Three bats came for her at once. She stepped back, freed her right hand, and pointed.

The necrotic beam leapt from her fingers, becoming a lance of sickly light that crossed the distance in a second and struck the lead bat dead center.
And slid off.
The bolt splashed as it hit the crystal body, before splitting around it and skating away in every direction like water pouring off a stone.
The bat kept flying without so much as a flinch.
The scattered beam struck the two bats behind it and did nothing to those either.
Unlike before, where it would begin rotting any beast it hit, the beam simply slid off them, as if they were already immune to it.
The moment she saw it, Akira frowned.
Their bodies had reflected the beam, the same way they reflected the sun balls' light.
It seems the necrotic energy was as useless against them as a candle.
