While bringing prosperity to Loguetown, a large number of pirates and criminals would pass through here to the Grand Line.
To counter this phenomenon, the Marine specially dispatched Navy Captain Smoker, known as "White Hunter," to be stationed here.

"Nami: navigator of the Reno Pirates, suspected Rumble-Rumble Fruit User, bounty of 50,000,000 Berries."
"This is a bit tricky," Smoker frowned slightly.
The Cloud-Cloud Fruit was one thing, but the destructive power of the Goro Goro no Mi was much stronger than his Smoke-Smoke Fruit.
If he had to fight them, he wouldn't have the advantage.
"When will Vice Admiral Garp arrive?!"
"Approximately four more hours," the soldier reported truthfully.
After leaving Marineford, Garp had rushed back to the East Blue without stopping.
However, after searching all the way, he found no trace of Luffy.
Left with no choice, he set off for Loguetown.
He knew his own family well; he was intimately familiar with that rascal Luffy's nature.
There was no way he would wander the East Blue his entire life; he was definitely going to the Grand Line.
Loguetown was a necessary stop for Luffy.
Instead of searching aimlessly, he might as well wait here for him.
He would wait for Luffy to come to him, then give him a fierce headbutt, letting him taste his Fist of Love.
"Captain Smoker, should we wait for Vice Admiral Garp to arrive?!"
"Four hours is too long." Smoker shook his head. "Besides Reno, have you found anyone else?"
The soldier shook his head in denial.
"Then we'll arrest Reno first." Smoker made a decisive decision, stood up, and put on his jacket.
"By the way, where is Tashigi right now?!"
"Sergeant Tashigi is currently on patrol."
Hearing this, Smoker nodded, then picked up his Jitte and walked out of the office.
