A bullet from Jesse's rifle accelerated toward the stranger's body, piercing his stomach in the middle.
The wound closed, and the entity pounced on his enemy.
With a quick swing of his sword, he delivered a direct strike to the shield, sending Jesse flying far into the air.
While he was in the sky, he caught sight of the monster out of the corner of his eye.
He tightened his grip on his gun, and the sound of gunfire echoed in the air.
Using his sword, the stranger cut himself and scattered his blood into the air.
As soon as it hardened, it shattered the projectiles without any notable effort... but that was exactly what the entity was aiming for.
As soon as the bullet hit the crystals, it caused their stability to be disrupted.
That led to them deviating from their target and landing on the ground near the enemy.
Meanwhile, Jesse fell on the right side of his body, resulting in a massive surge of pain in his right arm.
His shield fell far away from him, leaving him alone without any means to defend against direct attacks.
His vision was slightly blurry, but he could see the monster clearly as it approached him with slow steps, as if mocking him. "This hurts so badly. I think my arm is broken... My wounds are getting worse and my condition is terrible to the extreme. I don't know if the boy is still alive or not, or even if I will get out of this situation alive. Damn, how painful this is!! I don't have time to think or feel pain. I have to do something before that thing kills me... I have to survive."
He stood up on his feet with difficulty, his eyes red from the pain.
He took a deep breath and began walking quickly toward the car, which was only a few feet away from him.
Specifically under the driver's seat, he pulled out an old metal weapon full of rust from all sides.
He grabbed the ammunition and reloaded it despite the burning pain in his arm.
He turned toward the monster, which was only a few meters away from him.
Aiming both of his guns at it, the first toward its foot and the second toward its head.
He took a deep breath and pressed his fingers on the triggers of both guns at the same time.
The first shot hit its foot while the second was avoided.
It severed the foot from the rest of its body, and it fell face-first to the ground with force.
Its blood returned to fill the wound and stop the bleeding. The stranger looked at Jesse with animalistic eyes.
Without any warning, he lightly cut his arm, and before the blood could harden, he extended his hand straight and spun it in a quick circular motion.
Blood flowed from the wound in the shape of a crimson crescent.
It transformed into a sharp-edged crimson crescent that cut its way relentlessly toward its target.
The latter felt a kind of shock, but he regained control of the situation before it was too late.
He raised his rifle and fired several shots at it, causing the crescent to crack and turn into small shards that scattered everywhere.
Jesse and the monster exchanged sharp glances.
Both of them knew that they had reached the end of their confrontation.
Where the final blow would decide who would survive and who would perish.
The monster prepared its remaining foot to push itself toward Jesse and cut off its second hand, letting the blood flow downward, shaping it into a long sword with a sharp edge.
In the blink of an eye, it pushed itself forward forcefully, launching its body like a bullet toward its enemy.
At the same time, Jesse aimed both of his guns at it as fast as he could and pulled the trigger.
(Gunshot sound) .... The sound of the last shot spread through the area, announcing the winner of this battle.
In those moments, the boy slowly opened his eyes, with pain spreading throughout every part of his body.
He got up slowly, his eyes scanning the place left and right while a mixture of astonishment and pain controlled his face.
The atmosphere was quiet while the place was covered with the light of the setting sun's rays.
The boy gathered himself and got out of the car.
When the boy placed his foot on the ground, he noticed that Jesse was lying in front of the car with a serious wound extending along his face, and in front of him was the corpse of the dead monster.
It was lying on the ground without a head, and a huge pool of its hardened blood took the place of its head.
The boy looked at Jesse, with worry clear on his face. He began trying to wake him up, but Jesse started to open his eyes slowly and said to him in a muffled voice: "Water... Bring me the water that's in the car."
The boy rushed toward the car, searching inside it until he found one bottle and began pouring it for Jesse to drink.
Jesse looked at the boy and told him to bring some bandages and canned food from the car because he couldn't move or do anything. The boy obeyed his request.
Jesse began eating while teaching the boy how to wrap the bandages around his wounds. The boy then carried him into the car.
Meanwhile, Jesse started it and drove out of the city, leaving the deformed corpse of the monster behind as a decoration in this miserable, featureless city.
(The End)
