•Lines Being Drawn•
The afternoon sun stretched across the campus of Westbrook University, casting long shadows across the courtyard.
Lectures has just been cancelled students are everywhere some Students laughing, aomechatted, and rushing to get home.
But at the park lot…
Everything was still.
Adrian Voss stood beside his black car, one hand resting casually in his pocket.
His dark eyes were fixed on only one person.
Lila.
Until—
A car door slammed.
Adrian's expression immediately hardened.
Across the street not far from the parking lot, Megan Carlisle stepped out of her car slowly, her heels clicking sharply against the pavement.
Logan stood beside her, watching the situation unfold with mild amusement.
Megan's eyes moved from Adrian…
To Lila.
Then back to Adrian again.
"So," Logan said quietly, crossing his arms.
"That's the girl I guess the one driving you crazzzy ." He said with a satisfying smirk
Megan didn't answer immediately.
Her eyes narrowed slightly as she watched Lila.
The girl looked simple.
Normal.
Too normal.
Nothing like the women usually around Adrian.
Which made it worse.
Because Adrian was staring at her like she was the only person in the world.
Megan smiled slowly.
Dangerously.
"Well," she murmured.
"This should be interesting."
Westbrook Campus
Lila Becky and Maya were already standing at Becky's car.
"I swear if we don't get food soon, I might actually faint," Maya complained dramatically opening the car door handle .
"You say that every day," Lila laughed tossing her bag in the car.
"And every day it's still true."
They continued talking until Maya suddenly slowed down.
"Wait."
Lila frowned.
"What?"
Becky squinted toward the street.
"Is that the guy from the club?"
Lila froze.
Her heart skipped
Slowly… she turned.
And there he was
Adrian Voss
Standing across the street
Watching her.
The world around her seemed to fade for a moment.
His dark shirt fit perfectly against his broad shoulders, the faint outline of a tattoo visible near his collar
.His expression was calm, unreadable.
But his eyes…
Were locked on hers.
Lila quickly looked away.
"Okay," Maya whispered excitedly to Becky.
"That man definitely came here for you."
"He probably didn't," Lila muttered quickly.
Maya and Becky stared at her.
"Girl. He's literally staring at you like you owe him money." Said Becky
Lila felt heat creep into her cheeks.
"Stop."
Across the Street
Marcus Came up beside Adrian from the car back sit and stepped out.
"You couldn't stay away, huh?" Marcus said casually.
Adrian didn't move.
His gaze remained on Lila.
"She's fine," Marcus added.
"You've checked on her ten times today."
Adrian's voice was calm.
"Eleven."
Marcus sighed.
"You're hopeless."
Then Marcus noticed something.
His expression changed.
"Adrian…"
Adrian finally looked at him.
Marcus nodded toward Megan.
"She's here."
Adrian's face darkened instantly he knew she was he just choose to ignore it.
Across the street, Megan was now walking slowly toward the campus parking lot.
Her eyes never leaving Lila.
Marcus muttered quietly.
"This is about to get messy."
Maya was still watching Adrian like she had just spotted a celebrity.
"Okay, serious question," she said.
"Is he stalking you or is this like some billionaire romance situation?"
Lila groaned.
"Neither."
But deep down…
She wasn't sure.
She turned slightly to look again.
A woman was walking toward them.
Tall.
Elegant.
Beautiful.
But something about her felt… sharp.
Dangerous.
Megan Carlisle stopped a few feet away from Lila.
Her smile was perfectly polite.
But her eyes were anything but.
"So," Megan said smoothly, folding her arms.
"You must be Lila."
Lila blinked.
"…Do I know you?"
Megan laughed softly.
"No."
Her eyes flicked briefly toward Adrian across the street.
"But i would like for you to know me."
Maya and Becky stepped closer to Lila, instantly protective.
"Okay that sounded creepy."
Megan ignored her.
She stepped a little closer to Lila.
"You should be careful," Megan said quietly.
Lila frowned.
"About what?"
Megan's smile widened.
"About getting involved with people who belong to someone else."
Lila's confusion deepened.
"I have no idea what you're talking about."
Megan leaned slightly closer.
Her voice dropped to a whisper.
"Adrian Voss."
Across the street—
Adrian saw everything as he walked closer to them .
Eyes cold like he doesn't give a fuck.
Marcus sighed.
"Oh yeah… this is definitely going to be a problem." said Marcus.
Adrian's voice turned cold.
"Shall we."
Marcus groaned.
"That sentence never ends well."
Adrian stepped off the sidewalk and began walking toward them.
Slow.
Controlled.
Dangerous.
And suddenly—
For the first time since meeting him—
Lila felt it.
The power.
The danger.
The darkness surrounding Adrian Voss.
And somehow…
She had just stepped directly into it...🖤
