Chapter 33- Evolution Master (Part 6)
Standing before the monster, Rein stared at it coldly. The bear didn't see him yet as it kept roaming and slamming its paw against the wall, thinking Rein wouldn't try to escape from the other side, and he didn't. Had he done that, he would've been completely screwed, and he knew that.
Instead, he did something that seemed way worse… Face the monster head-on. That was a quicker way to die. But Rein had a plan.
"Hey, you ugly piece of fur!" He yelled, catching the monster's attention. "I'm here. Come take a bite."
The bear seemed surprised that Rein had come out on his own, but then growled loudly as it rushed toward him without hesitation. It was already so outraged that he escaped, it can't let him escape twice.
Rein, meanwhile, stood there, not moving at all. His eyes locked on the monster as if he was daring it to get even closer.
'Not yet.'
"RAWR!!!"
The entire world shook around him as the giant bear charged at him. The sight alone would make a normal person piss in their pants. But Rein looked completely calm and collected. Almost abnormally calm.
'Not yet.'
The hundred-meter distance turned into a few dozen meters and then only ten meters. That was when Rein suddenly sprang into motion as he pulled one of the things he carried in his hand and stretched his arm far back.
The monster couldn't see it at first, but when it got close, it realized what Rein was holding, and it felt all its senses go off. However, by then, it was far too late.
"Eat this." Rein muttered as he channeled all his energy into his arm and then made the object lighter. That object was one of the many spikes that the monster shot at him earlier. Rein had gone down to the bottom floor and grabbed all the ones he could without alerting the bear before he sneaked out from the other side.
Then, he baited the monster to get close enough that dodging the hit would be impossible. Those ten meters were simply impossible to dodge, even if it was extremely fast; its body was far too large.
*Swish*
Rein threw his entire body forward as the spike flew extremely fast, cutting the distance instantly, stabbing the monster in the eye…
"RAWRRRRRRRR!!!" The creature shrieked loudly as it jumped back and fell to the ground, rolling around in pain and agony. Blood oozed out of its popped eye.
'I got it!!'
Rein then quickly dashed toward the monster as he leaped in the air and threw another spike, stabbing the monster in the abdomen as the spike sank deep. Landing on top of the monster, Rein tried to stab the monster in the neck to completely finish it off.
However, the creature immediately started tossing and turning violently, as it cried and shrieked. Rein tried to stay balanced… Until one of the paws slammed into his body, sending him flying in the air as he slammed against the wall.
"Hah…" Rein felt all his body scream from the impact. His lungs inhaled sharply before he looked up, holding his side.
'Shit! Even a popped eye doesn't stop it from resisting. Ugh, I'm almost there!' Rein quickly picked the spikes up before he started throwing them at the monster. He didn't stop throwing as he skewered the monster from every angle, making it bleed from several holes.
The monster cried from pain with each hit. Rein ran left and right, throwing the spikes like darts with extreme precision. He didn't stop for a second.
However, by that time, the monster was able to pull the spike out of its eye with its paws as it finally growled loudly and stood up.
Its entire body was dripping with blood, and it looked extremely weakened. However, the anger in its eyes and the fire burning within it made it not give up. Its fangs clenched as it put all its energy into one last attack.
All her spikes flared up as it aimed them at Rein before charging forward rapidly.
"...!!" Rein had already anticipated that as he tried to run out of range. However, the monster had already flared its spikes as it shot them all at the same time, in every direction. Most were directed toward Rein, who tried to find the closest spot to hide.
However, he was just one second too late. As he slid behind a rock, several spikes plunged into his legs and side. Rein cried in pain as he rolled on the ground and then quickly stood up and pulled the spikes out.
At the same time, the monster lunged forward, slamming him down.
"BLURGH!!" Rein coughed up a large amount of blood as he felt as if his organs got crushed. The weight of the monster's paw was just too heavy. Opening its jaws wide, it tried to bite Rein's head off.
However, the latter was quick as he grabbed one of the spikes and then stabbed the monster in the mouth with all the power he could muster.
"RAWR!!"
"Agh!"
The bear pressed even harder, making his bones screech and shake. They were almost about to be shattered into pieces.
But, Rein didn't stop resisting. Both sides tried to inflict as much damage on the other as possible. The monster pressed the young man down while he kept stabbing and poking its face, making a mess out of it.
"Just… fucking… Die!!!" He yelled as he stabbed the monster again. It pierced its nose, digging deep into its skull. That hit, as weird as it seemed, was the last straw as the monster yanked itself back and fell to the ground.
All the blood that was oozing out of its body had finally caught up to it. It was completely exhausted and on death's door. That was its limit, and the last attack was a desperate one to kill its target before it dies.
"Cough! Cough!! Cough!" Rein finally could breathe as he leaned to the side, coughing saliva mixed with blood as he tried to catch his breath. 'I saw the pearly gates there for a second… Fuck. It hurts!' He cursed under his breath as he glared at the monster.
Then, he slowly stood up and picked one of the spikes as he limped toward the monster slowly. His eyes were hazy and tired, and his body felt so painful that it started to burn. However, he wasn't going to let that monster live for another second, so he forced the pain down and walked toward it.
Eventually, he reached it and checked its condition. It was barely breathing with weakened groans.
"You… were such a tenacious bastard… But… I respect that… It was a good fight…" He muttered as he aimed at the spike at its neck before stabbing the monster, severing its windpipes.
The creature made one last groan before it finally succumbed to the injuries and died.

Rein didn't even get a second to read all those notifications as he finally got dizzy and fell to the ground.
