Chapter 18 - Not Carrying

Lucien, back online, immediately headed to the entrance of the Goblin Forest dungeon.

He wanted to clear the Hell difficulty again; after all, Hell-level dungeons dropped quite a few good items.

Moreover, the experience was much higher than in the wild; he figured another run would get him to level ten.

Once he completed the hidden quest, he could head to the main city.

Only by entering the main city would his game truly begin.

Just as he entered the dungeon, a Goblin Warrior came sprinting toward Lucien.

Lucien raised his hand, and a Soul Fire Talisman flew out.

With just one Soul Fire Talisman, four more identical Soul Fire Talismans immediately appeared behind it.

This Multiple Spellcasting talent was truly too powerful.

It had more than doubled his combat power.

The Goblin Warrior was left dazed by Lucien's Soul Fire Talisman.

The enemy was dazed, but Lucien was not.

He cast Soul Fire Talisman again, and this time, it directly triggered a random Nine-Fold Spell Casting.

It blew the Goblin Warrior apart.

After clearing the mobs, he reached the Goblin Princess once more.

Although his combat power had significantly improved, Lucien still summoned a Goblin Warrior and unleashed a barrage of attacks on the Goblin Princess.

As Lucien continuously dealt damage with Soul Fire Talisman and Wind Blade, the Goblin Princess's health bar dropped at a speed visible to the naked eye.

Suddenly, the Goblin Princess let out a loud roar, and Lucien's health instantly plummeted by a third.

Less than a minute later, a rumbling sound echoed.

The entire dungeon shook as if hit by an earthquake.

Lucien climbed up from the ground, looking somewhat disheveled.

"Pah, pah, pah!"

Looking at his health, which was now less than half, he felt a wave of lingering fear.

"I was careless. I didn't expect the spell backlash to be so severe this time. It actually exploded! Not only did it blow her up, but it also almost took me with her!"

It turned out the BOSS had used that special skill again, causing his Luck to drop into the negatives.

Consequently, he suffered another spell backlash.

Only this time, the power was quite immense; it not only blew up the Goblin Princess outright but also injured Lucien himself.

"Ding! Congratulations, you have gained 30,000 experience points."

"Ding! Congratulations, you have leveled up. You have reached level ten. Please proceed to the main city!"

"Ding! Congratulations, you have obtained the Goblin Netherbone Ring."

"Ding! Congratulations, you have obtained a High-Grade MP Recovery Potion."

"Ding! Congratulations, you have obtained ten gold coins!"

The items dropped this time were clearly not as good as the last.

This was normal; it was impossible to get great drops every single time.

It was also possible that the first time was better because of the first clear bonus.

Even so, the items he had obtained were likely far better than what ordinary people could get.

Lucien exited the dungeon but didn't immediately enter the purgatory difficulty of the Goblin Forest.

There was only one chance; if he failed, his hidden class would be ruined.

Therefore, he had to ensure everything was foolproof before entering the purgatory difficulty of the Goblin Forest.

He first took off the Goblin Mask, then returned to the Novice Village to learn his level ten skills from the mentor.

The mask was truly too ugly. If it hadn't provided fifty attribute points and a special skill, Lucien wouldn't have wanted to wear it.

Spending one gold coin, the novice mentor taught Lucien a new skill.

Summon Zombie

Grade: Black Iron

Proficiency: 0/1,000

Consumption: 100 MP, Spirit Talisman: 10

Casting Time: 3 seconds

Cooldown: 3 hours

Summons a zombie of the same level as the user.

(The zombie's existence is indefinite; the skill can only be used again after the zombie dies. While the zombie exists, it consumes one Spirit Talisman per hour.)

The summon's attributes are affected by the user's Magic Power and Health.

Lucien happened to know the zombie's attributes.

It had seventy percent of his health and defense, and sixty percent of his Magic Power attack.

Since it was a melee summon, its health was slightly higher.

For ranged summons, it would be the opposite.

If the skill level reached high-grade, the summon's attributes could match the player's.

It seemed like the summon was very powerful, potentially matching the player.

However, summons lacked skills, so their actual combat power was far inferior to a player's.

Of course, if one changed classes to an Exorcist Taoist, a Taoist specifically for controlling zombies, the attributes would be different.

This was also why a Taoist's growth attributes were Spirit and Stamina, as the summon's health and defense were tied to the user's own attributes.

Taoists were a relatively versatile class, possessing attack, healing, and summoning abilities.

However, in terms of mob-clearing efficiency, they couldn't compare to Mages, and in PK, they couldn't match Warriors.

Thus, each of the three classes had its pros and cons.

With his Multiple Spellcasting, he wondered if Summon Zombie would be affected by it.

Lucien silently chanted an incantation, and a few seconds later, a zombie appeared out of thin air before him.

Seeing the zombie appear, the surrounding players were filled with envy.

"He's level ten already. I wonder how long it'll take me to reach level ten!"

"The game's features will only fully unlock once we enter the main city!"

"What's there to show off? It's just level ten. He even went out of his way to summon a zombie."

Lucien ignored the comments from the players around him.

Instead, he stared intently at the spot where the zombie had appeared.

Immediately after, five consecutive flashes of light occurred.

Five more zombies appeared before Lucien.

Lucien clenched his fist tightly; it was a success.

Multiple Spellcasting could indeed be applied to Summon Zombie.

Everyone else stared at the five extra zombies, frozen in place.

"Holy crap, what's going on? Why did six zombies appear at once?"

"I remember Taoists are only supposed to be able to summon one zombie, right?"

"Could he have awakened some special talent?"

"Is this some big shot? But even a big shot shouldn't be able to summon six zombies at once!"

Just as everyone was buzzing with discussion, an untimely voice rang out.

"Hey, carry me to level ten, and I'll give you fifty gold coins!"

Hearing the voice, Lucien looked at the speaker with some curiosity.

A young man with an arrogant face stood before Lucien with a haughty expression.

Name: Gods - Young Master

Level: 6

Class: Mage

HP: 225

Strength: 20

Stamina: 20

Spirit: 50

Agility: 20

Magic Power: 100

Talent: Heart of Elements [S]

Description: Damage dealt by elemental skills is doubled.

Trash stats, typical of the vast majority of people.

Even his lowest attribute, Agility, was higher than the other's highest.

And with that little health, Lucien wouldn't even need a skill; one strike from the Peach Wood Sword in his hand could hack him to death.

However, looking at the prefix of his name, he was from the Gods Guild.

Lucien had no good feelings toward these large guilds.

"Not carrying!"

After speaking, he left immediately for the Goblin Forest.

Now that he had learned his skills, his combat power was maximized as much as possible.

He hadn't even used the ghost artifact's built-in skill while clearing the dungeon earlier.

If he still couldn't clear the purgatory difficulty of the Goblin Forest now, there was really nothing more he could do.
