For the first time in a long time.. he didn't step out for silence, he stepped out with a reason. The same path. The same evening. The same quiet air brushing past him, but this time it didn't feel empty it felt.. expected.
His steps were a little faster than usual not rushed or not obvious but different because somewhere without admitting it to himself, he knew he was going in the same spot , the same place where he had seen her yesterday he just reached there and for a moment he stopped. His eyes scanned the surroundings..
Calm on the surface, but searching underneath. People passed by , voices blended into the air, but none of it mattered to him anymore.
He was looking for one presence. And then he saw her standing almost in the same place like nothing had changed like she belonged there .
A strange still ess settled in his chest, not heavy or not disturbing just.. noticable He exhaled slowly and this was new. He had walked past people a thousand times without a second thought but today taking a single step towards someone felt... Significant.
It was unfamiliar, yet he moved one step then another..
His mind wasn't racing. There were no dramatic thoughts, just a quiet awareness of what he was about to do.
Something he hadn't sone in a long time.
Something he had stopped believing in
He went to talk....
He was close now.
Close enough to hear the faint sound of her breathing or close enough to notice the way she stood calm untouched by the chaos around.
For a second... He paused not out of fear and then finally he spoke " excuse--"
But the word disint complete because at the exact moment she turned.. not towards him but away.
Her phone rang, rhe sound cutting through the silence like a sharp interruption. She picked it up instantly, her expression changing slightly focused, distant.
Without a glance in his direction -- she walked past him like he wasn't even there.... The space between them closed for a second and then widened again. He stood there.. unmoved, unreactive just watching her walk away until she disappeared into the crowd...
Silence returned.
The same silence he once controlled so effortlessly. But today it felt different.. incomplete because for the first time something didnt go the way he intended. Not because he failed but because the moment never allowed itself to exist
He was not in frustration but in realization.. he turned slowly walking back the same way he came, the same path , the same steps but there was not the same state of mind because something had definitely changed.
Something subtle... something he couldn't ignore anymore.
That was no loud neither desperate but present and clear... For the first time in a long while -- he wanted something , not control, not silence but... A chance . And maybe that was the real shift. Because once you start wanting-- peace doesn't feel complete anymore and that night no matter how quiet everything was...
But his mind wasn't because now there was something missing and he knew exactly what it was.
Insight : The moment you start wanting something, you give it the power to disturb your peace-- because desire turns control into a test.
