclaimed, with his hands on his head.
"Nice shot Sonny!" Yagami exclaimed as he went to take the corner.
"No way that didn't go in" Ren Alistair bluttered in shock.
Before the game some tactics were discussed by the assistant coaches to the team assigned to each one.
For far post crossed the corner taker would raise both hands and for near post crosses he would raise one hand.
Yagami raised both hands.
He crosses it towards the far post. But yet again Mikel Soren was there to head it away. This time he headed clear of any danger.
Damien hadn't really been involved in the past 7-8 minutes of the game. He was growing annoyed and frustrated on the lack of service.
There was only 11 minutes left in the half. The next goals would be crucial for how the match would play out.
The rival students in black and green hoodies were watching closely. Their names were Alex and Parker.
"You see that Damien guy right Alex?" Parker asked.
"Huh? Oh yeah yeah, what about him?" Alex responded while playing a game on his phone.
"He's gonna crash out soon. He looks pretty frustrated" Parker said, with a smile on his face.
"Hehe, if he does crash out, this game is gonna turn really interesting" Alex chuckled, and continued playing the game.
With 10 minutes left in the half. 1 goal could change its whole landscape.
Where the goal eventually comes from remains a mystery. But one this is certain.
Both teams had everything to lose, and it was only a matter of time.
