Chapter 4 - Unwanted Guest

The boy opened his eyes to find himself in a dark place whose blackness covered everything.

His ears caught mixed voices of people echoing around. Meanwhile, he was tied up, unable to move a finger.

He began looking around; he did not know where he was, but he felt that this place was somewhat familiar. After some time had passed, a mysterious person appeared in front of him without any prior warning.

He was completely white from the top of his head to the bottom of his feet. He was as clear as the moon in that pitch darkness, watching the boy in eerie silence.

The boy glanced at him with looks of astonishment and tried to examine his face more closely...

Only to realize afterward that his face was completely white, devoid of any kind of details or features.

He did not utter a single word nor attempt to communicate with the boy in any way.

He was only... watching.

After some time had passed, a familiar sound began to echo in his ears.

It was not clear at first, but it started becoming clearer and clearer. With every second that passed, the strange man continued to fade until he disappeared completely.

The boy opened his eyes to find Jesse above his head, calling him to get up.

"Wake up quickly, boy! I think they've moved away from the car."

The two exited the house and headed toward the place where they had left the car the last time.

As soon as they arrived, they found the surroundings of the car empty of any threat, except for a few wanderers a few meters away from them.

Without a moment's hesitation, Jesse ran toward the car while the boy followed behind him.

Immediately afterward, he started it and sped off as fast as possible out of this area.

The wanderers nearby tried to catch up with him, but it was too late for them.

Jesse moved his eyes toward the boy beside him, addressing him: "Hey! There's a gun in the back seat, go get it for me if you want."

The latter remained silent for a moment, then turned to the back seat and began searching in it.

After several minutes had passed, he found the gun under one of the seats.

It was a gun slightly larger than usual, silver in color, with a grip made of soft leather from an unknown creature, and in its center the phrase "William Thornfield."

He returned to his place and gave the gun to Jesse, who placed it in front of him and continued driving.

Suddenly, the latter spotted the same creature they had seen in the store coming out of one of the buildings, but this time it had noticed them from afar and began running toward them madly.

Without wasting a single second, he put his hand on the gear shift, switching it in an instant to reverse (R).

He slammed his foot on the gas pedal with all his strength, so the car shot backward violently, while the steering wheel spun wildly.

He quickly changed the gear to forward, turning the car's direction to the opposite side of the entity.

The wheels spun madly for fractions of a second before the car shot forward, moving away from the place and leaving a black mark on the ground.

Jesse grabbed the gun and then aimed it at the monster.

Bang!!!

He pulled the trigger, causing a bullet to explode from the muzzle of his gun.

It immediately blew up the stranger's stomach, leaving a huge hole in the right side of his belly.

A slight smile appeared on Jesse's face, thinking that this would kill him, but the expressions of joy vanished as soon as he noticed that the blood in his wound hardened in an instant, closing the wound within moments.

The latter increased the car's speed, which made him gradually move away from the monster.

But the stranger was not ready to leave them alone.

With a strange movement, he pressed his fingers with his right hand violently and forcefully until it exploded, and a fountain of blood burst from it, which then hardened to become like crimson crystal.

Immediately, he pressed on it until it shattered into small, sharp pieces.

With a quick glance toward their car, he raised his hand in the air and launched them with all the strength he possessed.

So the crimson shards flew through the air like missiles.

Meanwhile, Jesse looked at the mirrors, causing his smile to break and his eyes to explode with terror and shock.

He screamed, trying to alert the boy: "Get down!"

The shards collided with the car; some of them reached the wheels and caused them to explode.

While the rest penetrated the car's glass, shattering the glass.

And the last part of them reached Jesse and the boy, wounding their bodies with superficial injuries.

Due to the explosion of the wheels and the impact of the attack, Jesse pressed the brakes violently. But the car began to skid until it crashed into one of the buildings.

Jesse's head hit the steering wheel, causing red blood to flow from his forehead. He placed his hand on his head with trembling hands, and his eyes fell on his blood.

His features intensified with pain, but he gathered himself and got out of the car before the entity reached them.

He went to the trunk of the car and brought out the first aid kit.

He took out some bandages and a small bottle filled with antiseptic material.

He opened the bottle and poured the antiseptic on all his wounds, then immediately wrapped the bandages around his head.

He threw the bottle and what remained of the bandages into the car's trunk, then reached his hand back inside and pulled out a shield made of road signs metal plates welded together in an almost rectangular shape with a front covered in sharp spikes.

Finally, he loaded the gun with ammunition and put the rest of it in his pocket.

He turned toward the stranger, who was slowing down as he approached him.

He aimed his gun at him lightly, firing 4 shots in just two seconds.

The stranger tried to avoid the bullets, but one of them completely blew up his hand, while the rest failed to reach him.

His hand began to bleed and harden, forming a sharp weapon similar to a sword.

With agility and strength, he raised his hand in the air and directed a direct strike at him, sending him flying into the air.

The monster felt something strange in his hand. He turned his gaze toward it to find dozens of holes and spikes penetrating his arm.

Jesse rose from the ground with difficulty, with expressions of seriousness and pain dominating his face.

He directed his eyes toward the shield to find it deformed from the stranger's strike, and he whispered to himself, "I would have been dead if it weren't for this shield."

He stood on his feet and pointed his rifle toward the enemy, with all his eyes filled with seriousness and caution.

At the same time, the stranger pulled the spikes out of his arm with an angry growl flowing from his throat...
